“Dig out information on Emma Johnson and send it to me as soon as possible," Ryan instructed Sam as they walked out of his father's company and got into the car. The ride was a silent one, and Sam kept stealing glances at Ryan, which he later noticed.
“What is it, Sam?" He asked as it was obvious to him that Sam wanted to say something.
" Sir, I figured you didn't recognize Emma Johnson…”
" I did. She's the lady I… I…"
“Slept with." Sam completed as he noticed how his boss struggled to say those words. He unlocked his phone, moved to his gallery, and gave Ryan his phone.
“You would know her after watching the first video." Ryan immediately played the video and furrowed his brows while he watched the injustice that had happened to Emma.

“I'm going to marry you, Mr. Wright. Who says stuff like that?" Cassy half-yelled and sighed. She was still going off about what Emma had said to Ryan at the lounge, embarrassing both Ryan and herself.
“I must have done something stupid, Cassy,” Emma said to Cassy, and she furrowed her brows at her.
“What is worse than what you did to yourself and Mr. Wright?" She asked calmly, trying to suppress her anger.
“I must have torn a ten-million-dollar cheque that Mr. Wright had offered me.” She said, and Cassy looked at her, unsure if she had heard correctly. She burst out laughing, thinking Emma was joking, but on seeing that there was no hint of a smile on her face, her smile dwindled.
“ I needed to show him I was serious about marrying him.”
" And where has that gotten you?” Cassy yelled, forgetting that Emma was older. She was worried that Emma would find it hard to stay alone without their parents’ support, but she had just thrown away the kind of money that was supposed to change her life. This was driving Cassy crazy. She exhaled as she tried to calm herself.
“I want to marry Mr. Wright,” Emma said calmly.
" You just met him two nights ago. Is marrying him more important than the ten million dollars?” She asked as she started to get curious. Her sister must have had a reason as to why she wanted a man she barely knew and didn't like.
“Only he can help me get my revenge on Dad." She said, and Cassy paused. It all began to make sense to her. Emma's phone rang, interrupting their conversation. She sighed as she picked up the call and placed the phone to her ear almost immediately.
“Hello, who is this?" She asked calmly.
" Am I speaking with Emma Johnson?” The caller asked.
" Yes. This is her.” She answered, already impatient.
" Mr. Wright would like to see you at Lucid Dreams in four hours. Please, don't be late.” The caller said and ended the call. Emma stared at her phone and then at Cassy.
“I think I was just called by Mr. Wright’s assistant.” She said and let out a scream as she jumped like a kid who had gotten what she had wished for.

Emma halted in front of the gate of Lucid Dreams, holding on to her mini handbag as her eyes ran around the open space. Lucid Dreams was a popular place in California that was accessible to everyone, so she wondered why Mr Wright wanted them to meet in such a place. It was a well-decorated open place with a fence around it, and inside, it had a minibar. Her eyes searched for Mr Wright as she stood at the entrance of Lucid Dreams, still wondering why he chose there of all places.
“Miss Emma?" She heard a voice behind her and turned. It was the man who came back to Felix Lounge with Mr Wright. Sam looked at her from head to toe and smiled faintly.
“I'm Sam, Mr. Ryan Wright’s assistant." He introduced himself as he extended a hand to Emma for a handshake.
Emma Johnson. It's a pleasure.” She said and took his hands.
" This way, please.” He said and walked up ahead with Emma behind him as she sighed nervously. She was glad that the meeting with Ryan showed a positive sign that things might work out in her favor, but at the same time, she was nervous because of how she had embarrassed herself the last time they met.
Ryan saw Emma as she walked into Lucid Dreams and couldn't help but notice how she clutched onto her handbag like it was some kind of safety charm in a place filled with people. Emma's eyes were on the ground as they approached Ryan, and it seemed like she was lost in her thoughts.
“Come sit." Ryan's voice startled her. Ryan had gotten lost staring at her at the minibar. There was a bottle of champagne with two glasses at the counter. Ryan had instructed the people at the counter to give him some privacy, and now it was just him and Emma at the bar, with Sam a few meters away from them, looking around like a bodyguard. She cleared her throat as she tried to maintain a confident look while holding onto her handbag. She sat next to Ryan, and her eyes met with the pen and document that lay next to his glass of wine in front of him. Ryan placed his hands on the documents as he wanted to move straight to business. He rubbed his temples and stared at her from head to toe.
‘Dress sense, check. I'd give that to you.’ He thought and then sighed.
“I didn't know what you'd like, so I just ordered a bottle of champagne.” He said, and Emma stared at him and noticed the proud smile on his face.
‘Does he think he's all that?’ she thought, then shook her head.
“Champagne is fine." She said even though it was her least favorite. Ryan smirked and poured some into her glass, after which he passed the document over to her.
“Parties A and B agree to the following conditions.” She read aloud and looked up at Ryan.
" What's this?” She had an idea of what it was as she had heard about it before. But she didn't think Ryan would agree to marry her, even when she was well aware that he knew she had no video of them sleeping together. She cleared her throat, and her eyes moved back to the document. She looked up at Ryan with her brows furrowed as she read the ninth condition.
“Party B has to convince Party A’s father that she's worthy of his son?” She tried to confirm as she stared at him from head to toe. He was handsome and well-built, and she admired his gray eyes, but he still wasn't all that to her. ‘ Why do I need to prove myself worthy?’ But on second thought, she knew she didn't have a choice.
“Why do I need to convince your Dad?" She was curious as to why that was important.
" One, my dad obviously wouldn't like you." He started. He knew the kind of lady his father would want for him, and Emma wasn't that kind.
“ And two, you don't have a choice because you need me to exert a proper revenge on your father.” He said with a smirk, and Emma sighed for the umpteenth time. She didn't find Ryan as her ideal man and wondered what people saw in him to call him ‘Mr. Wright’. To her, he was just some guy who kept painting it to her face that she had nowhere to go, and she was hurt because he was right.
“Why do you think that it's my father I want to take my revenge on?”
" It can't be Marcel West. He isn't worth your time because he didn't respect you enough as his woman. You didn't lose him; he lost a woman who loved him genuinely, which is hard to come by.” He explained, and Emma bowed her head a little and let out a smile so Ryan wouldn't notice it. It was the first time he had said something nice to her. She cleared her throat and faced him.
" What's in it for you?” She was curious to know because no one would help her without wanting something in return.
" To take over my father's company, I have to get married. But I don't believe in marriage, so an eight-month fake marriage is the best decision.” He explained, and Emma wondered why he would want his father's company. From what she had gathered, he had three booming firms that were ranked in the top five biggest firms in the world, with his father's firm hitting number one. Ryan noticed her reaction to his words and sighed.
“He's retiring and he needs me." He added, and she muttered an “Oh".
" Seventy Million dollars?” She whispered in amazement and looked up at Ryan.
“I'm in." She yelled excitedly. The money alone could make her show her father she could do things for herself without his help, and the thought of that made her heart skip several beats. After signing, she let out a smile and stretched out her hand for a handshake. Ryan shook his head and leaned into her.
“We're sealing our deal with a kiss." He said almost in a whisper, and Emma's eyes popped open. Emma looked at his lips and gulped. Ryan had been longing to kiss her again, and he saw the perfect opportunity to.
“It's not like it's our first time." He added and brushed his lips on hers.
‘He’s right. The second time wouldn't hurt.’ She gave a little nod and jammed her lips on his. He parted his lips and took hers in as they began to kiss passionately, not caring that people were around and cameras began clicking.

Marcel’s grip tightened on his phone when he saw the video of Ryan Wright and Emma kissing passionately in an i********: reel.
“Hypocrite. So, that's why you could easily let me go." He muttered angrily.

Mr William Wright was in the dining room having his breakfast before going to the office when his assistant rushed over to the dining room with his phone.
“Sir, you have to see this." He said as he played the video for him to watch. When the video ended, William signaled his personal assistant to take the phone away as he sipped on his cup of coffee. Just then, a call came in, and on seeing the name on his caller ID, he sighed and picked up the call. His face was deadpan.
“Don't worry, Zelda. We both know you're the one my son is getting married to.”
