No sooner did Vance knock that Selene prepared herself to let him know she was in danger. She quickly gathered air in her mouth as she tried to scream through the cloth. She knew if she made the right amount of noise Vance's ears were sure to pick it up.
However, she had barely processed when Jason and his crew immediately enacted countermeasures as if they could read her thoughts. The huge bloke atop her dug his elbow some more into her back just as Jason held her nose and stuffed the cloth even deeper.
