“So we passed the inspection?” Layla Morgan asked. She turned towards her partner, Bonnie Spinner. She held her hands. “And the numbers are all correct?”
“Yes, the bank approved everything.” Selene folded her hands over the real estate papers she’d been pouring over all morning. She’d had to call the couple to come back in and sign a form she’d forgotten to include, but they’d thought the worse. Selene realized she needed to be gentler on the phone. Doing divorces had led her to be more straight forward, no nuance in her tone, lest someone think she was playing favourites.
