"Good morning Ma". Beverly's secretary, Cleo, greeted . "Yes". She replied immediately, walking into her office. She slammed the door shut behind her. Geez! This isn't good at all "But why would a human being decide to be so annoying?". That was a rhetorical question. She threw her bag on the couch in her office and slumped into the next . She sighed in relief. Just as she was about closing her eyes. Her phone started beeping. She checked and it was a video call from Tiffany, her best friend. She let out a long sigh and clicked the accept button. "Hey girl". Tiffany said immediately with a smile. "I'm so angry right now. Would you..." "Calm down Bev. Take a deep breath and talk". She did as her friend said and started explaining everything that happened on her way to work. "Oh My God Bev!" Tiffany exclaimed. "Come on tell me, is he cute?" She asked giggling. "What the hell Tiff. How will I know if he's cute?" Beverly looked surprised. "Why won't you know, I mean you had a conversation with him and I'm sure he wasn't wearing a mask". "A fight actually". She corrected. Tiffany rolled her eyes. "That didn't sound like a fight Bev, He didn't even scratch your car". She shrugged. "Whose side are you on?" Beverly asked raising an eyebrow. "Oh yours actually". "Better, so you should be fighting him too, not trying to make me understand". "You're right. Just that the cute dude didn't say sorry. I'm sure he would have looked cuter". Tiff pouted. "There we go again. I have always known talking to you is such a waste of Time". Beverly rolled her eyes. "Hey don't hang up on me, this is my call". Tiff said suddenly, knowing exactly what her friend wanted to do. "And this is my phone girl, get out!" With that she threw the phone aside and let out a sigh of relief. Resting her head on the back of the chair. Surprisingly; she felt a little better and less angry. This time she looked relaxed but not forgetting to put on her straight face. Suddenly she jerks up... "Dad!" She said and stood up. She was supposed to meet him in his office a few minutes after arrival. But she let the angry thought of a person she didn't know about and wouldn't care to know distract her. Even Tiff. Damn that girl! She stepped out of her office, closing the door behind her. ★★★ Sitting in his luxurious living room and sipping fine wine. Life is good. But this figure didn't look pleasant. His aura was intimidating. His phone started beeping and he picked immediately. "Hello". He said in his croaky and chill voice that it sounded boring and uninteresting to the ear. "Boss, what's the plan?" The caller said. Though sounding urgent. "Await my order. For now do nothing.". "Oh okay Boss". The caller sounded satisfied with the unsatisfied statement. He hung up immediately. He took a deep breath, rested his head and lit up his pipe. ★★★ She walked into her father's office, but before she walked in, she had to confirm from the secretary her father was indeed in the office. "Dad?" She called when she got into the office. "Bev dear, over here". He replied and she followed the sound of his voice. Which led her to ffice living room. She watched him take the last sip of his wine as he dropped the glass. Then sat up. "Daddy, good morning". She greeted. It was the first time seeing him in the morning though. She sat on the next couch beside him. "Nice morning dear. Have a drink". He took another glass cup and was about to pour the wine into it. "Are we celebrating something?" She asked, looking rather clueless. "Do we have to celebrate before we can take wine?" Dad replied. "No..ooo" she replied laughing out loud. "Okay dear. I wanted to let you know that you shouldn't work yourself up today because we'll be leaving early". He smiled at her. "Okay?" She said more like asking a question "why?" "Actually, we're going to Mr. Hamilton's place for dinner". "I knew it, dad. I knew that you were up to something". She said, giving him a knowing look. "Okay, there could be more to it. But till then okay". He patted her back and stood up. "But dad, why not tell me already. I'm guessing it's not a big deal right?" She pouted, giving her father the baby face. But he would rather keep it to himself to avoid tantrums. Yes, he knew his daughter could be a handful sometimes. "Truth is, it's almost not a big deal if you don't make it to be". "If I don't make it to be?" She emphasized on the question, then stood up. "Yes Bev. I have no explanation for it now so let's just go back to work". He urges her while taking a walk to his desk. She trailed behind him. "That is not fair". She frowned. "It's not dark either". He chuckled. "Since you're not going to tell me, I rest my case and I'm going to my office". Sha said, hoping the emotional blackmail would work on him. "Okay dear , go go go". He waved to the door. "Really dad. Are you sending me out?" She said frowned. But her dad chuckled. She walked out of her father's office, closing the door behind her. As they took the elevator going to her office. She couldn't help but think about the whole thing. She couldn't help but think that her father is definitely up to something. "Ma'am, there are files you need to sign here". Her secretary said when she got to her right office lobby. "Okay, bring them in". She said and entered her office.
