You're my Mate?

I open my eyes to see that it's only 4 in the morning. Why I'm up so early is beyond me but at least I have time to get ready. My name is Mia Andrews and today is my birthday. I'm officially 18 years old. I am officially old enough to take over as the first ever female Alpha of the Silver Lake Pack and let me tell you the struggle between wanting to go find my mate or become Alpha was so hard. You see I'm a werewolf and normally girls my age are already with their mate and planning their future. When we turn 16 is when we find our mates and shift for the first time. Most of my friends have already met theirs. Not me and I guess that's okay. I know I'm not the hottest and most popular girl but I made up for that when I trained with my dad and the warriors of the pack, and when I graduated I was a straight A student, but the guys around and some of the girls say I don't have a mate. They say I'm doomed to be alone forever. All because my dad refused to let someone outside of the family take over as Alpha. He once told me that was because he didn't want anyone to take my birthright away from me and that it was my choice if I wanted it or not. That day I made the decision if I didn't find my mate then I will accept the Alpha title. I haven't found him and so today I will be telling my father that I accept. After thinking long and hard about my decision I decide to take a shower. I move my blankets back and sit up so I can get out of bed and head to the bathroom. I swing my legs off the left side and head straight towards the bathroom closing the door behind me. I quickly shower and wrap myself in a towel. I looked in the mirror as I was drying my hair with a towel and I couldn't help but wonder, am I really doomed to be alone? My red hair is medium length, and my blue eyes aren't big. I'm not fat, but im not skinny either. I'm a great weight and my muscle tone is normal for someone like me. 'You are beautiful Mia. Don't ever let anyone tell you different.' My wolf Kylie tells me as I stand and judge myself. 'I know you tell me all the time but I still feel like I'm never gonna meet him. And if I do will he accept me as me or reject me?' She's quiet for a few second then makes her decision. 'If he rejects you then it's his loss. I will always be with you and stand by your choices no matter what.' I smiled in the mirror and felt confident enough to head downstairs. Making my way downstairs and into the kitchen I notice the only one there is Anna Parker. She cooks for those of us who live in the pack house. Unlike most Packs we have never assigned anyone with the cooking and cleaning for us. Anna asked if it was a job available because that's what she went to school for and of course my father agreed and they came up with a great solution to the pay. She gets paid every week and she also has her own room in the pack house. She definitely deserves it. Her cooking is amazing. Anna turned around and seen me while she was grabbing eggs and milk. "Good morning, Mia would you like to help me with breakfast today?" She asks me while getting the bowls she needs to start. "I would love to Anna, thanks." I replied with a huge smile on my face. Anna is the only one who doesnt call me Miss or Future Alpha and I'm so grateful for it. Ever since we turned 16 my friends and I have drifted apart, except Anna and Amanda Harris. Amanda and I have been best friends since 3rd grade. Even in high school when she looked like she was turning into a mean girl, which she totally was to a point, she always stayed by my side and always picked me up when I was feeling down. She found her mate, Chris, when we entered school on her birthday 2 years ago. Mandy, the nickname only Chris and I are allowed to call her, is 3 days older than me and since becoming friends we've spent every birthday together. Chris knew that would never change and he was happy about that. He is my fathers Beta, Shawn Eversons son. Our fathers were happy we got along and even happier when I asked Chris to be my Beta. As I was thinking we were working. Anna turned on some music so we could work and in about 2 hours we were done. I looked at the clock and noticed it was already 7 in the morning. I knew my father would be down soon along with Chris and Mandy. But I wasn't expecting Beta Shawn to be down before them. "Good morning Mia and Happy Birthday." He said with a smile. "Good morning Shawn and thank you." I smiled back at him. He understood how I felt about not meeting my mate so he always tries his best to make sure I'm smiling. After saying our good mornings and grabbing some food we sat down at the table and watched as everyone came down starting with my father and besties. As they were sitting down my father and Shawn starting talking about a meeting with another pack. "Which Pack is coming dad?" "The Blood Moon Pack. Their alpha is hoping to find his mate here. He has been looking for six years for her." "But Damien I have heard that he is the most ruthless of all Alphas. What if his mate is here and he is just like the rumors?" My mother voiced her concerns. She is the most gentle and caring luna but can also be very ruthless when it comes to protecting her family and pack. "Don't worry Elaine, I'm sure he will treat whichever she-wolf that is his mate as well as every wolf does." Shawn replied to assure my mother. She gave him a smile and nodded her head. It wasn't unheard of for some male werewolves to treat their mates wrong. It was rare actually but my mother still worried about her pack members which gave me great pride in both of my parents. They were the reason I have decided to become Alpha. Just as we were finishing breakfast my wolf started getting stir crazy and causing a headache. 'Kylie are you okay? Is there something wrong?' I asked her in my head. 'I don't know something is going to happen I can feel it.' she replied. 'Maybe I should head upstairs and start getting ready for the meeting. it might calm you down.' She seemed okay with that idea so I grabbed Mandys arm and dragged her with me towards the stairs. She didn't seem fazed as she knows I only do that when I have to dress to impress. She started to giggle when Chris acted hurt. He also knew how I was when it came to picking something out for meetings and celebrations. I always needed my best friend. We were climbing the stairs and discussing outfits when Kylie started calming down and my headache started going away. As we reached my bedroom she quickly shoved me inside and I stared at her in confusion. She turned and looked at me for a few moments before speaking to me. "Alright what's going on?" She asked me with worry in her eyes. "I don't know. Kylie just started going crazy in my head. She said something's going to happen but neither of us know what." "Well are you going to be okay to go to the meeting and your party? Because if not we can stay inside and watch tv and tell everyone to shove it." She replied while putting her hands on her hips. She was really confident but I mean with her looks who wouldn't be. She was absolutely gorgeous with her long dirty blond hair and hazel eyes. Her body looked like a models even though she ate more then half of the men. I couldn't help myself but laugh knowing that I couldn't skip either but she made me feel better after all. "You know very well that I can't do that. But thanks Mandy, you really are my best friend." "Well of course hun I'm always here for you no matter what." We started looking through my closet and finally settled on a knee length sundress and some flats for the meeting since it was just a formality, and a cute short and tshirt combo with flip flops for my party. It only took us about 30 minutes to find the outfits so for the next hour and a half we were just gossiping and discussing the future. Finally a knock ended our conversation and I answered the door to find Chris standing there with a smile on his face. "The Blood Moon Pack should be here in about 2 hours. All of the rooms have been prepared for the guests but the Alpha and his Beta are going to be up here on your floor since there are no rooms left downstairs. Maybe one of them is your mate." He finished with a wiggle of his eyebrows. Him and his dad are both hopeful I will find my mate and it makes me feel so loved. "Thank you Chris and you know I would be hopeful but I'm starting to believe our classmates. Maybe I am doomed to be alone forever. Maybe the Moon Goddess has different plans for me." I tried to say confidently but I know the look in my eyes showed sadness and hurt. Why couldn't I be lucky and find him 2 years ago? 'Don't worry girl everything will work out in the end. The Moon Goddess would never leave a wolf without a mate.' Kylie confirmed in my head. I believed her it just didn't stop the hurt that I was feeling. I decided to push the hurt aside and be happy for the day. We decided to just hang out in my room and watch some tv until the meeting. My father sent a message through our link to let me know that the Blood Moon Pack wouldn't be showing up until my party. I guess they had a delay and would be late getting here. That was fine by us as we decided to go to the mall for a little bit before getting ready for my party. I grabbed my keys since I knew I would be the one driving. Mandy shut the tv off and put the remote back on my stand beside my bed and shut the door on her way out. We then headed downstairs to let my parents know that we were leaving. When we reached the bottom of the stairs I turned right down the hallway to my dads office. "Hey dad we are gonna head to the mall to get a few things for the party do you need anything?" I asked him as I entered his office. "No but you might need this." He said holding out a brand new credit card. "Thanks dad. What's the limit?" "There isn't one. I know you won't go crazy with it but if you ever have an emergency I would be happy knowing you have it." "Thanks dad. We shouldn't be too long I still need to get ready for the party and so does Mandy." And with that I waved goodbye, told him I loved him and walked away. Chris and Mandy were already waiting by the car. "You ready girlie?" Mandy asked as she climbed in the front while Chris was in the back. He never complained about being stuck in the back even though Mandy has tried to get him to switch with her he simply refuses. "Yupp all set. Let's gets rolling." And with that we climbed in the car and were on our way. I couldn't shake the feeling that something was going to happen tonight at my party. I just hope it's nothing bad.
