The Special Ones

Chapter 10

"You can stay here for the night, so you can be with your cousin, Crystal" mom offered crystal to stay for the night since our home has enough of guest rooms for them to stay.

"ah, that would be okay actually I brought some extra clothes of mine."

"You too lance, you can stay here for the night. It is dark and dangerous on the road"

"All right auntie, thanks I’ll just park the car-"

"Wait? Are we gonna have the same room?!"

"Hey, monkey! Don’t be so stagy"

"Stagy what?!"

"Crystal, we have more than two guest rooms here, both of you can pick one so don't worry" I just ignored and I started walking alone

"ah, Amanda. Let me help you get to your room- “

"Don't” I stopped and turned my head a little, enough for them to see my side profile, “I can do it, thank you. Just fix and prepare your room, don’t worry about me, I know the way to my room" I held and felt the pillars beside me and I started walking, touching these pillars on the way to entrance door of our house, my surroundings as a guide because I know some of it, Aldren always told me what our house looks like

I entered our house, I slowly walked into the stairs and some of the maids held my arms to guide me climbing up until second floor, where my room is located. Our house is too big so it is possible for you to get lost sometimes, even my older brother got lost sometimes. We stopped walking, and I can feel one of our housemaids opened my room door for me and helped get inside.

"Ma’am, do you want anything before you sleep?" I sat on my bed and laid down on my sideways, I shook my head as a No answer and sighed deeply.

"You can leave me here now, thank you" before I can hear the door shut, I called her attention again leaving a message for my mom if she met her outside by any chance and she stayed waiting for my message.

"Please tell mom, if you meet her by any chance. Tell her not to get inside, I’m tired and need sleep. " she agreed and it was silent all I heard was the closing of the door, outside the heavy rain started and then I remembered what my mom and brother discussed when I got out from the room, when we were still at the hospital.

“Im going back in the car, I want to rest "

"Ah, I’ll come with you" Crystal held my arm to support me from walking outside the room. we went out and stopped for a moment on the side of the door

"Amanda, what is it?"

"I just want to be alone for a while, I'll just call you " she was silent for a while but thank God she agreed on what I told her.

"Call me okay? I'm going to the comfort room. Do you wanna come with me?" I shook my head and smiled on what she said, I listened for a while and when her footsteps are gone, I began to walk a little backwards to the door. I was about to lean my ear on the door but someone opened and almost hit me.

"Amanda?” I heard a male voice, that seemed to be standing in front of me

"Lance?"

“Why are you here? Aren't you already in the car?"

"Ah, w-well. Crystal is talking to someone, because she needs to be alone, it’s private" I lied at him "Where are you going?"

"Your brother wanted to talk to your mom privately for a while, so I went out first and would have gone outside and eat something, then I saw you here"

"is that so?" something private, huh?

"All right, I won’t keep you long, are you sure you’re okay alone here, or do you want me to escort you to the car and let Crystal follow you after her call?"

“I’m-I’m good, thanks”

“Okay, just stay there don’t go anywhere” and then he left, I felt that there was no one around left. I leaned back my ears slowly and I listen to them, for few minutes I was shocked by my older brother's decision that he wanted to transplant his eye on me. I heard Crystal from afar with the echo of her footsteps and her voice, before she had arrived, I was no longer listen to them.

“Aldren.” tears flowing down into my cheeks, lying on a big bed and a cold room with heavy rain outside, there was a knock on my door and opened it. "Whoever it is, maybe the maid didn’t tell"

"Manda" I heard her open the door bigger "Can we talk? I know you haven't slept yet " said mom

"What?" I spoke "Is it about transplant?" mom was silent for a few minutes and sat beside my bed comforting me on what happened

"How did you know?"

"I'm blind, not deaf. Before I got in the car, I listened to you guys first" I said "If I’m not mistaken, you came here not just to check on me but to also talk about the transplant-"

"Amanda "

"I think you already know my answer about this, right?"

"Your older brother wants to have his eye transplanted into you, maybe you thought I would agree with him?" she said "Aldren is old enough to know what he wants and what he wanted to do, he knows what he’s doing, and I think, it’s time for you to see what we see everyday" I sat on my bed and slowly faced her on the direction where I hear her voice

"What about him?"

“You already know your brother that he wouldn’t do such a thing that would kill him in the end, weren’t you?”

"Amanda" I felt her sit on my side and caress my hair "I know you’re scared, I am too, but I know everything's going to be okay" she kissed my forehead and hugged me tight

"Now, rest okay? You need strength." I nodded on what she says and I can no longer feel mom’s presence in my room.
