Xavier
“Mom, Shannon, even you David, how could you behave in such a way? Mom you asked me being her here and yet the whole lunch you and Shannon insulted her. And you David, keep your hands away from my girl.” I say, my voice at the brink of yelling.
“Don’t speak to me in such a way Xavier. I am your mother and you will respect me as such. She is not good enough for you, I know what is best for you. I took the liberty of inviting a suitable companion for you. She comes from a well-off family and she should be arriving shortly.” She advises pride laced in her voice. I push the chair out and place both hands on the table. “Mom, I love her and I would never choose anyone else.”
The displeasure is my words is demonstrated by the angry sigh she lets out. I start to go into the house when I hear my father call out me. Him being a man of few words, the fact that he was injecting himself in the predicament was a monumental occurrence. “Son, I do not usually interfere with your choices but I want to give you a piece of advice. Don’t let that girl go. I watched her throughout the meal and I can tell she loves you just as much as you love her. Don’t let her disappear from your life.” He says, enunciating each word
I wouldn’t have it any other way dad. Thank you for supporting me.” I reply, smiling. He smiles back and pats me on the shoulder. “Your welcome son, and don’t worry about your mother she will come around eventually. It is just hard for her to see you finding a new woman to occupy your time, instead of it being her. But know that she loves you.” He confesses.
I nod my head in understanding, swiftly making my way to the staircase. I climb hoping that she went to my bedroom. I hurriedly open the door but my flower is not inside but someone else. Someone, I wish I never had a deal with ever again. Someone, I wish I had never slept with in the first place.
“Jessica, what are you doing here? How did you even get in here? I ask, my anger at an all-time high. She runs her hand over the bedspread, legs crossed and smiling. I arch my eyebrow, waiting for her to answer the question. She uncrosses her legs and stands up, wrapping her arms around my neck.
I pull her hands away and place them firmly at her side. “I’m going to ask again, what are you doing here Jessica?” I growl out. “Oh, Xavier I’m here because your mother called. Don’t you see that this is fate telling us we should be together? Fate keeps bringing us together, at the restaurant and now here. Your mother likes me and more so my family since, we have something to back us with- a respected name and money. I’ll be good to you, all you have to do is get rid your little bitch.” She answers, smugly.
I push her away from me and sit her down on the bed. “Jessica, we may have slept together on and off. I never had any feelings towards you nor will I have ever had any. I love someone else. Do you understand that?” I say, look directly in her eyes.
“NO!” She yells, pushing me down onto the bed, lowering she presses her lips to mine. I feel nothing but shock at her actions. I steel my lips against hers, I lifted my hands to push her off of me but the sound of a cry halts my movement. At that moment, Jessica chooses to get up from straddling me and look at my flower.
Her face is wet with tears and appears to be shaking. I get up quickly and rush toward her but she pulls back. I begin to explain but am I interrupted by Jessica's false pretense of us getting married. I glare back at her, which makes her smile even more sinister. The lie makes my flower break down even harder. Her breath ragged and eyes become vacant.
I start to explain again but she takes off running leaving me behind with her. I turn around, making quick strides and pulling her hair. “You like it when I’m angry, I’m f*****g livid. I don’t buy that you are here simply because my mother called. So speak! Tell me exactly what your doing here or I’ll rip the hair right from your f*****g scalp.” I growl in her ear, my grip growing tighter with each passing minute.
“I won’t tell you a damn thing Xavier unless you ditch that bitch.” She answers, harshly. I tug even harder and wrap my hand around her neck. I start to squeeze until she tries to pry my hands off her neck. I did not put my hands on women but, on this occasion, the situation was warranted
“I’ll.. talk… just… let me… go.” She rasps. I remove my hand from her throat but keep my hand on her hair intact. “I wanted you all to myself so I dug into her past and found out this couple was looking for her. I contacted them and they said to have some people take well… right about… now.” She confesses.
I keep my hand firmly in her hair and pull her out of the room and down the steps. My anger at new heights. It was taking everything in me not to rip her limb from limb. My family was in the sitting room, pushing her to the ground. I watch as everyone diverted there gaze from the dc and onto me-mainly Jessica on the floor.
“Xavier, what are you doing? Why is she on the ground, help her up?” My mother instructed. I made no move and placed a firm hand on her shoulder. “Tell them what you told me upstairs,” I say, my voice angry and hard.
“I… had the b***h kidnapped, and I would do again in a heartbeat.” She yells, sadistically.
I kneel in front of her and grip her chin, leaning into her ear, “Oh… but you should have thought this out because once I find my flower, I will kill you and it will be painful. However, if you cooperate with the police once they get here, I might let you know to see another day. “
