The muddy paws thumped against the ground at great speeds. Aerly needed her run, she always needed her run. While the sun spread its light across the land highlighting the colours of fall that surrounded her. Aerly listened to the rustling leaves and the twigs snapping with each heavy footstep she took. After the day she had the day before there was nothing like a good run to get her mind off of it though she was fuming over Niko's and Eli's abrupt visits talking about her future. Whatever Aerly wanted to do was up to her and she wasn't going to let anyone force her into anything she didn't want. Especially since it had finally settled in that her future, a future she always assumed would be in the Sanctuary wasn't meant to be there at all but away amongst the Lycans, the pure breeds Aerly was so sure she despised. After twenty-two year of life, she had always been so certain of things and set in her ways but in only a few days her entire future had changed much to her disliking but no matter what had happened Aerly could still run. Still let her fur tussle in the wind, her paws sink into the earth but even that was disrupted hearing the sound of heavy footsteps not far behind.
Aerly's ears perked and her silver eyes shifted from side to side for a moment as she continued to dart through trees and scrub. It someone was following her it would only be soon enough that they made themselves known considering Aerly knew the woods like the back of her hand. After a few swift turns, she could hear that the steps were now ahead of her and she could catch them by surprise. Aerly ducked low and began to prowl readying herself to pounce on her prey. Careful step after careful step avoiding to make any sound as she neared the other wolf who had seemed to stop. She lowered her body behind a bush a few feet away while her hind legs remained high ready to jump. After another minute her back paws launched her off jumping through the air and barging into the other wolf tackling it into the ground. She released a vicious snarl even though she already knew who it was as her paws pressed into the grey wolf's side it didn't so much as whimper just stilled with his eyes playful those blue eyes that seemed to see straight into the depths of her soul.
Aerly let her body reshape. Bones cracking and reforming herself until she was back into the form of her human half, her hand grasped around the throat of the wolf and her eyes narrowing "why are you following me?" she growled out through gritted teeth. The wolf stirred beneath her till it was on it's back then barely a blink of an eye Raiden lay beneath her.
"I just wanted to see you" he spoke his eyes glued to her making her realise more they were both completely naked and though Aerly didn't care much about nudity their position was quite confronting she didn't budge her handheld his throat with that fierce blaze in her eyes.
"You're staying in my home, Raiden you could see me anytime" she growled her jaw snapping open and closed "I know what you're doing. You're trying to ensure we bond."
He chuckled and let his large hand rest over her forearm "I'm not hiding that, Darling. Of course, I want to bond you're my mate."
"Then you clearly don't respect my wishes. I've told you what I wanted" she relinquished her hand but Raiden didn't he kept his gentle hold on her forearm before gliding his hand along the bare skin of her arm.
"I do but as much as you resist I'm not denying to pull. So I'm drawn to you. I'm always going to be drawn to you, Aerly I can't nor do I want to control my connection to my mate" he was speaking softly as he eased up from the ground a single elbow supporting his large frame.
"Raiden..." She sighed pulling her arm from his soothing touch to help support herself and stand up.
"I know... You've told me but now I'm telling you my end of this" Raiden spoke pulling himself to his feet. Her eyebrows furrowed for a moment she had seen him naked already but wondering how she didn't notice the scaring across around his neck and wrists. Large hooped scars leaving the clear impressions of chains "Aerly?"
"Yes.." she quickly adjusted her gaze from his body trying to redirect it to his face.
He let out a sigh as his hand aimlessly rubbed at his wrist " there nothing. Just wounds from battle. A warrior tends to always leave with a new scar" he spoke but his voice held a sadness as his eyes trailed to old wounds on his wrist.
"I agreed to a date, Raiden and I won't avoid you but..." she brushed the long honey strands of hair from her face "I need time. To find my own path, be my own wolf. We are joined yes and always will be but we are also separate. Two different wolves who need to find their own way" the aggression in her voice had become lost as she empathised with her mate. The strong, strapping Alpha wolf he was there was no real denying him and she would never have it in her heart to choose to challenge him so there it remained between them a connection longing to be joined but held off.
"We could do these things together though. Perhaps it's why we found each other now because we need each other. Perhaps we are the key to solving each others problems" Raiden explained as he began to step closer but Aerly scoffed.
"Is that what it is about? You just want my help to become the Almighty Alpha of the region" Aerly spoke in disgust of the thought.
"No, Aerly of course not. I want us to be together we are destined by fate and maybe just maybe they brought us together now because we need each other the most now" Raiden attempted to reason as he once again attempted to step closer.
Aerly shook her head suddenly "No, Raiden... I'm just... I'm just not ready" Aerly spoke rather weakly for the usually strong Alpha before she quickly changed to her wolf form and scampered back into the bush.
