Chapter 5 Issac and Zane

Issac POV

As soon as I walked into the conference room following Beta Frank, I knew that my wolf Zeke was right, Carolina was and is our mate.

“ She is our mate Issac, why do you doubt me? “ Zeke, my wolf asked as he was jumping up and down in my head. ” Sorry buddy, she is beautiful, and she has grown up to be a fine woman.” I tell him

Watching her take sips of her coffee and the smile that showed on her face when her dad walked into the room, took my breath away.

Standing still, my eyes go down her body and back up to her lips, as she bows to both Kyle and I, greeting us. It was Kyle's voice that broke my spell. It felt as though she and I were in the room with no one else around.

As Kyle tells her that she did not have to use his title, I also let her know she did not have to call me by my title either, as far as I was concerned she can call me anything she wanted too, she is my mate.

I watch her smile again, before Kyle mind links me, “ Caroline's your mate, isn’t she?” As he turns his head, so now one would notice that we were mind linking.

“ How did you know? I am trying hard to mask it, if you know then am I that obvious?”

“ No man, not obvious, but everyone in the room knows, including my father.” Fred also tells me through the mind link.

Ugh, I never put my block back up when I was talking with everyone before coming down to help my beautiful mate with the planning of this mission.

“ There may be an issue though, My son Zane has stated that Carolina is also his mate. My guess is one of two things, either one of you is lying or you are both mated to the same wolf.” Alpha Pete has now joined in the mind linking conversation.

“ I think the best solution for now is that we all get back to the situation at hand. My daughter and your mate are going on a mission and we need to make sure that she returns to all of us in one piece. “ Beta Frank states.

“ I agree, but Issac you and I will need to sit down and have a conversation about who’s mate she truly is? I wanted to claim her years ago, but with the wolf laws I was not allowed to claim her until she came to age. “ Zane has now entered the conference room with Alpha Pete behind him.

When Carolina and Frank are looking at the map, I decided that I would walk up behind her and stand, so I can see what she is seeing. My wolf and I want to be close to her, and now with Zane saying that he is her mate as well my own nerves are on edge.

When she steps back so that her father can have a closer look at the maps, and she walks right into me, my heart race picks up, and I feel the sparks from her warm body. I have to try and control my emotions, and to stop myself from taking her in my arms and never letting her go.

I watched Pete and Frank talk about the tunnels, and how they have not been used for years. When her sweet voice cut through and asked if they could still be usable, I can see the wheels in her head start to spin.

Using the mind link, “ Zane, I think it would be best if we send our beta’s with her, if she is going to use those tunnels then you and I can study them while they are getting everything set up to leave.”

“ I can not agree more, but you know our Princess, she will not take our suggestions. Frank , can you tell her that she will need to take Fred and Shawn with her on this mission? I am asking on behalf of both Issac and myself.” Zane says through the mind link. The only person that could not hear us in this room was Carolina herself.

We both watch as Frank nods his head and tells Carolina that she will be taking Fred and Shawn with her. When she turns to them letting them both know that she is in charge. She has the authority about her already and she doesn’t realize it.

Looking down at her, “ I would like for some of my men to go into the tunnels with you and with your other team mates.”

Watching her as my words send shivers over her body, if I wasn’t standing close to her, I would not have noticed it.

Zane calls out to her, “ if I heard correctly through the mind link. We will need to have some of our warriors to reposition the cameras, going off the map that was here, your team may have positioned them incorrectly.”

We both watch as she nods her head, as Kyle starts to the door, “ Carolina be careful out there.” then turning to both Beta’s “ Watch out for her.”

If I didn’t know better, it would have seemed that Kyle was being very protective of her.

Hearing Fred saying that he will protect her, and I know that Shawn will also, made this mission a little more to handle. I was already in love with her, but I have been for years, and could never tell her. Now that I have found out about the girl I fell in love with years ago, and now that she is my mate, I do not want to let her go ever.

The hardest thing for me is watching her go over the plan with everyone, and knowing soon she will be leaving for her mission, and it could go one of two ways. It could go well, with no issues, or there could be an issue, and someone could get hurt.

I am trying to keep myself calm, thinking about when I will be able to tell her that she is my mate, or when she will finally realize that she is my mate. The thoughts of her smile only being for me made me smile.

“ You know that Zane has also claimed her?” My wolf asked me. “ Zeke, do you think that Zane is lying about her being his mate? “

“ No, I think that the moon goddess gave her two mates for a reason. I have spoken with the moon goddess, but she can not give me any answers until our precious mate gets her wolf.” he tells me.

“ Zeke, does Zane’s wolf know the same information?” I asked

“ Yes, we were both present with the moon goddess, and we had the chance to meet our wolf mate.” he says excitedly.

Pulling myself back to the room around me, I noticed that Carolina seems to be a little stiff. Something seems to bother her, and I can not put my finger on it.

I would love nothing more than to walk over to her and throw my arms around her to tell her everything will be fine, but I had to stop myself by putting my hands in my pockets.

Watching as she heads out the door with Fred and Shawn, knowing that the mind link is still open, “ Please keep her safe.” I tell them. Just as Zane tells them in the same mind link, “ She is both your Luna’s and Queen, we need her to return to both her mates.”

Watching her walk out the door to head into danger, my heart falls to my stomach. I know that deep down I can not keep her from what she loves to do, but right now I want nothing more than to keep her safe. I am not sure why there is a feeling of danger as she leaves.

Zane’s POV;

Arriving at the pack house, I heard Kyle ask Issac if my Princess was his mate, and when he had replied yes, my heart sank. How can that be, she is mine, and I have known for years.

Why is Issac telling everyone she is his, when he has been around for the last several years and never noticed that they were mates, I know once I shifted when I turned 18. That is one of the many reasons I have put distance between us, we were all close growing up, Issac, Kyle, Fred , Cole, and Shawn with the little princess following us around all the time.

When Fred first brought her with him, when we went to the lake, I was mad, I didn’t want some she wolf following around us all the time. We all needed our guy time, but after her coming with Fred a couple of times, she became part of our group.

(flashback)

Two nights before my 18th birthday

“Princess what’s wrong?” Fred had asked her when she met up with us at the lake.

Noticing the concern in Fred’s voice, we all looked over at Carolina, she had tears running down her face, and was out of breath. She only responds to Fred by shaking her head, as he wraps his arms around her bringing her into a hug.

“ You know you can tell me anything?” he tells her as she nods her head, but the tears keep coming.

None of us knew why she was crying, because she doesn’t cry over nothing, she has proved to all of us that she is strong, brave and not scared of anything. For her to be crying something had to have happened that she was not willing to share, but that did not stop any of us from asking until she finally broke.

Fred takes her in his arms and sits on the grass with her on his lap, as we all sit around her wondering what could have made her this upset.

“ You all must promise that you will not do anything, or I will not tell you, and if after I tell you, you must let it go and never speak of it again.” she tells us all with a very shaky voice, but continues “ If I find out that something happens after I tell you, I will never speak to any of you again.”

For her to be this upset, but doesn’t want any of us to do anything has all of us worried. She would only say this if she knew we would react to what she told us.

Taking a deep breath, she looks up at Fred as he places a kiss on her forehead, then turns to us all, “ One of the guys that has a crush on me, asked me to go out with him. When I turned him down, he decided that he would get back at me, by telling all his friends that we had been sleeping together. “

“ What! “ Fred yells

Carolina jumps when he yells, but Issace steps over to Fred, “ We made a promise, but I don’t think that is all that happened. There is more, isn't there Princess?”

Nodding her head, “ I had to stop by the bathroom and was running late for class, and he was waiting for me outside of the bathroom, when he grabbed me and drugged me to a class room that was not being used. He thought that he would force himself on me. I managed to get away from him, but I don’t think this is over with “

Hearing everyone around us letting out a growl, Carolina shaking more than she already was.

“ Can you tell us who this person is?” I asked her.

“ You promise you won't do anything?” she asked

“ We all promised we would not do anything, but we need a name, so we can have people watch over you, when you're not around us.” Kyle tells her.

“ His name is Tyler, but you promised not to do anything, and I will hold you all to that.” she tells us.

“ Princess, we won’t go anywhere near him, but you have to promise that you will always stay around a group of people, and I will talk with my dad about having one of the warrior's sons around you for a while. “

She nods her head and smiles at all of us. Her smile made my heart do things that I never expected it to do. My Princess almost brought me to my knees.

A few days later a group of wolves had a talk with Tyler..he never bothered her again….We all made a promise, none of us went after him..

( End of Flashback)

To this day, her smile brings me to my knees, I would do anything for her, and her going on this mission is not sitting right with me, I feel as if something is wrong.

Shaking my head, as I exit my truck, and going to meet up with my dad, as I get inside of the packhouse doors, my father is standing there waiting for me.

Walking over he pulls me in for a side hug, and pats my shoulder, “ You are ok with Issac saying that Carolina is his mate? “

“ Dad, could it be possible for her to have two mates? “ I asked him as we walked to the conference room.

“ Son, It happens, the moon goddess doesn’t make mistakes, so if you and Issac are her mates, then there has to be a reason. Just remember you are not in this alone, and you both will need to look out for her. Issac and you will need to work out any differences between you, before you both claim Carolina.” he tells me as I nod, letting him know that I completely understand.

Once we are in the conference room, I smell my mate, she looks perfect for me, and I know that this time I can not hide the way I feel. As I went through the motions of the planning and put my input in here and there, but when it was time for her to leave my heart was in my gut.

As I hear Issac saying “ Please keep her safe.” I tell them.

I tell them in the same mind link, “ She is both your Luna’s and Queen, we need her to return to both her mates.”

“ Yes King and Alpha” was their reply.

“ Issac, I don’t know about you, but something feels off with this mission.”

“ Zane you're not alone, my wolf and I don’t think she should be going out on this 7tymission today.”

With that I watch my mate walk out the door, running back into her dad, and gives him a hug and kisses his cheek.

I hear Frank tell her to Be safe!

As she walks completely out of the room and my heart sinks even further into my stomach, “ Moon goddess, if you can hear me right now, please keep her safe.”
