Indigo: Her Redemption Mates

I didn't get any sleep last night like every night, Since I was ten years old I've become afraid to sleep. The only time I get any real sleep is when I stay over at my friends houses. My father doesn't like when I do that though. At the age ten after my mother died from cancer my father turned into an mean man he started abusing me at first it was just words to mentally break me and the older i got it started turning physical it was just small things here and there but not Im afraid for my life most nights. Your probably wondering why I don't just leave well even if I did he would find me, my father is in the military so he can find me and it just makes me fear him even more. My mother was a loving person, caring and was my best friend when I was little, I miss her everyday, most days I wish she took me with her. Now back to where I was before I got distracted, I didn't get any sleep last night like always but I can't just lay around all day because I have to get to school. I almost forgot to introduce myself, hello my name is Indigo River, yes that's my whole name no middle name my mother liked it that way, all my friends call my indi though. Now back to my morning, I roll out of my crappy bed that's falling apart, looking around my room there isn't much just a bed, a small table and chair, and a dresser for my cloths and one picture and its of my and my mother when i was a baby. I don't have many pictures of me and my mom because my father burned them all one day as a punishment for not having his dinner and beer ready when he walked into the house. I managed to save this one though and only take it out when im home other then that it always stays in my backpack with me. After I get out of bed, I open my bedroom door and creep up stairs hoping my father left already most days he's gone before I have to leave for school. My room is in the basement which I truly at because he can lock me down here if he wants to and he has I miss a lot of high school because of that but I still managed to graduate with amazing grades and even scored and full ride to Phoenix Arizona university. Walking up the stairs I don't hear him at all so I let out the breath I was holding in and run up to the bathroom so I can shower. Turning on the water to let it warm up I strip down until im naked. Standing in front of the mirror I can't help but look at myself with disgust, Im five foot two and im way under weight you can see my ribs I know it's not healthy but father doesn't let me eat I get one meal everyday and that's my lunch at school. Im paler then I should be my skin used to be a beautiful tan but now its just pale and sickly looking. Looking at my face my eyes are sunken and have dark circles, making me look forever tired, I used to have long hair but a few years ago I cut it into a pixie cut my father likes to grab me by the hair cutting it short helps with that. My body is covered in scars and fresh bruises ars present from last nights random beating just because he said. Stepping into the shower the hot water hit my body and I instantly relax, After I was my hair and body I wrap a towel around mt body pick up my cloths and run back down to my room. Once in my room I grab some new cloths, i don't wear anything that shows off my body at all everything is big on me. I throw on new underwear and bra, then some jeans that are baggy on me to hide my too skinny legs and a baggy long sleeved shirt that is grey. I then grab my make up bag and start to cover my face so i look less tired, I don't do anything with my hair but let it hair dry on my walk to school. When im done getting ready, I throw on my converse shoes and grab my bag and head off to school. Im only a few months into my first year of college and im loving it, Im extremely start person and love school. Running out the door I held down thr road to my school thankfully its only a few blocks away from my house. During my walk I listen to music from my phone, I only have a phone so my father can get ahold of me. After a twenty minute walk I finally make it to school and go straight for my first class of the day. Im an english major, I want to me a writer or a teacher. If it wasn't my full ride scholarship I wouldn't even be going to college I would be working a full time s**t job somewhere. Walking into my first clas I take a seat and wait for class to begin, oh and to wait for my best friend, lillian we have known each other since we moved here when I was eight right before mom got sick, she doesn't know what I go through at home. Shes a beautiful blonde with amazing curvy body, shes very energetic the opposite of me completely but that's why we get along so well. "hey girly ready for another day of hell" lillian says taking a seat next to me, she hates school but still comes. "Well for you its hell to me it's educational you know since we learn" I say to her, she just shakes her head at me. She doesn't understand why I love school, I tired explaining it once but she just got bored and fell asleep. We end up catching up about our weekends until the teacher walks in and starts class. The first of my classes went by fast, Im now walking to get my lunch my one meal of the day. After that I only have two more classes for the day then I have to rush home and make dinner then hide in my room and pray for no beating tonight then get very little sleep like always. Walking into the massive lunch hall I go and grab a few sandwiches, chips and a water, I can't eat anything too heavy or I'll get sick since my body it's used to food. Finding lilian isn't hard to do she sits in the same spot everyday so I walk over and sit down next to her. We end up talking about something that happened in one of her classes I guess this girl spilt coffee all over one of her teachers and was so embarrassed she ran out crying when everyone started laughing. She was talking to me about a party this weekend she wants me to go to with her but I always turn her down but she still always asks. She was in middle of asking me to join her when the whole lunch hall went silent and that only means one thing Skye Black and his friends just walked into the lunch hall. Every girl drools over him, I mean yes he is hot as hell with his long black hair and green eyes, and his body so well toned from what i can see with cloths on him. Being hot isn't everything though, Skye is a player always has a new girl on his arm this weeks girl is Cora Williams shes the schools w***e but she always throws herself at Skye the most and he lets her. I do everything in my power to avoid them both so when they walk away from the door I always get up and leave. Lilian is drooling like all the other girls in the room so I just say goodbye and head to the doors. Walking right past where Skye and his group sat down. When I walk past mine and Skye's eyes meet and I swear they changed from light green to a darker green but I shake my head and keep walking.
