Chapter 02

Audrey could feel the warmth of her pee flowing down her pants as she heard growlings behind her. She couldn't think of turning to check what it was or rather what they were. With her werewolf hearing abilities, she could pick out three different voices. Surprisingly, she could also tell their different scents apart. This was strange to her. she saw a pair of glowing amber-colored eyes just a stone's throw from where she stood looking straight at her. This made her heart pound hard and fast against her chest. It felt as though her heart might jump out any minute. She was in the middle of nowhere. Now she wished she had listened to her sister Camie and had not left home on her own. Her wolf, Samantha, was also terrified since it wasn't just one wolf but three of them. Samantha knew with Audrey's lack of experience and training, they had a very slim chance of winning a fight against three wolves but she thought that they couldn't just stand there and get killed by these wolves. At least they have a small percentage chance of survival fighting. This was also an opportunity for Samantha to bond with Audrey and show her what she was capable of doing. Audrey could hear Samantha, her wolf, growling in her head and pleading to let her take over. Audrey could only give in as that was the only logical thing to do. She is not one to just give up without a fight so she let Samantha take over. Her eyes immediately started to glow, fangs and claws appeared first before fur started to appear on her arms and then her feet, suddenly she felt a heavy weight around her neck which weakened her wolf and made it impossible for her to turn. Feeling very weak, Audrey fell to her knees. She looked down and saw a giant silver round her neck. Unable to move, she wondered if this was the end for her as she couldn't even begin to imagine what these wolves who had caught her in the middle of nowhere would do to her. Tears flowed down her eyes and she just let it flow freely. The two wolves from behind who were already in their human form aggressively took hold of her, each one grabbing her arm as they forcefully pulled her up bringing her back to reality. She saw the one in front of her turn into his human form, even though she couldn't see him clearly through the darkness, she could tell that he was naked as she could see the shape of his well-built arm and thigh muscles and his masculine body. “Who the hell are you and what are you doing in Forest Wood?” The wolf in front of her thundered out with a harsh tone and a hoarse voice. She was shaking now and her heart was beating even faster, her lips moved but no word came out. He was now directly in front of her, she looked up at his face, with the deadly look in his eyes, she just knew that if she didn't start talking immediately, he would kill her without a flinch. “M…my…my name is Audrey” she stammered. “Who cares about your name? What are you doing snooping around in Forest Wood? Who sent you? You must be a rogue who has come to steal right? Damn! You must have some nerves coming here. Today you would experience what rogues like you experience in Forest Pack”. The one in front of her thundered. Audrey looked very confused. “No please I am not a rogue or a thief. I just left home to find out who I am and to get some answers please, I am telling the truth” she managed to explain. “Hahaha” The three men laughed at her. “You do not have a pack or know where you belong and you are not a rogue hun? How funny. Do you even listen to yourself?” one of them said. Another said; “You'll explain better when you get to our Alpha”. Audrey tried to struggle one last time as she couldn't just give up so easily so she thought to put her self-defense classes to practice. She remembered what her father always said, that she had a fighter spirit. And it has always been evident right from her childhood. She kicked the one on her right around his lower leg area with everything she's got left in her, it must have been quite painful and unexpected because he immediately lost his grip on her. “Ahh”. He groaned in pain. She turned and was about to punch the other in his stomach when the one in front of her gave her a sounding slap on the face that threw her straight to the ground. The one on her right whom she had kicked was about to take on her in anger when the one in front who seemed to be the most superior amongst them stopped him. “Leave her be for now, we are trackers and have no right to beat her up before the alpha sees her, he won't be pleased. He has ordered that she should be brought to him. That's what the beta told me when I linked him and that is what we're going to do. When the alpha is done with her, then we'll be able to do with her as we please” Audrey tried to stand up on her feet but she couldn't. The two men by her side once again took hold of her arms and started dragging her violently as they led her down a narrow part of the woods. She couldn't resist anymore, all she could do was comply. She cried silently, tears streaming down her eyes like a tap. Her wolf was too weak to do anything so she just growled in frustration. She wondered where they were taking her and what would be her fate. Then again she remembered what her father used to always tell her whenever she faced bullying in school. He would say; “Don’t ever give up before the fight is over, you are stronger than you think”. These words somehow gave her strength and hope that it wasn't over yet until it was. She was suddenly willing to keep fighting even in a hopeless situation such as this. They walked for a while and she was already getting tired, her throat was dry and patched. She felt like if they didn’t get to where they were headed soon, she might just pass out. They had walked for what seemed like an hour. She had been facing the ground all this while, looking up she noticed they were in a village where there were no longer trees but cabins made of wood. After a little while, they arrived at a very big cabin, anyone could tell that it was the cabin of the most powerful person in the wolves’ village. Someone who seemed to have been waiting on them threw a pair of pants and shirts to each of them which they put on hastily in turns. The cabin was made of bricks. It looked like an ancient castle standing in the middle of nowhere. The moment they stepped in, the smell of freshly cut Apples mixed with the beautiful smell of fresh guarding flowers in the early morning breeze hit Audrey's nose. It made her feel overwhelmed in a way that she had never felt before. The smell was pulling her in a way that was hard to resist. The men who had captured her seemed to be going towards the smell. That pleased her and her wolf so much, that she could feel Samantha jumping i nside her with excitement despite being weak. The smell was getting stronger and stronger when they suddenly stopped.
