Chapter 03

Audrey raised her head, hanging downwards from exhaustion when her eyes met with his, he had the most gorgeous eyes she had ever seen.

His long golden hair was packed in a bunny tail and his clear eyes seemed to be looking straight into her soul. He was too beautiful for a man.

The few seconds that they looked at each other for the first time felt like hours.

“Oh my goddess! It's him! Our fated mate”

Audrey heard Samantha say in excitement.

For a moment she felt like all her pain faded as she just stared at him.

“How could this be?”

She thought.

She couldn't believe the rush of emotions she felt for this total stranger standing right in front of her.

She found it hard to tell if, by any chance, he felt just a tiny bit of what she was feeling at that very moment as his gorgeous face remained stoic and unflinching.

“Alpha Joshua, here's the rogue we found in the woods, she's quite a stubborn one.”

The third werewolf who had always been leading them in front said in a hoarse voice which seemed to have jolted Audrey back to reality.

“Who are you, and what were you doing snooping around my territory?”

Alpha Joshua ordered.

The coldness in his voice made Audrey feel disappointed.

The words that came out of his mouth didn't at all match his looks.

“How could he look this gorgeous and sound like this?” Audrey thought.

“Paah”

One of Alpha Joshua's men landed Audrey a dirty slap. It was the one she had kicked in the woods.

She fell to the ground, groaning in pain.

“Don't keep our alpha waiting, speak rogue!” he shouted at her.

“You seem to be ignorant of where you are rogue, you are standing in front of Alpha Joshua White of Forest pack, the most ruthless alpha in Stone Wood Town so you must speak when asked to.” He continued.

Audrey looked up at Alpha Joshua, finally, words started finding their way out of her mouth as her whole body kept shaking involuntarily and everyone could see how scared she was.

“I…I am Audrey Matthews” she managed to respond.

Alpha Joshua chuckled wickedly.

“She tells me her name,” He said coldly and unmoved.

“Take her to the dungeon!” He ordered with his ever stoic face looking very heartless.

As Alpha Joshua's trackers dragged Audrey to the dungeon, hot tears flowed down her eyes uncontrollably.

At midnight when all the trackers had already headed out to the woods to secure the village as usual, Alpha Joshua was still pacing around his living room, leaving his Luna Aria all alone in bed.

Suddenly he laughed out loud;

“Hahaha!

The mood goddess must hate me so much as to punish me with a common rogue as a fated mate.

I wouldn't have minded taking in my fated mate as a second wife and Aria wouldn't mind either as she knows her place, but she is only a common rogue.

I can't stoop so low.

No, I can't lose an atom of the respect and fame I have built over the years for a rogue”

He chuckled wickedly and continued thinking out loud.

“I won't play into the moon goddess’ trap. I am the ruthless alpha Joshua and there's no way anyone would find out that I am fated to a common rogue.”

Alpha Joshua couldn't sleep so he headed to the dungeon where the trackers had taken Audrey.

Audrey, who was exhausted, was already asleep on the floor when she perceived a familiar pleasant scent, it was so strong that it woke her up.

As soon as her eyes opened, she saw alpha Joshua White standing right in front of her.

Alpha Joshua stared at her quietly for a few seconds, not being able to resist what he was feeling, he bent down, took off the silver around Audrey's neck, and immediately planted a kiss on her lips, at first he kissed her aggressively as though he was taking out his frustration on her.

Gradually the kiss turned tender and filled with so much passion.

Audrey didn't at all try to resist as she felt overpowered by the emotions she was having. She just gave in and kissed him back.

After a while of kissing each other passionately, Alpha Joshua slowly took off his clothes, exposing his perfectly gorgeous body without tearing his gaze off her.

He helped Audrey take off her shirt, and pants, she just gave in without any resistance wanting him as badly as he wanted her.

With all the emotions she was feeling, she didn't care about any other thing right now, she just gave herself to him willingly.

He saw the desire in her eyes which made her even more irresistible to him.

Alpha Joshua White then planted another kiss on her lips, this time more passionately as his tongue went deep into her mouth as if in search of something.

Soon Audrey let her tongue play catch with his. Alpha Joshua let Audrey lay down on the ground as he guided her head with his hand.

One of his hands soon moved to her cleavage and played with her left breast, squeezing it softly as they kissed.

She thought, feeling ashamed of herself for being so cheap.

“Audrey, I can never have anything to do with you, you are just a common rogue.

The moon goddess is mistaken to have made you my fated mate besides I already have a Luna.

So I will have to reject you as my mate Audrey.

I will do you a favor though, I will help you escape safely out of here and make sure my trackers don’t find you so I don't ever have to see you again.”

He said without any emotion and Audrey just stared at him in silence.

He continued; “I, Alpha Joshua White, reject you, Audrey…”

He looked at her for her last name.

“Matthews” she replied quickly in a low tone.

So he continued “I reject you, Audrey Matthews as my mate”.

Although Audrey didn't fully understand what he meant by the Moon goddess making a mistake and her being his fated mate, neither did she completely grasp the idea of him rejecting her, yet

his statement felt like a dagger had pierced through her heart.

“I accept, I accept your rejection” Audrey tearfully blurted out.
