Now that the confirmation had been made, there was nothing more than silence drifting between the two of us. I was still sitting on the floor and rubbing my hands through Cerberus’ fur, shifting between his three different heads every now and again just in order to keep it fair. I didn’t know what it was going to take for him to leave, but I got the impression that he wasn’t going to leave any time soon. The fact that I had just given him the confirmation that there was a chance for things between the two of us to work, was already all the warning that I needed to know that he was going to stay here for a while. But I didn’t like the silence that was still dancing between us. Hades was just sitting there and staring at me, and I was starting to feel more than simply a sense of discomfort
