Chapter Two

Before Joyce and Richard ended their relationship, Joyce Quinn, a young lady in her late twenties,served as a CEO of Bloom, a weather forecasting company,where she worked. With years of experience in weather predictions, Joyce held a professional reputation and expected others to adhere to her expertise.

Nevertheless,Joyce is a refined perfectionist who meticulously double-checks everything she undertakes. Her perfectionist nature influenced various aspects of her life, from work matters to her romantic relationships.

Joyce was engaged to Richard Wilson,who was not only her fiance but also her colleague;they had been in a relationship for eight years and were preparing for their upcoming wedding in a few weeks.

Their love was so deep that they jointly purchased properties in anticipation of their marriage. Joyce made significant sacrifices for Richard,such as buying him a million-dollar apartment when he faced accommodation issues. Additionally,she assisted him by providing well-researched information for the weather forecast.

Everything was set for the wedding, including the venue being booked, invitations sent out and caterers having finalized the menu for the special day,featuring continental dishes.

Joyce and Richard desired an elegant wedding celebration,so they extended invitations only to those who held significance in their lives. Everyone, including their colleagues at the office,was preparing for this momentous occasion.

Certain co-workers admired them,as they appeared lovely together as couples. Richard,tall and masculine with a well-groomed beard,had a charming appearance akin to a prince. On the other hand,Joyce,a beautiful woman of average height,exuded a sophisticated charm.

Joyce Quinn,who was busy with wedding preparations,had a lot of tasks to complete as she was planning to take an extended break for her honeymoon with her prospective husband, Richard Wilson.

Throughout this time,she rarely found time for lunch, which she typically shares with Richard. Instead, she utilized her lunch break for weather analysis before the end of the workday.

However,one fateful day while analyzing the weather, Joyce went to the cafeteria to get some water. Upon arrival,she noticed her fiance Richard sitting with Emma,her secretary, engaged in a discussion. Joyce simply grabbed her water and Left without interacting with them.

Joyce had noticed Richard and Emma conversing together on multiple occasions.She then confronted Richard,asking, “Why do I frequently see you with my secretary during lunch hour?” Richard reassures her, saying, “It’s nothing serious, darling. We just discuss work and how to excel in our roles for potential promotions.”

“Is that the case?” Joyce asked, trying to reassure herself of the truth. “Yes,my dear,nothing beyond that,” Richard replied confidently, reassuring her that there was no cause for concern. “ Alright then,I'll see you after work,” Joyce responded with a smile. They exchanged forehead kisses, affirming their love before returning to work.

The next day,Richard had lunch by himself,enjoying spaghetti,eggs and orange juice since Joyce was too busy to join him. Emma approached him and asked, “Hello, Richard,may I join you?”

“Of course,” Richard replied, making space for her.

“How’s work been and how's Joyce,my soon-to-be wife?” Richard inquired. “She's doing well,”Emma responded.

Emma and Richard finished their meal and then Emma asked Richard for help to stand up. Richard,being a gentleman,assisted her and unintentionally continued holding her hand after she stood up.

As Joyce went to get some juice,she saw Richard and Emma's hand together. Upon noticing Joyce,Emma quickly remarked to Richard, “Oh, my palm hurts.” Richard then looked at Emma's palm and asked her about it.

Upon reaching where Emma and Richard were, Joyce stared at them for a moment, then let out a hiss and walked away, ignoring Richard's attempt to explain the situation.

Emma returned to the office, and Joyce summoned her. “Ma'am you asked for me?” said Emma. “ Emma,I need to caution you about spending time with Richard,my fiance. We're getting married soon,and I don't want you near him anymore. I don't care what your conversations are about,but I want you to stay away from him. Is that clear?” Joyce asserted.

“Understood, ma'am,”Emma replied innocently,then returned to her desk. Meanwhile, Richard went to Joyce's office intending to explain,but he paused at the door upon hearing what Joyce was saying to Emma,her secretary.

After Emma left,he stepped into the office, “ I was heading to your office when I overheard what you were saying to Emma. Why are you so insecure? I've repeatedly told you that there's nothing between Emma and myself,yet you still chose to scold her,” Richard said in frustration.

“You've always been the one dictating what should or shouldn't be done. Why are you so controlling, Joyce?” Richard continued. Upon hearing this,Joyce stated that she wasn't ready to have that conversation and then instructed him to leave her office as she needed some privacy.

Richard proceeded to search for Emma in order to apologize to her,as he truly had no involvement with her. Emma,on the other hand, accepted his apology and invited him to a friend's birthday party that evening.

However, Richard accepted Emma's invitation because he just wanted to make up for how Joyce spoke to her earlier.

In the evening after work, Emma was at the party anticipating Richard's arrival. Meanwhile,Joyce remained occupied with work, although she intended to go to Richard's apartment later to apologize for her behavior in the office.

Richard dressed up and went to join Emma at her friend's party. Upon arriving,he noticed everyone was elegantly dressed, particularly Emma. “You look fantastic,Emma,”Richard complimented her.

They exchanged greetings and then proceeded to have some drinks while engaging in a conversation about various topics.

However,it was at this party that Emma initiated a seduction of Richard, leading to their eventual s****l encounter. Joyce caught them in the act,when she visited Richard's apartment unannounced. This ultimately resulted in the official breakup between Richard and Joyce.
