he next morning didn’t come fast enough. We stayed up all night watching and waiting for the figure to show itself again. When daylight came it was apparent that wasn’t going to be the case. I trudged upstairs. Leah was already up and dressed getting ready for her day.
“Where have you been?” She asked.
“There was a vampire watching the house last night. We’ve been up all night waiting to see if it was going to show back up.” I said.
“Damn, you didn’t see who or what they looked like?” She asked.
“Nope, but Lucian is going with you girls today along with Terk. They got a few hours of sleep last night. I’m going to crash for a few hours and then go to the clinic. You call me if you need anything.” I told her.
“I will.” She said. “Jake, I love you.”
