Chapter Ten
Relief rushed through Meikah when she spotted Kellan making his way towards her. Remembering his order, she scanned her surroundings before continuing along the street. The entire time it took her to reach the stable, Meikah kept expecting to be caught. She hid behind a couple of barrels that were beside the muck heap, relaxing back against the rear wall of the stable. On the other side of it she could hear the sounds of horses moving and the occasional soft whinny that was answered by a second and sometimes a third horse.
Spotting Kellan coming towards the muck heap, Meikah rose from where she crouched so he could see her. Crouching back down, she smiled at him when he joined her in the small space between the barrels and the wall. The ground was rocky and she could only ass
