The Alien Alpha She-wolf

“Boohoo! Mmmm! Ah!” Audrey kept groaning in pain as the cracking sounds of her bones could be heard as she turned. Camila, who was in the kitchen, ran as fast as her legs could carry her to Audrey's room where the sound was coming from. On reaching the entrance to Audrey's room, her eyes widened in shock as she watched her sister turn into a big, shining black creature with very dense and fluffy winter fur, a short undercoat, and long, coarse guard hairs, Audrey's emerald green eyes were no longer the usual green color, they glowed. The terror Camila was feeling could be seen in her eyes as she stood rooted in the same spot. The wolf looked at Camila, and though Camila could still see her sister through this big black wolf standing right in front of her, she was terrified. She didn't know whether to run for safety, call for help, or just call their parents to report what was happening right before her eyes. Camila tried to figure out her next line of action, but calling their parents was out of it as she had just gotten a message this morning from her Dad, Liam Matthews that they wouldn't be home today as planned because of her Mum's ill health. Their Mum, Zoe Matthews is asthmatic and gets attacks from time to time but this time, according to the message Camila got from her Dad, it was more serious than usual and they were at the hospital and won't be back until a few days at least. Although the wolf didn't look like one that would attack her or hurt her, Camila could not help it as her body shivered in fear. Audrey could hear her sister’s heart pounding. Seeing how terrified Camila was of what she had turned into. She felt her heart break into so many pieces. Before Camila could come to any conclusion on what to do, Audrey in her wolf form swiftly jumped out through the window, bashing through the window glass, and shattering it on the floor. The crackling sounds from the broken glass hitting the floor, jolted Camila who had been rooted in one spot for some minutes back to reality. As soon as Audrey’s black wolf hit the ground on her four legs, she ran away without looking back. Camila couldn't call the police or anyone at all for her sister’s safety, not even Andrew Winston, her sister’s boyfriend, as she was not sure he'd keep his cool if he found out what had just happened. She would not want any harm to come to her sister. Not willing to gamble with her sister's safety, she waited patiently all day, hoping Audrey would return. It was already almost dark and Audrey was still not home. Camila feared that her sister might not come back again or worse still, that something might have happened to her, so she took out her phone to call her Dad as she didn't know what else to do. Just before she dialed the number she heard someone come in through the back door, Camila slowly kept her phone on the couch and went towards the back door to see who it was, she took the rolling pin from the kitchen and held it above her head for protection as she tiptoed to the entrance. Her heart was pounding fast as she peeped ready to swing the rolling pin at whomever it was, when she saw Audrey standing naked, with her hair unkempt, her body shivering from cold and her hands across her chest and looking devastated. Dropping everything Camila hugged her sister and led her upstairs. She led her to the bathroom, and let her take a hot bath. Soon Audrey was out of the shower and dressed up. Camila just waited for her. “I've been worried sick about you all day Audrey, thank God you are alright ‘Stammering’ Y…you t…turned…what happened to you? ” Camila managed to say. Audrey sniffed softly as she sat on her bed beside Camila. “I don't know what happened to me Camie, I was just terrified and scared that that thing I turned into might hurt you, and that was why I left the house like that.” Audrey subbed as Camila tried to comfort her. She suddenly stopped subbing and said sounding energetic; “I have to find out who I am and what is happening to me, I have to get to the root of this Camie”. Audrey sniffed before she got up, put on a pair of pants and shirts, and dashed into their parents’ room, Camila could only follow her to see what she was up to. Camila watched as Audrey searched in a hurry for anything she could find out about herself. As she opened the fourth drawer which was the last one down, she saw an old file, inside the file was a rusty map that led to somewhere that was out of the map. “This has to be it” Audrey blurted “I have to go see what I can find,” she added. “What do you mean you have to go see what you can find? Drey, I'm sure Mum and Dad must have an explanation for all of this. I almost called Dad to let him know everything but I wasn't sure it was the right thing to do since Mum was sick. So please just wait for them to return, according to Dad, they'd be discharged from the hospital in a day or two. ” Camila pleaded with her sister. “Mum is sick?” Audrey asked concerned. “Yes Drey, that's why they couldn't be home for your birthday today as planned. Dad left a message this morning. I was going to tell you about it when you woke up but… ‘Camila paused’ I'm sorry Drey, your 18th birthday didn't go as planned.” Camila responded sounding sad and then paused a little before saying; “It was a wolf Drey” Audrey just looked at her confused at what she said “I mean what you turned into Audrey. When you were talking, you referred to it as the thing. And even though I was terrified at the whole scenario, I knew you were somewhere underneath that wolf and that you wouldn't hurt me. Audrey please tell me all about it, how it felt being a wolf, tell me everything” Camila pleaded with curiosity. Audrey looked like she was thinking of something, she seemed to be doubting everything around her. “What if they knew?” Audrey suddenly asked. “What?” Camila replied confused. “I mean, what if Mum and Dad knew I was going to turn into a wolf on my 18th birthday? What if that's why they didn't come home? What if they had it all planned out? I mean, they have lied to me my whole life. How can I even trust them or anything they say? Fuck! Maybe I was adopted? Mum and Dad and even you Camie have normal eyes but my eyes are emerald green in color. And now I can turn into a wolf. How can anyone explain that?” Audrey kept talking nonstop, Camila just watched her unable to respond. Looking at the map in her hand, Audrey continued; “This has to be it. I have to follow the map to get the answers I sought Camila” “No Audrey, you can't just leave the house following a rusty map, you don't even have a clue where it leads. Audrey, please wait just a day or two for Mum and Dad to return please” Camila pleaded one more time with her sister. “I have to go and see what I can find Camie, it's my only real chance at finding out the truth”. Audrey retorted as she started packing her backpack with a few clothes, some snacks, and water as Camila just watched her helplessly. Seeing that she couldn't stop her sister from leaving, as she was almost packed. “Since your mind seems to be made up about leaving, let me come with you.” “No! No Camie you can't come along because I don't even know where I am going. It's too dangerous. And besides, someone needs to be here when Mum and Dad get back or they'll be worried sick” “You should take this with you then, you might need it.” Camila handed her sister a can of pepper spray. Just then, Audrey hugged her sister and handed her a letter on a piece of paper to give to Andrew Winston. On getting to the door, she turned to look at her sister one last time before she dashed out. It was already dark and Audrey couldn't see again, and wasn't sure she wa s going in the right direction when she stopped to check her bag for her touch and the map. She suddenly heard a scary sound behind her.
