My eyes froze as Jaxon paused, his eyes snapping something behind me. Before he could continue with his speech, a figure appeared from behind taking the stage from him as he smiled.
He whispered something to Jaxon before he spoke to the crowd. “Before we proceed, let’s eat, drink and be merry,” the person said as everywhere boomed with cheers and laughter. “The news is a big one, we ought to celebrate before time.” The figure said before stepping down with Jaxon.
The once calm room erupted. An explosion of noise, laughters, jokes, the clatter of chairs scraping back as people surged their feet.
Some where dancing with their omegas, filling the room with joy. I stood frozen, the day seemed to be really bright.
I turned to look for my sis, my eyes flicking around, I finally met her gaze and walked towards her.
“What were you about to tell me before Jaxon started his speech?” My sister asked
“I saw the moon goddess,” my sister choked.
“And why would the goddess waste her precious time to visit you?” She asked mockingly.
“I saw her in my dream sis, I’m being serious.”
“And what did the almighty goddess say?” She asked sarcastically.
“She revealed who my fated mate is.” I answered with a smile.
“So who is this unlucky man?” She asked as she laughed.
“You better stop this your attitude, it’s becoming a bit much,” I said wearing a long face.
“My fated mate is Jaxon.” I said with happiness written over my face.
“Pew!” My sis spilled her drink on her clothes,
“Cut me some slack!” “How will the goddess waste her time on things like you? Take a look at your self, do you really deserve Jaxon?” She asked, I was short of words.
“Just like I expected,” she said as she held my mouth “The goddess can rip you off the title of an omega, be careful.”
I quickly took her hands off my mouth as I made a turn, “Where do you think you are going?” she asked as she pulled me back.
“Leave me be!” I yelled, my voice drawing the attention of everyone in the hall. “I can’t stand here and watch you spill trash about me.” I said as I left the arena to cool off a bit.
As I left the hall, all eyes were focused on me, I couldn’t just hold back anymore. “What are you looking at?” Everyone went back to being noisy.
I left to the palace balcony to get some fresh air since it was the only place that wasn’t crowded.
“Sarah is beginning to act like she owns the world,” I shouted, anger written in my voice. “My fated mate is Jaxon, I know that for sure.” I thought out loud.
The cool atmosphere melted me into thoughts. “Why is my sister acting this way towards me? Am I not worthy of Jaxon? Did the moon goddess lie? But the thread! The brightest star endures the longest night, what did she imply by that?”
I was lost in my thought, oblivious to the tension brewing around me. A suddenly eruption of noise jolted me back into reality. Two alphas were at it, their face twisted in determination for the attention of an omega.
“Now this is not something we see everyday.” I thought to myself.
Alphas never fought for the attention of an omega, it was the other way round.
“Did the moon goddess fate two alpha to an omega?”
The ongoing scenario made me forget the reason I was at the balcony. Soon enough other Alpha came in to stop the fight.
I remained outside till I heard everyone cheering Jaxon. “He’s on the stage.” I thought as I stood erect.
“If I’m really his Luna, he will look for me.” I thought as I looked up to the sky.
“Where’s Elena?” I heard from inside the hall. That was Jaxon’s voice. “Tell Elena to come inside.” He ordered and some maids came to get me.
As I walked back into the hall, everywhere fell quiet, all eyes were fixed on me. Jaxon brought his hands closer as I took them and climbed up to the stage.
“I want to officially introduce my Luna.” Jaxon said breaking the once quiet hall.
“Who is she?” “Is she the one standing besides you?” Some questioned while some argued “It’s definitely Elena!” “Go Elena.”
“Silent” And the hall fell quiet.
“My Luna, is no other one, than, Sarah!”
I was shocked, it can’t be possible, the hall was confused, questions flowing in, some mocking me. It felt like the world was crushing within me.
“How..how is this possible?”
“The thread, it’s still here!”
“You must be joking, answer me?” I screamed at the top of my voice.
“I, Alpha Jaxon, reject you, Elena, as my mate.”
Immediately, the thin thread on Elena’s hand burned, it was left with just scars. He made way to where Sarah was.
“I, Alpha Jaxon, take Sarah, to be my mate, in place of Elena.”
“This can’t be true, it’s not possible.”
I screamed as I ran out of the hall clutching my hands to my heart.
Jaxon chased after me,
“Stop,Elena!” He screamed
I paused for a while
“Haven’t you embarrassed me enough? What more do you want?” I screamed
“You can’t leave the park.”
“Why, why can’t I leave? What more is left of me here?”
“You can still be an omega!” He answered.
The pains was far beyond enduring, I glared at the face of Jaxon with disgust and pain, as I took off.
“I guess the goddess spoke wrongly.” I thought to myself I exited the territory.
