IRIS'S POV
"I'm so hungry!" Blanche said out loud when she's looking through the menu. Pandora chuckled and showed her what she wanted. "You sure? Just fries?" Pandora nodded. "I had my lunch before."
"Baby... I want this and this and this." My eyes widen. "Honey that's a lot of food. Are you sure?" She nodded and smiled. "But.. the doctors say.. and ..." I didn't get to finish my sentence when she pouts.
Pandora took the menu and covered her face, telling me to handle this alone. I kicked her legs and she jolted up. "Ow.." she breathes out. "Look, honey, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for being a jerk. Let's order them okay.." Blanche smiled and chuckled. She tricked me!
"GET OUT!"
A voice startled everyone in the restaurant and we turned our attention to the commotion. I noticed one of the waiters pushed a man or a woman out of the restaurant with force. Sometimes I wonder if humanity was gone for good in this world.
"Pandora, there's a couple of people outside the restaurant. Bring them in." Pandora nodded and followed her mother's order. Blanche smiled at me. "Even if we killed a person in our line of job, it's not painful to do some good."
My wife said to me. Pandora walked in with 2 grown-ups and a kid. Pandora offered them a sit but they were having second thoughts. "Are you going to embarrassed us?" The woman asked her.
"Heavens no. Sit. Let's have lunch together." Blanche smiled at them. Everyone in the restaurant looked at us. Some disgusted, some whispered to each other and some just got up from their sits and took another table away from us.
I ignored everyone and smiled. "Sit... I'll order us some food." I waved my hand to get the waiters attention. "Yes, Mrs. Vera?" I ordered everything that Blanche pointed before and Pandora's fries.
I ordered some side dish for our new friends and asked the waiter to get us their finest wine. "You can't drink yet," I warned my wife. "But..." she began to say. "No means no." I cut her off. She pouts but I know she's trying to trick me again.
"Excuse me but I heard the waiter said, Vera. Are you..." he didn't finish his questions. "Yes. We're the Vera's. Is there any problem?" I asked him. He shakes his head. The waiter came back and placed a jug of fresh orange juice and a bottle of wine.
"I hope it matches your taste, my lady. A Domaine de la Romanee-Conti." I motioned for him to pour it in a glass. He offered and offered a glass to our new friends. "Bring the food now," I ordered and he walked away.
"Is it really okay for us to be in here? Fill with.." he sighed. "Fill with snobs and power craze human beings? Sir I don't see any rules saying a homeless man can't be in here. So it's fine. Enjoy your day with us." Blanche smiled at them.
"You look familiar." The woman said to Pandora. Pandora smiled. "Maybe we've met before in the home I was volunteering at." The woman smiled at her. "Maybe." She said before the waiter came back with trays of food.
We enjoyed our food and I asked the man where has he and his family sleep all this time. Pandora told us about her friend's parents who opened a home for unfortunate family and suggested that the man and his family go to this home.
Pandora explained that Grace's parents will find a job for him and when he got enough money, they will help him to get to his own feet again. For the first time since we've met, his face lit up. "Why didn't you mention this to me before?" Blanche asked.
"We could donate and help any way we can." My wife added. "Well, I never thought you both will be a charitable type." Blanche places her fork down and turned to Pandora. "As you may know kiddo, we helped your aunt Gemma in her mission to make the world a better place."
I shake my head lightly, listening to these two and reached for my phone. I called Noah and asked him to be here with a car. "Pandora, after this you'll be showing Noah where this home at. Okay?" Pandora nodded and smiled at them.
"We've been talking and we don't even know your name. I'm Blanche. This is Iris, my wife, and Pandora one of my daughters." The man showed us his smiled for the first time.
"I'm Jeffrey and this is my wife Winnie and our daughter, Michelle." Noah walked into the restaurant and walked towards us. He stood behind me and waited for us to be done. "Join us?" Pandora offered. Noah politely declined.
Minutes later, Pandora excuse herself and Noah showed them to the car. We smiled and watched them go. Blanche put her hand on mine and smiled. "We just put a smile on someone face today." She suddenly said.
I lifted her hand and kissed it. "Yes, we did." "It's the opposite of what we did for a living but I feel at ease knowing we shed some light to someone. Let's continued to do this." "Meaning?" I asked her.
"Let's open a home for the unfortunate. Let's donate to underfunded school or churches. Let's help everyone on the streets and bring some joy to the kids and the elderly that was left alone. I want to make some good before I close my eyes forever."
I feel a tugged in my heart. I like what she's planning but she said it as if she's going to leave me. "Why do you say the last part?" I asked her. She smiled. "Baby.. every human being will die sooner or later. It's just a matter of time."
"I can't live without you. Don't leave me.." I said to her. Blanche smiled lovingly. "Baby I'm not going anywhere. I promise.." we enjoyed our moments together before I asked for the check.
I just realized I am not Iris if she's not here by my side.

I was walking down the stairs when the front doorbell rang. Since no one going to open it, I went to the door and the first thing that I noticed was a girl and a boy with a basketball uniform. "Who are you?" I asked rather rudely.
I felt someone smacked the back of my head and pulled me away from the door. "Iris be nice," Blanche said and greeted them with a smile. "Sorry for her rudeness. Come in, come in." Blanche opened the door wide and let the teenagers in.
"Pandora will be down in a minute," Blanche said before going up the stairs again. The teenagers looked around looking nervous about something. I apologized for my rudeness and offered them to sit in the family living room.
"May I offer some drinks? Beer? Liquor? Soda?" I offered. "Soda would be fine. We're underage." The boy said. Good answer. It's nice to know Pandora choose a good friend. I clapped my hands and one of the maids walked out from the other room.
"Get some soda for them and a glass of vodka for me." I turned to the teenagers who looked surprised to see a half naked woman. "That's the maids uniform. They hate the official uniform so I make some alteration."
I explained. I don't even know why I should explain it in the first place. Minutes later a different maid walked in with the drinks. I thanked her and smiled. I heard the front door opened and Blondie and Eliza walked in.
They both smiled at the teenagers and ask them how their days went. They sit beside me and kissed my cheeks as their hello. "Where's Blanche?" I pointed at the stairs. "So Grace.. Where are you going?" Blondie asked.
"Well, we promise to see the new Suicide Squad movie together but before that Caspian need to take a shower." So this is Grace huh. I looked at her from top to bottom. Same as the boy that now I knew his name.
Pandora appeared together with Blanche. "I'm ready." Grace nodded and drank her soda. They excuse themselves and I watched them go. But before they walked out, I called for Pandora.
"Noah will be going with you," I said and they all walked out. Blanche went to sit on my lap and wrapped her arms around my neck. "She's out. Let's meet that bastard." She said and I nodded.
"I can't believe he agreed to meet you here and not at his own pad," Blondie stated. "Well, either way, he's here and let's go." Blanche pout at Eliza. "Carry me.." Eliza sighed and carried Blanche bridal style all the way to the meeting room.
"What an entrance." The familiar voice said as we walked in. "Shut up Leo," I said and sit on the head of the table. "What's with this meeting. If we're in a war, we're in a war. And now you're in my territory. I should just kill you." Leo laughed and raised both hands in surrender.
"Take a chill pill, Iris." He pushed his blonde hair back and sighed. He stood up and fix his black on black suit and tie. For an infamous crime lord, he's the only one with manners. The others, not quite.
"As you all well aware, Iris control most of the underground business in the city. And we agreed, I control most of the ground of the desert. But dear Iris, someone just took over part of my territory and I was thinking it's you."
He turned to me with rage in his eyes. "Why would you even thinking of making this war even worst between us?" He asked with slight anger in his tone. I placed both of my guns on top of the table.
His man was reaching for their guns when Leo stopped them. "You walk in my home, I gave you hospitality and you accuse me of taking over your territory?" I asked him to make sure. He shrugged.
"We knew each other for years. Did I ever step my foot on your territory even once?" I asked him. He didn't respond. Blanche was yawning beside me and I turned to her with my 'What the f**k' face.
"Leo... I promise you we didn't take over your dessert. It must be one of those weaklings." Blanche said and walked towards him. "Come on Leo.. you know as well. We will never betray our agreement." She said as her hands caressed his cheek.
"Flirting won't do anything to me. I'm a loyal husband." Blanche let go and walked back to me. "He's mean!" Blondie chuckled. I shake my head and sighed. "Look Leo. I'm a woman who will not break promises."
He looked at me and walked away. "Alright then. But remember this Iris..." he stopped in front of the door and chuckled. "Everyone around swore to get you off the throne you're currently at. Trust me when I say a lot of people want to see you dead."
Did he just warn me? I think he just did. "Oh, trust me, Leo. I will bathe with their blood soon enough." He tapped his foot and walked out of the meeting room followed by his man. Eliza went to closed the door.
"The big bad Leo just warned us. Does this mean matters is going to get even harder to handle?" Eliza asked. "It seems so." I simply said and stood up. I walked towards a portrait of my father in law and looked at his face.
"We need a plan. They think just because we're female, they can overrule us that easy?!" I turned and face them. "I am the Angel of Death after all. Nothing can bring me down. Safety is my priority and I want double security watching my daughter's."
Nothing and I mean nothing can hurt my family anymore.

"What are you doing?" Blanche asked when she entered the room. I looked up at her from my phone. "Nothing." Looked at me unconvinced. "Where's Blondie and Eliza?" I asked and kept my phone on the bedside table.
"They said they going to give us some space alone." I smiled. "That's good of them." Blanche sat on the bed and lay down next to me. She suddenly flinched while closing her eyes, holding her side.
"What happen?" I jolted up from the bed and looked at her. "Sudden pain. That's all." "Do you need anything?" She shakes her head no. "Did you find the person who shot me?" I nodded. "What did you do to him or her?"
"I shot his head and his accomplice, I haven't set her fate yet." "What do you mean?" "Amanda." Was all I said. Blanche sighed. "Release her." Did I hear her right? "What? Release her? Babe, she, together with that bastard torturing you endlessly."
"It's better to forgive than be forgiven." Was she high?! "But.. what are you talking about?!" Blanche turned to me. "Release her." I was about to argue when she raised both eyebrows. I closed my mouth and decided not to argue anymore.
She will always win. "I'm not supposed to say anything to you but our little girl is not little anymore." What she's saying caught me off guard. "What do you mean?" I asked. "Pandora... She has a crush on someone in school."
"Hmmm. Who's the lucky man?" Blanche chuckled. "You mean who's the lucky girl?" I laughed. "Oh.. she's one of us?" Blanche nodded. "At first she was confused. But I told her to take her time because she has all the time she needs."
Blanche cleared her throat. "But then one day I came to meet her and she said she has a crush. On a girl." I continued to laugh. "Well then, we don't have to worry about the boys she dating." Blanche wiggling her finger.
"Not quite likely." "What do you mean?" I asked. "We don't know who's the girl. We need to investigate." I laughed and patted my wife's head. "Baby it's fine. For someone to make Pandora fall in love was such a task. I bet she's one of a kind. Like you."
I sweet talking her. She looked at me skeptically. "You need something, dear Iris? You never sweet talking me without anything in return." I scooted closer and put my hand on top of her stomach carefully.
"All I need is you to be by my side. That's all I'm asking." I kissed her arm and leaned in to kiss her lips. "I love you, Blanche. And every day my feelings for you never fades. You're the sun that shines my darken days, my purpose to live my daily life and my torch to show me the way."
I lay my head on her chest. "I am lost without you. I am not complete without you. You're my other half." I felt her hand on my head, caressing my hair. "Iris... I love you too. It hurts that you're not beside me. It hurts when I made you sad or worried about me. I'm sorry for being careless."
I shake my head telling her it's alright. "Don't blame yourself. It's not your fault. You're the victim. I promise to take care of everything so that we will live like before with Zeva and Pandora, happily."
Blanche chuckled. "Speaking of Zeva. Let's meet her this weekend. I miss that little girl." I nodded. But then I remember something. "Are you fit for flying?" I looked up at her. "I am fit to do anything. Don't worry about me." I nodded and leaned into kissed her cheek.
Blanche turned to me and rested her head on my shoulder. We stayed like that for a while and talked about everything before we both went to sleep.
Before I close my eyes, I promise myself not to hurt her anymore. Whatever happened after this, I will not show mercy to the people who hurt my family.
That's my promise!
