Audrey gasped! Coughing out a mouthful of water, she held her burning throat that felt as if she just drowned. Her eyes slowly regained focus as she takes in her surroundings. Two maidservants knelt beside her, a look of relief on their faces as she regained consciousness. “Oh, Young Miss, thank the moon goddess you're alive. I thought I lost you” one of the maid said, tears brimming in her eyes as she clutched Audrey's hands. Before Audrey could process what's going on, the door slammed open and an angry looking woman entered, walking straight to Audrey. Slap! We have raised you for so many years and yet you still want to commit suicide?” The woman said pointing at Audrey with trembling fingers, her chest heaving from anger. Anger surged through her, accompanied by a heart-wrenching pain, she clenched her hands into fist, her eyes bloodshot as her mind was filled with that vicious face. Sydney!
