Chapter Three.

The next morning I dressed in a simple floral printed skirt, a loose white top, a pair of cream platform heels and a simple grey knitted sweater with the sleeves pulled up. My hair was up in a messy bun and around my wrists I wore bracelets paired with a light touch of lip gloss and eye shadow. I glanced at myself in the mirror then grabbed my bag and made my way downstairs. In the kitchen, I was met with Tristan, Travis and Vicky all gathered around the island. Vicky was munching on an apple while Travis stuffed his face with a granola bar and Tristan sipped water. "Morning. Where's Bridget?" I asked, heading to the fridge to grab myself a bottle of water then snatched an apple from the fruit bowl, taking a bite. "You mean the girl that kept me up all night?" Vicky questioned and not even two seconds later Travis tried to mumble past a mouthful of granola bar. "I didn't get any sleep either with the way they were going at it" I blinked at Travis then at Vicky who only shook her head and smiled down at the marble flooring, I then stiffened. Travis gave me an odd look when I stopped chewing on my apple to swallowed loudly. "Oh my gosh no way, they didn't!" I squealed, jumping up and down in excitement. Every girl had a girly side and at that moment mine was clearly evident. Vicky suppressed a squeal, biting on her lower lip. "They did and it was really loud like really, really loud, I think the whole house heard them" Vicky said, nodding with her arms crossed over her chest. I grinned, beaming with pride as I glanced between the three then giggled excitedly . "Oh gosh, I'm so happy for them, it's about time they got it on" I said with the biggest smile ever plastered across my face. Vicky smirked evilly then jerked her head in Tristan's direction "Now it's only the two of you left to go all the way" Travis chocked on his granola bar while I shot Vicky a glare and Tristan only stared at my disgusted face. Vicky stuck her tongue out at me as an attempt to tease me. "Oh common you know you want to" she said in a sing song voice. I cracked a lop sided smile at her while Tristan patted Travis's back, trying to get him to stop coughing. "Yeah, I guess I do" I mumbled, staring off into space with thoughts of Hayden clouding my head. Tristan froze to look at me while Travis started coughing more violently and Vicky grinned widely. "You're one dirty girl, you know that, thinking about him like he's a piece of cake?" Vicky said, wiggling her eyebrows at me, clearly talking about Hayden now and causing me to roll my eyes while swatting at her. Tristan was still staring at me with a hard gaze. "Honestly I'd like to have him for desert" I played along, licking my lips at the thought of a shirtless Hayden with melted chocolate covering his chest and how I just wanted to lick it off him. Vicky chuckled and just then Bridget came strolling into the kitchen dressed only in an over-sized T-shirt that belonged to Kyle. "You and Kyle done jumping each other's bones yet?" Vicky asked her when she was done yawning and scratched the back of her head. I on the other hand, grabbed her hands and started jumping up and down, squealing like a little girl. "Oh my gosh Bridget, congrats girl!" she didn't jump with me but instead blinked her tired eyes and tried to block out my loud voice. Travis had eventually stopped coughing to watch us. "So how was it?" I asked out of the blue. Bridget gave me a look with tired eyes that had dark bags under them then scrunched up her nose and sighed contently. "Amazing" with that she snatched my apple out of my hand and started munching on it as she made her way back upstairs. I gaped after her while Vicky only breathed a laugh, shaking her head. Unlike Bridget, Vicky had already lost her virginity a year or so ago but she also didn't have a mate like our overly girly best friend did. "Someone's in a nasty mood today but who could blame her? The girl just had her V card taken by storm last night" Vicky muttered, cracking a smile as she reached for her bag by the kitchen table and slung it over her shoulder. She was wearing a pair of skinny jeans and a ruffled top with heels. "Well there's no way she's going anywhere today so we better get going if we don't want to be late" I nodded, trailing after her out the front door and down the drive to Tristan's white Land Rover, parked beside Kyle's silver Porsche. Tristan and Travis were right behind us, talking about the game on Thursday. It was supposed to be a simple football game between two groups of guys from the pack. "You know now that Bridget's out for the count you'll be on your own tonight, right?" I froze, my face going blank with the realization that it was Tuesday and that I had a double date with Stacy. Vicky stopped by the back doors to the Land Rover and glanced back towards me. "Oh no, the date, I completely forgot about the date!" I exclaimed, practically face palming myself when I thought of spending the entire night pretending to be Tristan's girlfriend. I groaned. "What do I do? Bridget was supposed to be my back up but now that she's-." I was cut off by the boys coming up behind us, laughing at something Travis had said while Tristan unlocked his car and then the most brilliant idea ever came to mind. "Travis, I need you to do me a huge favor" he gave me an odd look while Vicky smirked at how he looked so much like a dear caught in the headlights of an oncoming car. "Um okay, what do you need?" Travis asked carefully as if to test the waters. Tristan had stopped halfway into the driver's seat of his car to take in the scene and Vicky was grinning like a fool "I need you to go on a date with Vicky tonight" and the grin was slapped right off her face. Vicky looked at me with horror filled eyes and her jaw dropped in disbelief but I wasn't focused on that, instead I was trying everything in my power not to be alone with Stacy and her cocky boyfriend. "What?" Vicky erupted, her hands clenching at her sides and her teeth grinding together. I could've sworn she was about to eat my soul with the way she was glaring at me. Travis blinked, glancing from me to Vicky then back to me. "Go on a date...with her?" Travis asked, luckily getting Vicky's attention off me and onto him with fire in her eyes. She looked ready to punch something. "Yes HER? What, is there something wrong with HER?" she snapped, stalking closer to Travis who shrunk back in fear. Travis had learned a long time ago not to mess with Vicky and sure enough to this day it still haunted him. "No, yes I mean no, no-yes!" Tristan chuckled at his friend's confusion while Vicky looked like a predator on the hunt for her next kill. "So I'm not pretty enough, is that it?" Vicky asked, folding her arms across her chest as she stuck her nose up in the air, looking at anything but at Travis, most likely trying to refrain from choking him. "No, you're gorgeous, it's just that I don't do well with group dates" Vicky froze and I grinned with satisfaction while Travis clamped a hand over his mouth and Tristan smirked. "Nice going there, Romeo" Tristan complimented over the hood of his car while Travis mumbled a "I'm sorry" past his hand, causing it to come out muffled. I knew Travis had Vicky reeled in when he said that since she turned to the back door of Tristan's car and flung it open but paused to say. "Whatever, just pick me up at eight" then she got in, allowing Travis to breathe a sigh of relief with his shoulders slumped. I giggled and gave him a pat on the back then got into the passenger seat with a wicked little grin crawling its way onto my lips. ------------------------------ The school day went by as usual and by the end of it I just wanted to head home. Tristan drove me, Vicky and Travis back to the pack house then took off for Beta training with his father. Travis and I hurried to get changed then headed for the clearing while Vicky stayed behind to wake up the beast, also known as Bridget. "So, a date with Vicky, huh?" Travis asked out of the blue while we were making our way to the training field. I picked at the hem of my tank top and grinned. "What? You two make a really cute couple" I muttered, seeing Travis tense beside me, shooting side glances my way "Really?" I rolled my eyes at his stupid question then nodded, bumping shoulders with him as we entered the clearing "Yes, really and I know you have a thing for her" He blushed, looking anywhere but at me while we approached my brother and Clayton who stood waiting at the edge of the tree line with a seven year old Aiden. Today was speed training but not just any speed, we were training the speed of our inner wolves and it was Dalton's turn to babysit. I loved shifting but over the years there had been too many sightings of large wolves in the area and so shifting was kept to a minimal to hide our existence more efficiently. "No I don't!" Travis called, hurrying to catch up with me a few feet ahead. I whirled round with my arms crossed over my chest to shoot him a pointed look. "Please, I have eyes" Clayton stepped forwards, glancing between me and Travis with furrowed brows. Dalton just looked irritated at the fact that we weren't training yet and maybe because Aiden was just itching for trouble but leave it to my brother to care more about training than breathing. "You two mind cluing me in?" Clayton asked, clearly curious to what we were getting at. I smirked, jabbing my thumb in Travis's direction "Lover boy over there has a date with Vicky coming up" Travis looked ready to object but he really didn't know what to say so he settled for rubbing at the back of his neck, nervously. "Vicky? As in the Vicky that attacked him on Valentine's Day in third grade for pulling her hair? That Vicky?" Clayton asked with a raised brow while Travis cringed at the memory. I could still remember him curled up in a ball, crying and rocking from side to side. "Yes, that Vicky" I said, giving a swift nod of my head. Clayton went blank, looking at Travis then at me then to Dalton and back to me, bursting out in hysterics. Travis glared at him until he managed to stop laughing enough to catch his breath "Oh that's priceless! Vicky and him on a date? Yeah right like that's ever going to happen" I rolled my eyes and shoved Clayton's shoulder roughly, causing him to stumble back a few steps while whipping away some imaginary tears "It is going to happen, tonight actually" That got Clayton to freeze, his eyes wide and jaw dropped to the floor. Travis grumbled to himself and stalked past, bumping shoulders with Clayton on his way. I giggled patting Colton's gaping jaw as I followed behind . "You're going to catch flies" Colton shut his mouth but his eyes were still wide as he stared after us on our way to my annoyed and impatient brother and my sweet and innocent little nephew. "Auntie Rachel!" Aiden exclaimed rushing over to wrap his arms around my neck as I bent down to scoop him up into an embrace. He gave the best hugs. "You two get your sorry asses behind those trees and shift before I decide to rain Hell down on you!" Dalton snapped pointing towards the tree line ahead of us. He looked pissed beyond belief and I knew that both Travis and I would be feeling it in training for being late. I sighed and sat Aiden back down ruffling his hair chocolate brown hair as I did. "Sorry kiddo but daddy's mean" he laughed wrapping his arms around my legs when I stood up then went over to play by the tree line. "Yes Alpha" Travis mumbled scurrying off behind a tree to strip with his tail between his legs. I scoffed making my way to a separate tree muttering "d**k" Dalton growled his head whipping towards me. "I heard that!" I giggled disappearing behind the tree and started taking off my clothes "That was the idea!" I called back stepping out of my shorts and pulling my tank top over my head. The clothing dropped to the floor and was followed by the sound of cracking bones and pain filled groans. My body began to shift teeth grinding together as my canines extended, claws digging into the tree bark and dirt and my spine elongating to form a tail. My skin felt as though it was being torn apart and my body ached with pain. Once done I was breathing hard with my body slumped forward into the forest floor. "Move it Rachel!" Dalton snarled from the other side of the tree and with a silent curse I forced myself onto all fours and stumbled out into the clearing with a dull pain in my legs. 'Jeez what crawled up his ass and died?' Travis asked me already waiting by my brother in his wolf form. His wolf was bigger than mine and towered over me with a rust grey coloured pelt and his light hazel eyes. 'I can still hear you runt!' Dalton barked through the mind link causing Travis to shrink back in fear since he forgot to close the link between us. I chuckled padding over to where the boys stood waiting. 'Next time don't forget to close the mind link' I warned Travis while brushing my shoulder up against his which was hard since I was so small and had to push myself forward on my hind legs just to reach. 'Gee thanks for the heads up' Travis muttered sarcastically and if he was in human form he would've rolled his eyes but instead opted for shaking his large head. 'No problem' I piped trying to annoy him with my happy go lucky tone. Colton chuckled while Travis grumbled under his breath. 'Alright that's enough you two we better get started before Mr Alpha over here blows a gasket' Colton teased earning himself a glare from Dalton and a snort from Travis. Dalton turned his gaze to the Warrior in training and Travis instantly shrunk back in fear even though he stood at Dalton's human height in his wolf form. 'We're still waiting for that reckless brother of yours' Dalton informed shooting another heated glance in Travis's direction. Travis groaned at the mention of his older brother, Troy, who was Colton's right flank. "You know he's got a thing for being fashionably late" Colton said smirking at Dalton who looked ready to rip someone's throat out "He's probably off with that minor Omega again" I froze at my brothers words, whipping my head round to look at him but he was staring at the tree line across from us on the other side of the clearing. "Ah common chief you know their just goofing around, not like their mates or anything" but they could be. I thought as I glanced back towards the tree line. A second in command Enforcer could be mated to an Omega since their lower in rank but an Alpha couldn't. I mopped. "That she-wolf will be the death of him" Dalton declared crossing his arms over his chest while Colton laced his fingers behind his head. "Valery's just a little clingy, is all" Colton tried to defend but Travis cut in shooting a look in the Lead Enforcer's direction that said he didn't agree one bit 'If by 'clingy' you mean jumping his bones twenty four seven then shore let's put it at that' Colton grinned widely most likely thinking about Addison then jabbed his elbow into my brother's side. "Now what wolf wouldn't want a she-wolf like that?" he asked and I rolled my eyes getting up off the ground and started towards the shade under a large oak tree. Colton chuckled as he watched me leave . "Be good to Tristan, Rachel be good to Tristan!" Colton called after me and I stopped to glance back at him. I shook my head from side to side while Dalton growled in disapproval, he honestly didn't like having a mate chosen for me. 'Oh I will' I sent through the mind link but it wasn't Tristan I was thinking about, it was Hayden. I sat in silence with my eyes closed as I thought through my plan for the night of the party. My mind was sealed off from everyone else and I locked myself in a deep trance. Hayden and I wouldn't survive a night alone in the woods without a pack. "Rachel!" my eyes snapped open at the sound of my brother's enraged voice and was met with the sight of a reddish rust and brown coloured wolf charging towards me, Troy.  'Today we test your speed, Troy will make shore of that being the fastest Warrior we have' my brother informed me and with the speed of an Alpha I took off into the forest. My legs felt weak from the shift but I tried to ignore it, pushing myself to go faster than the much larger wolf barrelling after me. 'If he catches you the punishment will be dyer' then the link closed with a sickening feeling bubbling up from my core. I knew my brother meant what he said from experience and brought myself to focus on doing whatever it took not to get caught in the wolf's jaws. I swerved in between trees and ducked under fallen logs with the heavy beating of Troy's feet thundering behind me. A bolder came into view and I instantly leapt up onto it propelling myself into the air with the use of my hind legs. I flew overhead a frantic Travis and landed a few feet in front of him. My legs kept pumping not slowing down for a moments waste even when I heard a yelp coming from behind me and knew Travis was being dragged back in the direction of the clearing. In a split second I changed rout heading towards a nearby trail to my right and followed it until I had to cut through the brush back to the clearing. I broke through the tree line just in time to see Troy drag Travis into the clearing by the scruff of his neck then tossed him towards my brother's feet. Lunging forward I took a defensive stand in front of Travis growling in warning at Troy with my canines bared. He froze when my brother came up beside me. "First rule of being an Alpha, never leave a pack member behind, well done brat" a low growl rumbled up from my chest at him calling me a 'brat' but I kept myself alert in case Troy decided to attack. Only when Dalton raised his hand for Troy to stand down did I ease a little yet stayed put. "Rachel you're free to go and as for you, pup let's teach you how to run" the fire in my brother's eyes blazed bright with dominance as he looked at Travis and I knew not to stand in his way so with slight hesitation I nodded my head shooting one last glance to Travis then took off towards the tree line, towards my clothes. ------------------------------ I was doing my hair when Travis came stumbling up the stairs of the pack house and stopped in my bedroom doorway. He was covered in sweat and dirt and was breathing hard from all the running. I knew what my brother did to him, the same he did to me when I wasn't fast enough. He dragged us deep into the woods, gave us a five minute head start then he'd hunt us down himself until we were fast enough for his liking or dying from his attacks. "I take it he took pity on you?" I asked fixing my hair then took the hoop earing's and put them on one at a time. Travis's right eye twitched while his bloody and bruised hand supported his weight on the doorframe. "Are you kidding me? That guy doesn't have pity for the blind! I had to bribe my way out if I wanted to be on time for this date" I shot him a raised eyebrow as I slipped on the rest of my jewellery. Travis sighed looking from side to side as if to make shore no one heard "I have to make shore that you and Tristan stay separated or else he's going to kill me" I grinned at the thought of my protective older brother for once actually acting like a brother to me and not a trainer. I laughed snatching my lips gloss to coat my lips before I said "I'll make it easy for you then" I winked and Travis rolled his eyes scoffing in disbelief. "Yeah right like I'm going to believe that" he knew us girls all too well but he didn't know about Hayden. I'd take my brother's threat towards Travis to my advantage and stay as far away from Tristan as humanly possible without alerting anyone especially Stacy. "Whatever just get ready before Vicky goes all she-wolf from Hell on your ass" Travis cringed then was already down the hall with a limp in his step when I turned back to the door. I finished getting ready and glanced myself over in my full length mirror. I was dressed in a navy blue cocktail dress with a low cut V neck and went down to below my rear. A pair of black platform heels clad my feet and a black leather jacket dangled from my arm. My hair was in a half up, half down hair do and my makeup was mysterious . "Perfect" I breathed giving a small smile at my own reflection. I heard a groan then saw Bridget stalking past with her hair in knots and still only dressed in Kyle's shirt. She looked like the dead as she stopped to look at me through bloodshot eyes. "Hormones is a b***h" with that said she took off down the hall most likely heading towards the kitchen. It was the only time she ever came out of her and Kyle's shared room, for food. I chuckled shaking my head from side to side as I heard the shower from down the hall being turned on. "This is so stupid! Ugh I can't even get my hair into a bun" Vicky complained waltzing into my room dressed in a black mini skirt and a flattering green sequin top with a brush stuck in her hair. She wore black knee length high heeled boots and looked about ready to burst. "Stop complaining and let me help you" I said going over to tug the comb out of her hair with effort then I forced her down into my vanity seat and started trying to tame her strawberry blonde mane. "I had the perfect agenda all planned out for tonight but now I'm stuck on a group date with a complete moron" Vicky was ranting as she glared at her own reflection as if she was imagining Travis face being the one looking back at her instead. I breathed a laugh, I knew what she had planned; it was just like her to sit up all night eating tubs of chocolate ice cream and cookie dough while watching some sappy romantic film in her pyjamas. "Prefect agenda? Yeah right we both know you should cut down on the ice cream, it's starting to show" I teased poking her side earning myself a narrow eyed glare as I pulled her hair up into a messy bun making shore that strands fell loose to frame her face perfectly . "Don't mess with the ice cream, never mess with the ice cream" she warned her eyes taking on a dangerous gleam. When it came to ice cream Vicky was as girly as they come even though she almost never showed that side of her to anyone. "Seriously that s**t's like-." I cut her off by tugging on her hair and clipping it together with a few clips I had scattered across my vanity "Like Heaven in a tub, I know you've told me that like a thousand times already" Vicky scowled as a groan came from the hall and Bridget appeared with a tub of her favourite vanilla ice cream in hand. She pulled the spoon from her mouth. "So good" she groaned then stalked off back towards Kyle's room. When I looked back into the mirror Vicky was smirking triumphantly at me. "Told you" she said then stood up when I'd finished with her hair while I rolled my eyes at her smug tone. She inspected herself in the mirror then nodded approvingly. "Thanks I would've been tearing my hair out by now if it wasn't for you" I grinned and accepted the hug she offered me. "No problem it's the least I could do after dragging you into this mess" I assured her pulling away to look at the expression plastered across her face. She looked like she was thinking hard about something then pouted. "My ice cream" I giggled swatting at her but she kept pouting in mourning of her beloved ice cream. "And sorry for ruining your plans too" I apologized giving the strawberry blonde haired girl a sincere look. She sighed in defeat slumping her shoulders for a moment then stood up tall. "It's fine there's always afterwards, that's if Bridget doesn't eat the entire kitchen first I swear either that girl's got some serious PMS or she's pregnant" I laughed at that just thinking about Bridget as a mother was something I couldn't see but then the thought of her with a cute little baby girl that she'd dress up day in and day out made me smile. "Who knows? They did mate" Vicky shot me a look that said 'you don't actually believe that do you?' then pressed the back of her hand to my forehead. "What are you mad? Bridget can't be a mom, she just isn't teen mom material besides the kid would probably end up being her purse pooch" an image of rich woman walking down the street with a handbag hanging from their shoulder and a little dog sticking out from it dressed in a miniture tux flashed through my mind. "Yeah you're probably right" Vicky nodded and with that started to make her way towards my bedroom door. "As always, we better finish up before the boys start worrying" she called back over her shoulder and I chuckled as I watched her leave. Travis came stumbling by pulling on his shoes and fixing his loose black tie pared with a grey button up top and dark wash jeans. A smile made its way onto my face but then slipped away as I realised something. I'd have to leave all of them behind eventually. ------------------------------ It was just me, Vicky, Stacy and our dates along with a few other people that decided to go clubbing. Once we reached the crowded building I heard the loud beat coming from the inside where shouts and cheers could be heard. "I don't like this" I muttered to Tristan once he parked his car near the entrance. He turned to me in the passenger seat and took my hand in his giving it a reassuring squeeze. "We'll do fine, it's just one night, nothing major" I shot him a look then got out of the car slamming the door behind me as I stalked towards the club. Vicky was standing beside Travis waiting to get inside while he tried to make light conversation. She gave him an annoyed glance while Stacy clung to her boyfriend's arm. "Rachel, wait up!" Tristan called willing me to stop and look back at him jogging towards me. He sighed and ran a hand through his blonde hair when I gave him a 'I'm waiting' look with my arms crossed over my chest. "Look I know I'm not the guy you'd want to be with right now but at least I'm not a stranger" he had a point, he wasn't a stranger I'd known him since we were little kids. He was my very first best friend being the son of my father's Beta, we grew up together and always looked out for one another. "You're right you're not Hayden but you're still my best friend" I said glancing from him to the tar of the parking lot floor. Tristan seemed to stiffen at Hayden's name then awkwardly cleared his throat. "Yeah...best friend so why don't we just go and have some fun tonight? It's the last week of school, am I right?" I tried my best to think of an excuse but who wouldn't want to go clubbing? Even though Hayden was all I could think about I nodded and grabbed onto Tristan's hand dragging him towards the line outside the club. "You uh look really um pretty tonight" Travis was saying to Vicky while nervously scratching at the back of his neck with a light brush painted across his cheeks. "Yeah whatever" Vicky said glancing over the crowd at the door where the bouncer stood letting people in. Travis's shoulders sagged and Tristan chuckled clasping his shoulder. "Don't worry man she'll come around eventually" Travis shot him a glare than rolled his eyes shaking his head from side to side as he muttered lowly "Yeah thanks for that" I could hear the sarcasm in his voice, he most likely didn't think that Vicky would ever give him a second glance let alone be interested in him. "Don't mind her she's just zoned out, watch" I assured him turning to Vicky who was still trying to see over the crowd. We were nearly at the door by then and her being a party animal at heart she clearly couldn't wait to get inside. "Hay Vicky, Travis has this huge crush on you and he thinks you're really hot-." Travis's hand came down across my mouth making my words sound muffled but almost everyone heard what I said loud and clear including Vicky who just nodded her head while muttering an "Ah huh" I shoved Travis off me and motioned towards Vicky while shooting a glare at him. "See she's like a hundred miles away right now" as soon as I said that Vicky sunk back down from her tip toes and turned to me with a raised eyebrow. "I'm sorry what did you just say?" she asked seeming confused. Travis looked like he was about to faint if I repeated myself to Vicky but instead. "Nothing just that I can't wait to get inside, you know how much I like me some Tequila" Vicky grinned widely at me then hooked her arm through mine while jabbing her thumb towards the door where Stacy was stood openly flirting with the bouncer. "Tell me about it that Vodka's calling my name" I smiled then shot a look in Travis's direction to find him gapping at me like a fish out of water. Tristan chuckled and shook his head mumbling something about being whipped. Stacy got in and motioned for us to follow. "Finally! Let's hit the bar!" Vicky hollered practically dragging me into the black light, bodies grinding room filled with hot, sticky sweat and the beat of the music. "Shot of Vodka!" Vicky called over the loud beat when the bar tender asked her what she'd have. The guy, probably a few years older than me, turned to give me a flirty grin waiting for my reply. "Tequila" he nodded winking at me as he turned to get our drinks "Coming right up sweetheart" I took a seat on one of the bar stools next to the one Vicky was sitting at and glanced towards the crowd where Stacy was already grinding up against Ryan then spotted Tristan and Travis at one of the club tables chatting over a cold beer. "You know he likes you, right?" I asked looking back at Vicky who had her head propped up onto her palm of her hand. She turned to me with a raised brow. "Who?" she questioned not shore who I was talking about so I just rolled my eyes and leaned in closer to say "Travis, he likes you" Vicky blinked when I leaned back in my seat then shot a look in Travis's direction only to see him staring at a waiter's ass. "No, he doesn't" I scoffed at her protest glancing back towards Tristan's table and said "Look again" Vicky turned and noticed Travis staring at her in what seemed like awe but as soon as it was there it was gone with him quickly looking away. "He-He's not my type" she brushed it off with a shrug and a smug look that said she was too important for him but I could see past her façade even though she would never admit it to herself, she liked him too. "Here you are ladies" the bar tender said bringing our orders and setting the shooter glasses down for us to take. Both Vicky and I took them then slammed them back down on the counter. "Is there anything else I can get you? Another round or something?" he looked at me when the word 'something' rolled off his tongue. I could feel him eyeing me but ignored it, pretending like I didn't notice. "Another round would be fine" he nodded taking the glasses then disappeared to a drunken guy sitting at the far end of the bar. I was staring down at my hands on the counter when Vicky nudged me. "Hay you see that?" she asked jerking her head towards the girl's restroom. I turned and just outside the door there was a figure leaning against the wall with his hands stuffed into the pockets of his jeans. "Hayden" I found myself breathing as I glanced him over. He was dressed in dark jeans, a pair of warn all stars and a white shirt with a jacket rolled up at the sleeves. "Looks like someone couldn't wait to see you" Vicky teased, I could practically hear the smirk in her voice as I stared at Hayden with his brown hair tousled and messy and his green eyes boring into me so intensely. "Hay um I'll be right back" the words lift my lips before I even knew what I was doing and I could hear Vicky chuckling as I walked off. My eyes found Tristan as I moved through the crowd and he was staring at Hayden for a moment then he found me. When I reached Hayden I grabbed his hand and pulled him into the girl's room heading to one of the empty stalls. I locked it behind us but when I turned to speak I was cut off by Hayden pinning me up against the door and crashing his lips down onto mine. The kiss was like Heaven, his hands roamed my sides and moved down to my hips and thighs while I busied mine in his hair. Fire erupted around us and in that moment I didn't care about anything, just him, just me, just us. When we broke apart to catch our breath he didn't stop, he trailed kisses down the length of my neck pressing his body into mine and leaving no room between us at all. I gasped staring up at the ceiling when I felt his canines scrapping across my skin. "I want to mark you" he breathed sending shivers down my spine at the feel of his warm breath skimping over my bare skin. "I want to make you mine" for a moment I was lost, I wanted him to claim me as his but then I realised what the consequences would be and pushed him back with my hands on his chest. "You can't" I said still out of breath from our kiss. He growled lowly but it wasn't threatening since he was only an Omega. He was strong but not as strong as most wolves, he was well-built but Tristan had a six pack over him, he was good looking and cute not the hot and popular type. "If you claim me then they'd know, they'd smell you on me like they would when I walk out of here" Hayden pulled back putting some distance between us as he ran a shaky hand through his mess of chocolate brown hair and sighed. "I just...knowing that you're with him, knowing that he can touch you and kiss you and-it's killing me" I knew he was talking about Tristan and stepped forward to wrap my arms around him. The look in his eyes when he talked about me being with someone else was enough to break me. "He won't touch me, I won't let him, you're my mate Hayden I don't want anyone else, I only want you" his arms wrapped around me instantly pulling me close as he buried his face into my hair and breathed in deeply. I felt him start to relax and closed my eyes against his chest. "You should probably get back out there before they start to wonder where you're at" he said letting me go so that I could take a step back and look at him. He's everything I wanted, everything I needed and I loved him more than anything in the world. "Yeah" I replied with a nod about to turn and open the stall door when his hand reached out and grabbed hold of my wrist "Drink, drink a lot it'll mask my scent" this time I could hear the pain in his voice. The thought of not having his scent on me was driving his wolf mad because I was hiding the fact that I was his mate by trying to hide his scent but I had to do it. "Damp earth and tree bark" I muttered without even realising it. Hayden glanced at me meeting my gaze as he raised an eyebrow "What?" I smiled a sad smile leaning up just enough to reach his ear then whispered "You smell like the forest after a rain shower mixed with tree bark and musk" He flashed a breath-taking smile down at me before leaning in and whispering to me with a voice so deep and gentle that it made me shiver as his breath struck my flesh "And you smell like wild flowers and sunlight" I hid my face in his neck laughing lightly then pulled back to look at him. He was still smiling when he leaned in to brush our lips together in a sweet, slow kiss. When we pulled away he let go of my wrist. "You better go" he clearly didn't want me to but I knew I had to and with a quick peck on the lips I opened the stall door and strode out pausing by the bathroom door to glance back at him. "I only want you" I said then with that I was gone back into the crowd of grinding bodies and eventually found myself back at the bar downing as many Tequila shots as I could. Vicky was dancing with Travis both were drunk and just fooling around while Stacy straddled her boyfriend, Ryan, beside me at the bar practically shoving her tongue down his throat. Everyone was wasted including me but it took more for higher ranking werewolves to get drunk. I was only starting to feel a bit of a buzz when Tristan came up to me. "You maybe want to dance?" he asked taking the seat opposite Stacy on my other side. I played with my latest, empty shooter glass in my hands being able to see my own reflection in it. "All I really want is to go home" I answered truthfully looking up at Tristan with the blue eyes from my reflection. He sighed rolling his eyes as he glanced at the crowd. "You remember what I said earlier? I'm not Hayden but I'm no stranger" I chewed on my cheek staring back down into the glass in my hands then set it down on the counter and stood up. "Fine but only one dance" Tristan grinned getting up to take my hand giving it a light squeeze "That's all I asked for" With that he pulled me into the crowd spinning me round so that my back was to him while his hands gripped my waist tightly. I swayed and moved to the beat of the music sometimes grinding myself up against him and others just swaying my hips to the song. My eyes drifted across the crowd and met with forest green ones leaning against a wall on the other side of the room. Hayden watched with empty eyes blank as he stared at Tristan's body pressed up against mine. 'I only want you' I repeated through the mind link sealing off the rest of the pack apart from Hayden and I. He closed his eyes and bowed his head 'I know' came back through the link before he was gone past a group of dancers.
