Chapter 8 Mission Part 3

POV: Fred

We are about 40 feet away from the main gate that would put us in the middle of the pack grounds. I noticed that the sounds have completely died off, not even a noise from a small animal.

The eerie feeling that was getting worse, something was off. We should at least hear some kind of noise but complete silence.

“ Lina, I have a very bad feeling about this.”

“ It's too calm. It’s like someone is waiting for us.” She says.

Noticing that my sister is raising her hand to talk, when out of nowhere the gate flies open and shots rang out.

When I saw Beta Shawn grab Kris and throw her back behind him, as I am trying to grab Lina to get her out of the line of fire.

HearIng a scream as I see my sister start to fall. I catch her before she hits the ground, yell back to Beta Shawn “RETREAT!”

Grabbing Lina, and throwing her over my shoulder as another shot is fired and I feel it hitting her thigh, but it did not go through her leg completely.

I have never been so scared as I was at this moment. I needed to step up and lead the rest of our team to safety and worried about Lina. Noticing she is losing a great deal of blood.

Lina needed help, but first we needed to get the bleeding under control before she bleed out. My sister's life was one of my main concerns at this moment, and so was everyone else's safety.

As we were running, I noticed that we were not being followed, it appeared that someone just wanted us to stay out of whatever they were doing.

“ Shawn, we need to slow down, and find a spot where I can reposition Lina. We need to call for help. My comms are still jammed I can’t get anything out’

“ They have jammed the signal. Do you have your cell?” Kris asked

“ Let’s get clear from the current danger then call it in, but they may also be jammed.”

Running for about 5 minutes, I had to lay Lina down, on the ground,” I need to stop the bleeding, before we move, otherwise there is a great chance that she will bleed out.”

I watch as Shawn rips a strip off of his shirt, and kneels down to wrap the strip around the top of her thigh. Watching him work quickly I try to get some kind of signal on my phone.

When we still had no signal, we knew we needed to keep moving. We still were not out of danger yet.

Lina had been in and out of consciousness since the second time she was shot.

Hearing her telling me to keep moving, that we are not safe yet. I look down at her, and her eyes are still closed.

“ Ok, let Shawn and I stop the bleeding first.”

“No, move now, get to the 5 point tunnels then we will address the bleeding.” Lina commanded.

I picked her back up as she let out a painful moan, and ran until we reached the 5 tunnel. I look down at her and notice that she has now passed out, it was either from the pain or the blood loss.

I turned to Shawn and stated “ we need to stop so I can call for help.”

I walked to Beta Shawn and handed Lina to him. “Please keep her safe.”

I noticed that we had stopped some of the bleeding and grabbed my cell phone.

“ Kris, do you have anything on you we can use for her leg? The cloth is helping but we need something more.”

Shawn holds her, as Kris starts taking off her belt and wraps it around Carolina’s thigh a little higher up on her thigh, using it as another tourniquet. I gave the ripped piece of my shirt , so she can tie up her arm, we need to get the bleeding to slow down more.

I take my phone out of my pocket and call my dad's cell phone, we will need to get her help as soon as we are out of the tunnels, and with us running I don’t think it has helped the bleeding any.

POV : Issac’s

We all saw the flash of lights and then the camera’s and coms no longer were working. What in the hell just happened, my thoughts are going a hundred miles a minute.

I look around the room and notice that everyone has the same look on their face, confused and feeling of helplessness.

Then we hear Beta Frank’s phone ringing, we all look at the phone, like it is going to bite someone, but the display shows that it’s Fred. He answered the call and placed it on speakerphone. “ Freddy what the hell is going on? Is everyone ok? Do you need back up? “

“Dad, listen we have a traitor in the pack. Someone let the rouges know that we were coming , and what time we would be here. They knew we would be in the middle of the pack and when, and which way we were coming. They knew we were in the tunnels, they were waiting for us.” Fred says screaming.

Hearing the urgency in his voice and the repetitive speech, I knew this was not going to be good news.

“ Son, are you guys safe? Are you out of danger?” Fred asked

“ Fred, I am sending warriors your way.Can you tell me your location?”

“ Dad, we will be coming through the tunnels to the back of the pack house, we need a doctor as soon as we get there.”Freddy yelled, ignoring the question he just asked. That feeling of not knowing who was hurt and desperation has increased.

“ Who was hurt? Frank yelled into the phone.

When Frank drops to his knees and screams “ My Princess” I walk over and grab the phone from him so I can get a better feel for the situation at hand.

“ Beta Fred, how far out are you? “ I asked him while my wolf was trying to take over.

“ We are about 10 minutes out. May I request that you please take me off speakerphone.” Fred asked, trying to hold back the tears.

I take Frank's phone and place it to my ear. “ ok , Fred, tell me the situation, is it just us? “

“My sister has been shot twice; they appear to be silver bullets.” Fred cries out.

“Fred, I need you to listen, there is another tunnel that runs straight to the pack hospital. You have about 2 minutes before you will see another tunnel. You will need to turn right and take that tunnel.”I tell him as I try to take a calming breath.

“ That will cut your time and put you directly by the pack hospital. Myself, and Zane will meet you there! “

“I will see you in five minutes, just please save my sister!” Fred yells the last part.

With hearing Fred’s fear, my own feelings that went through me as I was watching the video, before it was cut, were too many to name. Once I talked with Fred and heard him say that Carolina was hit, I felt myself and my wolf swelling with regret, and anger.

Maybe I should have made someone else go instead, but I can’t show my emotions. I have to stay strong for her parents and others that love her. I reign my emotions in, and turn to look around, to see the worries, fear, regret and love on so many faces.

I noticed that everyone is waiting for my word on what needs done yet. I mind linked the warriors that are with the other teams to lead a search while one of them escort Carolina’s team back to the pack hospital.

I know that the other Alphas are ready to get into this fight . We all nod to each other, knowing that this ends, it may not be today but it will be soon.

“ Alpha Pete, can I speak to you and your mate out in the hallway?” I see that he nods his head, and asks Dale to sit with Frank, and Katherine. I will return in a few minutes. He says.

Dale nods and places his hand on both Frank and Katherine.

We walked out to the hall, and I told everyone the information that Fred had told me. Pete has tears come down his face, it appears she was like a daughter to him.

“ Zane and myself are heading to the gate by the pack hospital , please have her parents meet us there.”

Zane spoke up, “ Dad, we will handle this, go be with Lina’s parents, and bring them down to the hospital, give us a few extra minutes,with our mate before you get there. Besides, they don’t need to see her in this shape.”

Alpha Pete looks up into Zane’s eyes,” please tell her I am sorry!”

“ Mom , can you make sure that she will have clothes and things that she may need?” “ Then Zane did something I have only seen a few times, he grabs his parents into a hug and whispers in his ear I love you both.”

I watched both of Zane's parents walk back into the office, then we turned on our heels and ran down the steps to the tunnels by the pack hospital..

As we are nearing the tunnels we find out that whoever the traitor is they have been using the tunnels by the hospital, they appeared to be oiled and easy to open, and the path was worn down.

Zeke is jumping around in my head. “Mate is close!” He will not be happy until he knows that our mate is safe in our arms.

As we look around waiting for Fred to exit the tunnels, “please have the doctors and nurses ready, we do not know who else is hurt!” I commanded the warriors.

Zane responded quickly . Yes, they have everything set up and waiting for Carolina and any others wounded.”

I had just finished talking , when the scent of my mate got closer, and I could hear footsteps , I yelled get ready here we go. I see Fred running right at me, with blood all over him, and Zeke yells mate, as those words leave my lips .

I hear the same words coming from Zane. I take her small body from Fred and I feel the sparks all over my body.

I am about ready to run straight to the hospital, when I hear a growl behind me. I look at Zane and say, “ she needs help right now, we can sort this out later. Her life is in our hands until we get her in hospital for medical help. “ This causes Zane to snap back to the situation that we are dealing with.

“ I turned to run to the hospital as fast as I could, with Zane on my heels. I continue to carry my mate to the pack doctor. It appears that the doctors were already waiting at the entrance of the hospital with a bed and nurses.

“ Place her in the bed, and we will take it from here.” Says a she-wolf that appears to be a doctor.

I placed her on the bed , and both Zane and I followed them to the room they were taking her. We walk through the door and go to the side of her bed, when the doctor notices and doesn’t seem pleased. We both just needed to be beside our mate right now.

“ Both of you need to leave, I need room to work! Get out !“ She screamed.

“I am the Alpha King, you can’t talk to me like that! “ I growled back at her.

My growl however, did nothing to the Doctor. She just gave both Zane and I a stern look.

“ We are her mates, We can’t leave, we need to stay!” I say in a stern voice.

“ King and Alpha Zane, you both need to think about how your mate would feel knowing you both have seen her at her weakest point. Please sit outside in the hallway and if we need you someone will get you. I promise she is in good hands.“ The doctor lets us both know while addressing me, in a sweet voice this time.

Nodding in agreement, both Zane and myself turned to our mate. I leaned down and placed a kiss on her forehead, and leaned close to her neck to sniff her scent to help sooth myself, but whispered, “ Princess, I will be right outside. Please come back to us.”

As I stood up, I noticed something wet sliding down my face, and when I realized that I had tears coming down, I realized that I was already in love with my mate.

We both left the room so the doctor could do her work. It made my wolf and myself feel a little better that a female Doctor was working on our mate and not a male. Alpha’s are possessive of their mate.

Waiting is the worse when your scared!
