“Who says that I’m planning to leave?”
And just like that, I let out a scoff. I couldn’t believe what was going on, that he actually had the nerve to go ahead and say these things. Did he really think that he was going to be welcome? The entire time? And did he not realise that his wife would get suspicious if he stayed away for too long. Even I had enough common sense to know that it would be a mistake for him to stay here any longer than he already had.
“You’re going to need to leave. You do realise that, don’t you?”
