Poppi explains the game at the start. “See, it’s a simple guessing game really. Like charades in a way. One person is “it” and the rest of us give that person clues as to what we’re describing. You’re always describing your personal version of whatever the word is: hair, bed, whatever. The secret is to keep the clues in the middle ground—not too easy and not too hard. The fun is in the clever ways things are described.”
It sounds tame when Poppi explains it, but once we get into it, it gets a little crazier. Add the effect of the wine, and it is becoming quite a lively evening.
As the game and the wine drinking progress, everyone seems to relax and get into the spirit of the holiday. Even Janice, after one glass of white wine, starts laughing at some of the responses.
