You're my Mate?

Getting my mark.

The next morning I woke up alone and was a little disappointed until I looked at the time I realized I was late for training. Normally I wouldn't care about missing a training session but now that Xander is my mate I want to be strong like him. I know I'm strong but he is famous for being the toughest and strongest Alpha. I quickly threw on my training clothes, a dark blue t-shirt, black leggings that stopped at my knee, and my sneakers. I then grabbed my gym bag and rushed out of my room. Just as I neared the stairs I ran into a hard rock chest. When I looked to see who it was I almost died inside. It was Blake Harris, Mandys older brother. He left for college two years ago and he should've stayed gone. He tried to convince some of the pack members that he was going to be my chosen Mate since I hadn't found my fated mate. As if I would ever agree to it. He has been a thorn in my side ever since Mandy and I became friends. He never showed me any kindness until I turned 16 and even then I knew it was fake. Everyone knew he only wanted power and since I'm the daughter of the Alpha he wants the power and strength that runs through my veins. I faked a smile and tried to go around him.

"What's the rush baby girl, don't you want to see your chosen mate?" He said with an evil grin.

"I have a mate now so you can forget about that. Also I'm late for training." I replied through gritted teeth. I refused to let him think he has a chance with me. Even if Xander wasn't my mate I would never be with Blake. He was my biggest and only tormentor in school. When he left I was happy as hell because I was free.

"Oh is that so, then where is he?" He was being really cocky and pissing me off. Of course he didn't notice Xander coming up the stairs, but I did through our mate bond. I moved to the side so he could see me and I noticed he looked angry. I probably should have been scared but his anger didn't faze me one bit.

"I'm right here and, if you don't mind, I will be taking my Luna to her training session before our meeting." He said with a growl and emphasis on calling me his Luna. Blakes face turned white when he turned around to see who had claimed me as their mate. I passed Blake and walked right into Xanders arms for a very welcoming hug. He relaxed me and I needed it right now. Blake always made me feel uncomfortable just from standing near me. But when I was in Xanders arms I felt safe and secure.

"Alpha Xander, it's good to finally meet you." Blake said while looking like he wanted to run away. I found it amusing and had to fight back my laughter. Xander didn't say anything to him he just released me from the hug but kept his arm around my shoulder. He glared at Blake and turned us around to head down the stairs. We were silent on the way down but mostly because I was annoyed with myself for not paying attention.

"I hate him." I said when we reached the bottom.

"Who is he and why did he call you his chosen mate?" Xander asked in a very serious tone. His eyes still showed a little anger and I think a hint of jealousy. Honestly it was a complete turn on.

"My best friend Mandys older brother. He had it in his head that when he came back from college I would choose him as my mate. He tried to convince my friends of that too but I could never stand to be near him. He only cares about power not the pack." I answered him truthfully and before I could say anything more Mandy, who just rounded the corner, spoke up.

"Did Blake seriously go looking for you? After I already told him to leave you alone. I will never understand why so many females want him. I would never allow you to be with him. No matter what it cost me. He is the most egotistical, power hungry boy I have ever known. I will not allow him to try to hurt you or this pack." She said with a disgusted look on her face. I could never understand how they were related. While Blake was the biggest bully ever, Mandy was sweet and always treated everyone in the pack like they mattered and always tried to give them jobs that suited them best. She had a mean girl look and she could pull off the attitude but she never lived up to it's status. She always stuck up for me especially when it came to Blake.

"I will always be grateful for you and how much care about me. Neither of you need to worry about him. But right now we gotta go." I said to Mandy and Xander as he opened the door so we could leave for the training grounds. The training grounds are a twenty minute run for us but we didn't have time to run today. Luckily I had my spare keys to my car in my bag. Xander snatched them out of my hand and got in the driver side. I didn't argue mostly because we didn't have time. Mandy got in back as I climbed up front. I soon realized why he wanted to drive as he hit the gas and sped off towards the training center. He drove like a maniac but neither of us girls cared. We made it in about 4 minutes and both of us girls hopped out as soon as he stopped. When we entered the building we saw that Beta Shawn had everyone paired up. So we quickly joined them and started the training session. About two hours later, the session was ended. I figured it was because of the Alpha meeting. So Xander drove us home and walked me to my room. We walked inside and up the stairs to my floor. When we got there I noticed a different guy in Xanders room. I was going to question it but when we entered my room I noticed his suitcases by my couch. I turned around to face him when I heard him shut my door. He moved quickly to me and pulled me in for a kiss. It was like he was holding it in all morning but I didn't mind I needed it. He picked me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist as he deepened the kiss. We parted so we could catch our breath and he set me down so I was standing again.

"Go and get ready for the meeting I will be waiting for you." While he spoke I noticed his eyes switching from their normal green to wolf amber. He has great control and damn that pissed me off. His voice was no help with how husky it was. I was also starting to realize he was a man of few words. I was hoping he would complete the bond by fully mating and marking me. To a regular human this would be way too soon but most wolves complete the bond within a few hours of meeting. I guess we would have to talk about that after the meeting. I grabbed a pair of shorts, a t-shirt with the words live free on it and went for a quick shower. I opened the bathroom door and Xander was talking to the man that was standing in the doorway his old room. They both turned to me and I looked at the stranger, who was smiling like an i***t. I was looking at him confused and curious to know who he was.

"I wanted to introduce you to my Beta, Max Williams. He will be in my old room and with you when I can't be." Xander said to me while Max bowed but never lost his smile.

"It's great to meet you Luna."

"Thank you Max, I'm Mia. I would also prefer if you called me by my name. It would make me feel much better." I said while I stretched my hand out for him. He gladly shook it when Xander nodded his approval. We then left my room and headed for the office. If you're wondering why I would need a bodyguard it's because the Luna of the pack is always protected. She is the love and support of both the Alpha and the pack members. Being the Luna of any pack means that you are going to help the Alpha with everything he needs as well as be the mother and friend to the pack. Hurting the Luna hurts not only the Alpha but the all of the pack members as the Luna is connected to them all just like the Alpha. We reached the office and I knocked on the door before opening it. The three of us entered and when we were seated the meeting began. Dad and Xander discussed pack business and that seemed to take forever. I was starting to get hungry when the topic of Blood Moons departure was suggested.

"I would like to take Mia to our home by tomorrow if she is ready." Both of them looked at me but I only looked at Xander. I smiled and nodded vigorously. I was excited to see his home and meet the pack. My dad nodded his approval and asked me who I thought he should start training to become Alpha since I was his only child.

"Honestly I choose Chris. He is the only one besides me who knows the pack business, how to run the pack, and has the respect of the pack members." I didn't even need to think about it. I wouldn't want anyone else to take care of my family and friends. That's what made me want him as my Beta.

"Then I will inform Shawn and the rest of the pack tomorrow before you leave. Shawn will be so proud of his son and with Chris already meeting his mate we will have both the Luna and Alpha ceremonies together." With that we concluded the meeting. When I looked at the clock I found it was almost time for dinner. The meeting took longer then expected so I decided to check on Anna and see what she was making. Xander had to take a call but held Max back so they could talk. He kissed my forehead and I walked towards the kitchen with a smile on my face. Until I turned into the kitchen and seen Blake holding a beer while trying to flirt with Anna who had a blank expression on her face.

"Leave her alone Blake. She clearly doesn't care about whatever you were saying. Might I also remind you that she is working right now and does not need the distraction of your awful flirting to keep her from doing her job." Anna snickered but Blake sneered at me. He went to say something but Max came in and stood behind me. He headed towards the back door mumbling something I chose to ignore. When the door shut Anna thanked me quietly and continued with what she was doing. She took a glance at Max and her eyes grew wide. Anna was a year older then me but she was like me when it came to the mate thing. So when I saw her eyes I watched as Max walked around me, took her in his arms, and called her his mate. She snuggled right into him and I snuck out of the kitchen. But not with out a couple of menus. I wanted to spend time in my room with Xander while we watched tv and enjoyed being alone together. I headed up to my room and I smelled his scent outside my door. I walked in and noticed he was in the shower so I took the initiative to call and order some chinese. I stood facing the TV, which I had to mute so I could place the order. I wasn't sure what he liked so I got a little bit of everything and used my new card to pay. When I hung up from the call I turned to see Xander staring at me.

"I figured we could hide up here for the night and just spend time alone." I looked him up and down as I spoke and damn he looked good. He was wearing sweatpants but no shirt showing off his 8 pack abs and his beautifully muscled arms. He was gorgeous and when my eyes met his they were a wolf amber. He moved quickly and pulled me in for an even deeper, more passionate kiss that was full of want, and need from both of us. He picked me up and laid me down on my bed with him on top. He only broke the kiss long enough to leave a trail of kisses down my neck only to stop at the spot where his mark would go. He pulled away and looked into my eyes searching for something. I wanted him to know that, even if we didn't mate yet, I still wanted to bear his mark.

"Xander, I want you to mark me." He looked into my eyes and then continued with our heated kiss. When his canines sunk in it hurt but only for a second and then I let out a small moan from the pleasure. He licked my mark and then turned on his side holding me. A few moments later a knock came and I got up to open the door. It was Chris with my food and he noticed my neck. He beamed a smile at me as I said thank you. I grabbed some trays that I kept in the stand by my bed. We watched tv while we ate and Xander cleaned up when we were finished. We talked about Max and Anna as well as us girls moving. I went to brush my teeth and get ready for bed. I came out and seen Xander laying on his back with his hands behind his head waiting for me. I climbed in with him, grabbed the blankets and covered us up as I laid my head on his chest. He put his arms around me and kissed the top of my head.

"Goodnight princess." He said sounding tired.

"Goodnight." I mumbled as I slowly fell asleep.
