Vance took the second step down the stairs when he heard a strange noise, it sounded between a cough and someone choking. Vance immediately rushed back up.
"Selene?" He called again. Nothing.
He got nothing back.
Vance suddenly felt uneasy and the urge to break down her door was strangely overwhelming, he had to take a step back because he was afraid he would do it without being aware.
He looked around, nothing seemed out of place. He was definitely overreacting, Selene, won't be pleased if he burst into her house, simply because heard a noise and nothing was wrong. He could kiss whatever conversation they could ever have goodbye.
