Swoonworthy Secrets

We sat on a grassy bank, his back to me as I stood behind him. He looked down at a flower, a forget-me-not. "You do love me, right? You're not just doing this because you feel bad or anything?" I hesitate, unable to speak at such a question. I do love him. Why can't I say it? Why won't it come out of my mouth? Instead I ask, "Why do you ask that? Did I do something to make you question?" He pulls out the forget-me-not and rips it tears it apart, throwing it to the wind. "You forgot. You forgot me. You promised you wouldn't yet... You did. Liar. Such a liar. You have that look. You're trying to remember but you can't figure who I am, can you?" I step back, shock evident on my face. "I... I forgot? Forgot what? You're here so I couldn't forget you... Could I?" He stands up. Turns towards me. I can't make out his features. But he's taller than me. "You did forget me. Your eyes say it. You feel guilty don't you?" My eyes open, the sun filters in through my bedroom curtains. I groan and prop myself up. "That dream again... Who did I forget?" I try hard to remember but nothing comes to mind. I shrug and look out of the window. "Leo! Downstairs! College won't come to you!" My mom shouted at me. I groan again. I forgot. College. My first day. I'd rather sleep. "Coming." I mumble to myself and get up. Getting dressed was painful for me in the morning. All my bones would ache painfully in a chorus. It was like hundreds of pins sticking into me. As I got dressed, the dream came back to me. I don't know why I was set on remembering this person. Maybe he was important? But if I forgot he might not have been important. And love? I loved this person? I couldn't seem to remember anyone in my past as a lover. I trudged downstairs to the smell of waffles. The course I was taking for college was law. As a kid I'd see my dad in all kinds of police work and I was fascinated. I wanted to do good like him. I ate my waffles quickly and disappeared out of the door. The college wasn't too far away. Only about a twenty minute walk but I'd still have to find my dorm and figure out if I have a roommate. I was hoping no because they're a pain to deal with according to my older sister, Lia. I was a rather sunny day with a cool and pleasant wind blowing. I didn't see where I was going and bumped into a guy. He looked preppy, rich and spoiled and looked like... He was going to my college? There was no way because usually rich kids stay away from public places with us. But he seemed rather content. "I'm sorry for bumping into you. I got lost in thought." I said calmly, trying to move past him. He looked me up and down... Rather happily? Then smiled and said. "It's no problem we all have our days, Leo." I stepped back, rather shocked to know a guy I never met knew my name. "You... Know me? How?" He chuckled, albeit nervously and sighed. "Yeah. That's because I asked the teachers to know who'd be in my class. Yep. Anyway I'm Roman." "Uh-huh. You already seem to know me. So you're doing law? You don't seem to be the type." I said it blatantly and factually. Roman laughed. "I may not seem it but i am interested in it very much." We walked side by side, didn't talk much to each other after that. We got to the class. I sat all the way at the back. Roman eyed the front and where I sat, eventually shrugging and sitting next to me. "Why next to me?" I was curious. "Thought you could use a friend." He replied back, smiling. A friend huh?
