“Where have you been?”
I looked up, not sure who it was that I was expecting to see standing in front of me, but of all the people that crossed my mind, Isabelle definitely hadn’t been one of them. I could barely believe what I was seeing, truth be told. Of all the people who would have noticed that I had gone, she hadn’t been a possibility to me, but as it turns out, I was wrong. Very wrong, by the sounds of it.
Without realising what I was doing until I had already done it, my eyes moved to the clock on the wall, and just as I had suspected, the school must have just come out. It was the only way that she would be here in the middle of the day, in the midst of the peak hour activities that I needed to complete.
