CHAPTER FIFTY-SIX

512 Words
"What bullshit?!" Kova asked. "I do not quite follow." Selene jerked in her father's direction, he sounded very angry. It was a shock, considering this was his idea. She wondered what else must have transpired while she was not here. "This!" He yelled and pointed in Selene's direction. Selene flinched like she had been slapped but she held her tongue. However, one more disrespect from any of them, and that would be the last they would hear of her in this meeting. She didn't care if it would embarrass the hell out of her father. She already had enough embarrassment to last her the rest of her life. Her reaction however was nothing compared to her father's who glared at Deville, she hoped that was his name because heavens knew she didn't give a damn but any of them to remember what they were called. Vance's name however was stuck in her head, she doubted she could ever forget it. "This what, De Vile? If you don't say what the problem is exactly nobody is going to understand the hint you're giving." Kova muttered darkly. "And I have a name," Selene heard herself say. She was as shocked as the rest of them as the words that came out of her mouth. "I don't think Athan did the introductions for nothing." She was not defeated just because she had slept with his son a few times that she definitely could not count on one hand, did not automatically mean marriage and she would not stand for any disrespect especially from someone she detested. They should be glad that she even decided to show up for the meeting even though she was regretting it right now and being kept on surveillance certainly seemed better than the embarrassment she just got, she still intended to go through it with her head held high. They needed her whether they liked it or not, so it was high time they started acting like it. Even though she had no intention of doing what they wanted it should not stop any of them from treating her with respect. De Vile's glare targeted at her was enough to set her on fire but she didn't even so much as blink rather she stared back at him with as much intensity she could muster. "De Vile if that would be all, would you mind returning to your seat so the meeting can resume?" Her father asked gently but she knew he was far from that, if only she had his control. She almost laughed, she was glad she did not. "Father," she heard Vance say. "Please sit." She scoffed loud enough for everyone to hear. How much of a big baby was the Primus of the Blackwood that even his son could see he was being obnoxious? However, De Vile Blackwood wasn't done and she should have known with the way he stared at her that he was trouble and that nothing about his trouble would be mild. "Father," Vance called again, the urgency in his voice bothered her.
