Muna's Pov "What child, Muna?" I could hear Killian's voice at a distance. This can't be true. Whoever this was, she wasn't Killian's mate. I'm his mate. I'm carrying his unborn child. I felt my wolf pacing and my heart racing as I fought back tears. "Muna, my dear, what child?" Killian's voice pulled me out of my thoughts. His hands were gentle as he rubbed them down my face. Killian, I'm your mate, or not? Please answer me. Is that lady right? "Yes, little girl, I'm right. My name is Nadia, who I would prefer you address as Luna Nadia, the mate, wife, and Luna of the Red Sky Pack." "Shut the f**k up, Nadia! Who even let you in, hmm? Just how did you get past my guards and into my private quarters? "I don't know how many times I have to repeat this, but I will say it again, Nadia. You are not my mate, and you are only my Luna in name only. So stop this show and give respect to my mate, wife, and Luna." I knew it. My Killian would never lie to me. So that means he wants me as his mate and Luna. The goddess was truly too good to me. "Oh, Killian, you seem to have forgotten so quickly what will happen if you even try to leave me. So I will give you a moment with this blind rogue, only for the night, and by tomorrow all will return to its natural habitat." And just like that, all I heard were her retreating steps and the loud bang of the door. Killian, I called out as I tried to reach for him, but he wasn't there. Killian! "I'm here, my dear. I promise I won't leave you ever again, not you or our son." Who is she, Killian? "A leech. A pest that I can't seem to shake off, no matter how hard I try." I could hear the anger in his voice and the increase in his heartbeat. I'm sorry, Killian. "Why are you sorry, my dear? This has nothing to do with you, okay? She... she's just too much." I feel I'm a burden to you. Think about it, Killian. How would people react when they find out that the great Alpha and commander of the Red Sky Territory is mated to a blind wolf? Someone incompetent. How would the pack accept me? How can I be a blind Luna? I can't stand by your side. I would only be a burden to you, a stain on your reputation. I'm sorry I came here. I didn't think this through properly. I just got excited about you and the baby, and here I am, wreaking havoc already in your life. I'm a useless blind wolf. "Hey, listen to me. You are not useless, alright? You are my mate and not a burden to me." Killian held me tight as we held on to each other tighter than ever. But I knew I would bring nothing but shame to him, and he would come to hate me just like everyone else. Days became weeks, and weeks became months. It had been three months since Nadia had tried to have me killed or sent to the dungeon through the council. And now, with Killian away on Alpha business, things were going to get difficult around here for me and my poor child. "Where is your Alpha, my dear, hmm?" I turned at the sudden voice. Killian! Oh, my goddess, you are back. Oh, Killian, you are finally here. I breathed in his scent, trying to calm my restless soul. "How are you and my son?" We are fine, my love, but I think our little pup misses his father's morning kisses. "Did he now?" I could feel his hands rubbing my belly and him leaning down to kiss it. I'm more than happy having my Killian back. Killian and I were wrapped up in each other's embrace. When we heard the first noise coming from outside the quarters. "Alpha! Alpha!" I got up alongside Killian, who immediately had me in a possessive embrace as armed men broke into the room. "Alpha, we are under attack from the North!" Killian held my face gently. "Listen to me, my love. It seems Nadia has made her first move. I need to keep you safe." What... what do you mean? By her first move? "Nadia is from the North. And your arrival has angered her, in extension, her father." What does she want? "Your head."
