Not Quite A Mistake

Chapter 7-Javier

I adjusted Lilly in my arms as I walked down the hallway.We have already cleared up the payments and paperwork and Lilly and I were taking our leave.She rested her head on my shoulder and I walked into the elevator,pushing the button to the lobby.

It took a few hours but we were finally able to go home.Those entire hours I felt the urge to see whether or not the woman I had slept with was out of the arms of danger.The feeling became overwhelming and I was relieved that we were leaving.

There was something interesting about her and totally different from others.Her demeanor screamed kindhearted and friendly but then there was that fire and sass behind all that.I shook my head and was about to head out the doors when a nurse came rushing past and nearly knocking me over.

"Candice,Ms.Young has regained consciousness.I need you to get the sonographer," he rushed out to the receptionist.She looked back at him before flipping through a book and pointing at something.I don't know why I was still standing there but something kept me feet rooted to the floor.

"Ah,Georgia Young.She was in for being hit by a car...I don't see why she needs a sonogr-" she looked up at the nurse before picking up telephone which was planted on the counter.

"She had a baby, didn't she?"

The name Georgia rang a bell and felt oddly nostalgic.It was strange since I don't recall meeting such person.Maybe I saw them at an event at a business party or something related to business.

I decided to proceed in walking to the door and pushing it open with one hand,since Lilly was occupying the other.The cold air greeted us and I hurried to get Lilly to the car.She wasn't wearing a coat anymore and could possibly catch a cold.

"F-Father, we're coming back for Ms.Georgia,right?" Immediately after Lilly finished her sentence,everything the nurse and receptionist were talking about came rushing back to me.

"Ah,Georgia Young.She was in for being hit by a car...I don't see why she needs a sonogr-"

Lilly was involved in a car accident,she mentioned a woman named Georgia and the receptionist confirmed that she was hit by a car...and that she had a child.If my assumption was correct then I had to award the woman for saving my child.

"Yes,Lilly.We will come back for Ms.Georgia," I seated her in the backseat of the car and strapped her in.I climbed into the front and started the engine.When I looked back at Lilly she had a timid smile on her face and I smiled a bit.

"Miss Young?" I opened my eyes to see a male doctor infront of me.Confused,I looked to the side and saw white walls and a machine a good distance away from me.I averted my eyes and looked back to the doctor.

"Yes?" I asked and let out a breath as I attempted to sit up straight.The doctor was quick to stop me and I slowly laid back down.

"Miss Young,you are aware that you were in an accident,correct?" I nodded my head and he wrote something on his binder.

"Is the girl alright?" I asked and he nodded.I let out a sigh of relief.

"Do you have any relations to her?" I shook my head and he wrote down something too.

"We have to keep you here for a few days.The injuries you sustained aren't crucial or very serious but we have to run some tests as soon as you are able to move freely," he explained and I nodded and looked down at my blanket covered body.

"How long am I going to have to stay here?" he peered down at me and pushed up his glasses,his greying hair falling to the side.

"For about two weeks,maybe less," he said and turned around to the door.I let out a sigh and looked to the side.

"Oh,and there is a young man in the waiting room who wants to see you," Maybe it was Jared.

"You can send him in doctor.Thank you,"

He nodded and exited.Not even a minute passed before Jared was bursting through the doors.

"Gia!" he whined and plopped down on the chair,his hazel eyes squinted as he peered down on me.

"You're f*****g stupid," I look at him shocked and he gives me with a pointed look.

"You are absolutely and utterly stupid.What were you thinking?!You could have died just because of that brat," he almost screams and I grit my teeth.

"Did you expect me to do nothing?Let a little kid like her die?!She still has her whole life ahead of her," I argue and he groans as he burries his head in the bed.

"I know,I know.I'm sorry for trying to be selfish.It's just if you were to die..."he mumbles and I roll my arms.

"A few cracked ribs and a broken ankle isn't so bad,you know," I laughed lightly.He looked up and took something out of his pocket.

"Since you have such a sweet tooth I will offer you my last chocolate," I grinned and took it gratefully out of his hands.

"Gia,I know you had the girl's best intentions in mind but please, don't put yourself in danger like that again," he ran a hand through his hair and winked at him.

"I make no promises," I showed him a thumbs-up and he groaned.

I spent the rest of the day in the hospital and eventually Jared had to go back to work.Nurses came to check on me and made sure I wouldn't get a concussion.

Before Jared left he,he gave me my clothes and phone.I unlocked my phone and dialed Ferderico's number.

"Georgia?Hello?" he sounded out of breath and I lifted an eyebrow.Okay then.

"Ferderico...hi.Can you open the café tomorrow? I'm in the hospital right now," I explained and I heard rustling on the other side before it stopped.

"Are you okay?Did something happen?" he asked in a hurry.

"I was just in a little accident.There isn't much damage done," he sighed and I smiled a little.Knowing someone is worried about you and genuinely cares about you was the best feeling out there.

"Okay I'm glad,"

"Goodnight then,take good care of the café for me," we bid our goodbyes and I hung up.I was exhausted and I felt my phone slip out of my hand as I fell into a deep,dreamless sleep.
