Despite her close proximity to him before Aerly was able to see him more clearly now. The light from her home illuminating his features and Aerly wished with every ounce of her being that she was repulsed, that she could turn away without a second glance but the dazzling blue eyes had drawn her in. Now she could actually see the details of his being and she wondered how she hadn't noticed the four defined claw marks that ran along the side of his face one was tucked under his jaw while the other three proceeded through his hairline one even slicing through his ear leaving a distinctive scar of an arrows head like groove where a part of his ear was missing.  "What are you doing here and how did you know where I live?" she finally worked herself up to speak despite his deep stare. "I asked your father and even if I didn't I could easily smell you" Raiden spoke with a smirk. "You didn't--" "Tell your father? No. I came to the conclusion you didn't want him to know" his eyes remained focused as he waited for confirmation that he was correct to assume to which Aerly gave a gentle nod. "Look if you've come here to do some typical alpha male type show. Knock me on the head drag me to your cave" she groaned seeming unimpressed by the young man over the matter. "For one I don't live in a cave but please I would like to start" he more asked than anything for a large man he seemed to almost be nervous under the young woman's gaze. "Alright" Aerly answered hesitantly she was expecting his demands of her more than anything. Typical male wolf especially higher-ranking ones and he was preparing to become an Alpha which concerned her on how possessive he will be. "I'm sorry.." the first words caught her by surprise "I was hoping to be more prepared when or if I found you to have my title and everything in order to take care of you—" "I can take care of myself" Aerly snapped causing him to smirk once again. "I can see that" he couldn't help but chuckle over her stubborn ways "that was before I knew what you were like but none the less I was hoping to have had my title and finished with all the other packs so..." his eyes closed for a moment as he released a long breath before leaning closer she wasn't sure what to make of his actions but Aerly wasn't one to back down so she held her ground firmly "I'm sorry truly, this must be quite disappointing for you a twenty-seven-year-old mate still with no title and not even finishing the tasks his father has set out for him." "It isn't you" she sighed at his suddenly vulnerable words "not personally I just never wanted a mate" Aerly spoke the harshness in her voice suddenly vanishing. "You defy the moon goddess?" he questioned eyebrows suddenly furrowing. "No, of course not--" "Then you accept that you have a mate?" he interrupted that playful smirk quick to return her eyes narrowing realising he was toying with her. "No, I just don't like the idea of a mate" "Then you defy the moon goddess?" "Stop it! I'm not playing" she scolded as though he was a child. "My apologies. Look I just wanted to properly meet you alone before I left. I'll be returning in a few days since I have business to deal with" he simply explained. "Oh..." she responded she wasn't sure what to say apart of her was relieved having her mate around was quite daunting but a part of her didn't like the idea "Just wondering you wouldn't happen to know about my mothers family, would you? Her maiden name was Rowe" Aerly suddenly asked. "No, I'm sorry I don't. There are a lot of communities of wolves out there maybe you will get to see some of them one day. I mean I would ask for you to come with me but I'm already aware you will refuse.." he went to extend a hand to her but quickly recoiled before letting a forced smile takes is place across his lips he leaned closer leaving Aerly unsure of his next move once again but he simply placed a kiss to her forehead letting a sudden warmth flood through her system at the contact before he moved and lean his forehead against her own "perhaps one day you will accept me or I will at least earn my place" he spoke barely a whisper before simply pulling away and with it the warmth and comfort he seemed to carry him "until next time darling" the cocky smirk returning as though his tender moment never happened at all before he walked away leaving Aerly on her doorstep in a great ball of confusion. -- It was a cool morning but it didn't phase Aerly in the least. Covered in her golden flecked fur while her paws ran across the crisp frosted grass. Aerly was cursing her endless swirling mind for thinking so much and not enjoying her run as she usually did. The beautiful scenery which welcomed her every morning wasn't holding her attention as it usually did instead the interaction with her mate left her perplexed on the whole matter. Aerly let her paws land on the dirt path and each step she took her human form began to emerge until the slender stunning woman was simply stepping naked through the grass as always. The cool air now tickling her skin without her fur coat to protect her.  "Morning" the unfamiliar voice caught her off guard but she remained with her confident composure and continuing on the path. "Who are you?" she simply questioned seeming quite unphased an unfamiliar voice was only a few feet away from her but Aerly wasn't stupid in her careless gazes towards him it was easy to gather he was a Lycan and no doubt had been left by Raiden. "My name is Niko, I assume you are Aerly?" his piercing blue eyes observed her movements. "I am and I assume Raiden left you here. If it is to help protect the sanctuary I can respect but if it is to watch over me you can certainly leave right now as I do not need protection" she barked her orders towards the taller man who seemed to be smiling at her annoyance. "I'm here to watch over the pack don't worry" he knelt down to the ground and took ahold of the robe she had clearly discarded. His eyes trailing over the golden silk before turning back to her "and why would you be so special that Raiden would leave someone to protect you?" he asked easily lifting himself off the ground to stand once again "hmm?" Niko tossed the robe towards the silver-eyed wolf who snatched it mid-air. "Not your concern" Aerly spoke while slipping the robe on and tying it off around her waist. "Is it because you're his mate?" That was enough for her to look like a deer in headlights. Completely caught off guard and cursing Raiden under her breath "don't worry I'm the only one who knows I am his Beta after all. Anyway, now you're semi-dressed come along we have some things to discuss."
