Chapter 12Eight days was too long to make a besom. The last one he made, the one he had to protect the house, it’d taken three and only a decent amount of concentrated work. But once he’d started on the idea, he revised his estimate of only a couple days. First was the shaft and that wasn’t easy at all to get his hands on. The piece he wanted for it lay deeper in the woods than he’d gone for a good while, years, past the dryad Grove and down in a deep gully where the rains carved a natural pedestal for this particular tree.
