CHAPTER 31 Something burned on my insides. For all I knew, the hair on my head could’ve been on fire, too. I was hot and sweating. Riding against the wind didn’t douse the heat; the golden rays of sunshine bearing down on me were futile. I rode searching for signs of which way they’d gone. I was not an expert tracker, but neither did I need to be. The Watch wasn’t hiding. If anything, they’d be blatant.
