Chapter 8 Sweet Orange Scent

1097 Words
The room suddenly fell silent. Amelia looked at the cold face of Taran in front of her and realized she was going a little too far. “Well, sorry if it makes you uncomfortable. Since the child is all right, I should go too. " Amelia smiled awkwardly. When she tore off the quilt and was about to get out of bed, a warm grasp came from her arms, pulling her back. "You need to rest." "No. I haven't been home all night. My family should be worried…..Sorry? " While talking, Taran suddenly handed over a mobile phone, and Amelia was slightly stunned. "Call them." "Thank you." Amelia wanted to say something more, but when the words came to her lips, they became a thank you. She took the phone, but didn't recall Emma's number for a long time. "Sorry. I forget the number." Taran was already sitting in a chair by this time. His slender legs were folded together. His arms crossed his chest. He leaned on the back of the seat. His indifferent expression was like a king looking at a servant. This made Amelia feel uncomfortable. "Sir, it's all right. I just had a mild concussion. I can go home and rest." She just wanted to get out of here now. The man in front of her always gave her an invisible pressure. Especially those eyes, they seemed to see her through. "Wait a moment." "I really can't wait any longer. If I don't go home now, my family will be very worried." "Miss Smith, are you sure they are worried about you?" the man interrupted her suddenly. Amelia frowned. Before she could say anything, she heard him continue, "Your friend Emma Anderson asked me to tell you that you don't have to rush home." Woo… That does sound like what Emma would say. "Miss Smith, do you want anything from me?" "What? Eh… wait. Did you investigate me?!" Amelia suddenly realized. Why does this man know my name? And he also found Emma! Taran looked at Amelia indifferently. She looked like a frightened little white bunny. Taran has always been indifferent. He never shows too much of his thought away. But seeing Amelia’s reaction, he became interested in teasing her. He leaned over and whispered: "I will know everything I want to know." The man's warm breath hit her face, making Amelia dizzy for a while. "You are violating my privacy! I can sue you!" "Oh really?" It was like her illusion. She always felt the man’s hormones all over the place. Amelia swallowed. She straightened up, leaning tightly against the pillow. The two leaned very close, face-to-face, nose-to-nose. "Boss, the phone is fixed. Oh...sorry, I went into the wrong room." The door suddenly opened and closed again. It was only a few seconds before and after. Ben came with the phone right when he saw the scene in front of him. He backed out without looking back. I am doomed. I ruined boss’s date. Will he fire me? Whatever, I’d rather leave. This is so awkward. Amelia snapped back and pushed the man away from her. She had never been such a gaffe in five years. No man could arouse her interest. But the man in front of her, made her all dizzy with a look, a sentence. He is too dangerous. She must get out of here quickly! Taran was suddenly pushed away by Amelia. He did not have many expressions on his face. He tidied up his clothes and sat back in the chair. He took out his phone and dialed, "Come in." Then he looked at her. A nice orange scent from Amelia lingered on the tip of his nose. It was this damn smell that made his heart beating so fast. The smell seemed familiar. "Boss." Ben walked in with a deathly expression on his face. Taran sat on the chair like an ice sculpture, and didn't intend to speak. "Miss Smith, this is your phone. Thankfully it's not too damaged. I've got someone to fix it." Amelia took the phone and blinked. She checked her phone. A new call alert. "After saving you, young master told us to find your phone. When we found it, there happened to have a call. Boss took it and said you wouldn’t be going home tonight." Amelia looked at Taran. She thought of her questioning whether he had investigated her just now. Oops, awkward again. It was clear that Emma called and the man answered it. Why did he even pretend he was investigating her anyway? Amelia thought about it for a long time before she finally understood. He did it on purpose! "What do you want?" "What?" "Boss means that since you have saved the young master, what do you want in return? Anything!" Ben explained. "No, it’s okay. You saved my life too. We're cleared." "I don't like to owe people favors." Amelia laughed , "It's really not necessary. I'd probably have lost my life if you hadn’t saved me." "Miss Smith, this kidnap was because of our young master. So if you have any requests, feel free to mention them." Ben hurriedly said. Amelia glanced at Taran, who was still like a statue on the chair, and then at Ben, who was very earnest to talk her out. She thought for a moment, "Anything?" "Yes." Before Ben could speak, Taran had already spoken. "There are two things." Amelia sat up straight, her big eyes shining brightly. "First, I hope you can take good care of Hayden in the future. He was kidn*pped one at such a young age. This has to bring a great psychological impact on the child. Second, I want to go home." Ben had already prepared the check and was going to fill in the numbers. He was shocked and only to draw a line on the check. "Miss Smith, that's all?" "That's it." Amelia nodded. "Hmmm..." "Do as she says." Taran said lightly. Amelia got the promise and was instantly elated. She left the hospital almost as fast as she could. As soon as she left, the atmosphere in the ward changed instantly. "Boss, this is Miss Smith's information. There is no information about her related to this k********g. She should just be accidentally involved in this." Taran looked at the profile in his hand. Amelia on her ID photo was smiling so lovely, with a pair of extraordinarily cute dimple. "Check for more." "Yes." Why would she be the one to get involve? There is not that much of coincedence in this world.
