CHAPTER 12
4 weeks later ~
ALINA'S POV
"Alright, alright. I won't underestimate you again." One of the men groaned out on the floor. As i still kept hold of his arm, knowing fully well it only take a simple turn for it to snap.
"Come on now, sister." Ace's voice boomed in the indoor gym. "You're here to train my men, not kill them." He joked, a smile playing on his lips. While the rest of the men in the room bowed their heads a little.
I only scowled, pushing the man's arm away, as I walked towards my water bottle.
"I see you're enjoying yourself, dear sister." He smiled, walking up to me.
"What do you want, Ace?" I glared, knowing he never seeks for me unless he wanted a job to be done. And seeing he interrupted the job he assigned me to, it made question what was going through his mind.
"Dallas falls, 8pm." Was all he said, handing me a paper slip.
It was an invitation. And it was to a business ball.
"Seriously?" I frowned at him, but he only seemed amused.
He turned around, facing the men who were sparing each other.
"I see they've improved." He announced to me. "I'm impressed." He turned back to face me.
"See this as a treat. A reward, really." He smiled, but I only scoffed at him.
"A reward? You know being there is nothing less then work, Ace." I took a swig at my water bottle. Only for Ace to snatch it, taking a sniff of it.
Smirking at me, he mocked. "Vodka? Really, Alina?" I only snatched it back, placing it down near my jacket.
"That's none of your concern." I glared.
"Be ready, we leave tonight." Was all he said before leaving, not giving me any say over the matter.
"Asshole." I mumbled under my breath. Watching as he left the gym, as I walked over to the men I needed to train.
"Woah, someone doesn't look happy." A guy teased.
Without looking, I hit him with a quick jab to the jaw. Sending him to the floor as I continued to walk to the centre mat.
"Anyone else got any comments they'd like to share?" I spoke up, but everyone stayed quiet. Not daring to speak.
"Good, now let's get back to work."
6 HOURS LATER ~
I heard a knock on my door, as I was clicking my necklace on.
I grabbed my coat, going to open the door. Only to find my dear brother dressed in a a dark black suit. When that matched my long silk dress, one that cut near my left thigh to my ankle.
"Shall we?" My brother spoke up with a glint in his eyes, turning to leave as I followed behind.
Something about tonight seemed off, though I didn't question it. Knowing how Ace would react to my questions. Instead I kept silent, but on guard for anything that'll pop up.
The car ride there was quite, though I didn't miss the smile that never left my brothers face.
He was planning something. But the real question, was what?
The car stopped, as the butler standing near the car doors opened ours. Ace got out first, while the butler gave me a hand to get up.
"Welcome to the Dallas Falls, ma'am." The butler greeted, I only nodded my head a little. Walking near my brother as a small group of our men followed behind silently.
As we walked down the extravagant staircase, we came down to see the hall filled with men and women, from the early 20s all the way to 60s. Some came with their wives, others came with arm candies.
My brother turned his neck over his shoulder, looking at me with a smirk. Only for him to raise his eyes, his smirk being replaced with a scowl.
I turned around, following his gaze. Only to see Enzo standing up on the staircase, his hands in his pockets as Dante was fixing his suit jacket.
"Let's go, little sister. We have a few clients meeting us here." But before I turned around, Enzo's eyes met with mine. A confused look covering his expression as his jaw clenched.
I followed my brother, as we went to greet other business families. Trying to ignore the feeling of holes burning in my back from Enzo's stare.
