HER DESIRE

Sneaking down the stairway, Victoria made her flight to freedom. When she met the accusing glare of her sister Brittany who stood below her on the landing, she stopped in her tracks. "Where are you sneaking off to Vicky?" "You know Dad will be furious if he returns to find that you've gone out again, despite his warnings, " Brittany reminded her as she went closer to her and eyed her suspiciously. "Pfft am not sneaking off". "Uhm... I was just going out to the balcony to get fresh air and look around." Brittany looked at her from head to toe, then inched closer and took a sniff of her "Oh! wow! So you are wearing the clothes and limited edition accessories you bought last week, plus the perfume Dad bought for us the last time he went to France just to get fresh air and look around? And at the balcony too? Victoria knew that she had been found out, so she decided to stop lying and said " Alright, you got me." " am going to meet Mark at the club downtown." " You could join me, he's coming with his friends so you won't be by yourself" her tone was coaxing, hoping that just once Brittany would give in and not report her She shook her head despairingly. "I can't." " Dad forbids it and I dare not disobey him". Brittany peered into the shimmering blue eyes that were always so full of life and adventure. Victoria possessed all the beauty and strong characteristics that Brittany would have loved to claim as her own. They were both born of the same parents but one always had things going for her in all aspects relationship-wise while the other always had the same ending, which was not always pleasant. Brittany was beautiful no doubt with her brown curly hair which went all the way down to her waist. She always wished that she could have a relationship like her sister's which has been going on for six years. Although their parents are not in support of the relationship, Mark isn't well-to-do. Brittany mused as she stared into the blue eyes that waited, widening in anticipation. "I won't betray you, Vicky, " she assured her. "Go on". Victoria stepped down beside Brittany on the landing and touched her arm " Thank you Brit, You are sure you don't wanna come with me?" she asked her with a rueful smile on her lips. "Someone has to stay back and cover your mess" "You had better get going before I change my mind," Brittany said. Victoria blew her a kiss and continued on her way. She stepped out through the back door and glanced carefully to make sure no one would see her. When she was sure there was no one around, she made her way to the side of the fence where she had seen the housekeeper leave a ladder several times. She had already sent Mark a text on her way there, so he was waiting to help her down on the other side. She quickly climbed the ladder and looked over to see Mark standing there. She made her way over and he helped her down. They made their way to Mark's car which he had parked nearby. When they boarded the car, Victoria sighed in relief. Mark looked at her "I wish I had money, Vicky", " You wouldn't have had to go through all this, "He said sadly. Victoria quickly looked at him and said "You are the only thing that matters to me, Mark " "Rich or poor, I love you and that's what matters " "Now let's get going". Mark gave her a peck, ignited the car, and hit the road. When they arrived at the club, everywhere was bustling and a lot of people were going in and out. Mark told her to wait for him in the car before he left. Victoria sat inside the car and was looking around when someone tapped on the window, She turned to see a girl who was wearing a crop top and rugged bum shorts with sprayed green hair that was packed into a ponytail at the two sides with lots of piercings looking at her. Vicky wound down the window "May I help you?" The girl scanned her and said "So you are the one, Mark's not who you think. Either leave him or be careful" After saying, that she turned and left as quickly as she came. Victoria was stunned for some minutes before she wound up the window and decided to play some music. She was still fiddling with her phone when she heard another tap on the window. She quickly turned thinking that it was the mysterious girl but she was shocked when she saw that it was William. He was the son of Vicky's father's friend who had died with his wife in an accident when he was just 10. Vicky's father had taken him in since then and Victoria and Brittany took him as their brother since they had none. Few people knew that he wasn't from the Green family but others believed that he was their son and brother. Victoria quickly opened the car door and came down. "What are you doing here Willy?" "How did you know to find me here?" William sighed at the questions that she was asking "Dad's on his way home!" "Wait!, What!" Victoria panicked. If her dad were to find out that she had gone out with Mark again, he would kill her especially when they had to visit a nightclub of all places. "We have to go now, Vicky" "I should tell Mark, so he won't get worried when he comes back and doesn't see me" "The person you should be worried about right now is you!". "Vicky! If your dad finds out about this, You might never see Mark again" "I will give him a call then" William led her to the car and they drove off. Meanwhile Back at the Greens mansion, a storm was brewing. Victoria's dad had come back earlier than they had expected. He had come home and requested his family, only to meet just Brittany and his wife. Without being told, he already knew what Anna was up to, and that pissed him off. A few minutes later, Vicky got back home with William and realized that her dad was already back before them, She knew she was in huge trouble but she put on a brave face and headed into the house. Vicky had only taken a few steps when she heard a low voice "Where are you coming back from?" She knew without asking who that voice belonged to. Vicky turned slowly toward the direction of the voice and said... "Hey, Dad! Welcome Home! How was your trip?" "I asked you a question Victoria! Don't make me repeat myself" He warned. "I went out Dad". Vicky said trying to think up a lie but her father knew her too well to leave it at that. " I know you went out Victoria! My question is where did you go and with whom?" "Don't even think about lying to me young lady because I'll investigate". Vicky decided to tell the truth, so she said " I went to a nightclub with Mark!" "Am sorry for disobeying you, Dad". " Her father sucked in a deep breath before saying"Since you love this boy so much and keep disobeying me because of him, I will give you both a chance, get Mark to come to see me for your marriage this week, or forget about him.
