Star’s P.O.V
The next morning when I woke up I was still a little sore, but nothing like I was compared to yesterday. I tried to get out of bed as I was bursting for the toilet, but I couldn't move. I was wrapped up in Nash’s arms and every time I tried to wiggle free he just held me tighter and pulled me closer to him. This was impossible and if he didnt let me go soon I was going to pee myself, which obviously would be so attractive. NOT. I tried to lift his arm, but he didn't budge so I resorted to underhand tactics and kissed the tip of his nose. Nash started to smile, but he still didn't open his eyes and then I felt him move his hand to my side.
“Nash, don't you dare tickle me, I really need the toilet.” I said and he just brushed his finger up my side, sending those lovely yet weird sparks through my skin. I was still confused as to why this happened with us, but it felt amazing every time it happened.
“NASH! I NEED THE BATHROOM!.” I said, raising my voice slightly and he huffed, letting me go. I got out of bed and quickly yet carefully made my way to the toilet, just in time, but at least I could walk right unlike yesterday. I did my business and washed my hands, walking back into the bedroom, but Nash wasn't there anymore. I looked around my room when he suddenly grabbed me from behind and turned me around, kissing me and making me squeal as he started to tickle me.
“Nash….that's not….fair….” I said, laughing and trying to stop him. Suddenly he stopped tickling me and picked me up, wrapping my legs around his waist and kissing me. I could definitely get used to this, I thought to myself as Nash carried me back into the bathroom. We showered together and dried off, coming out of the bathroom and getting dressed. We went downstairs, holding hands all the way and went to the kitchen, where Emma was waiting for us, eating her breakfast.
“Morning you two.” Emma said, smiling at us.
“Morning.” Nash and I replied at the same time, making her smile even more for some reason. Okay so I guess it was cute. We ate breakfast, talking about school and what we still had left to do before graduation, but Nash was acting really weird and I think Emma noticed it too because she kept looking at him as if she was in a daze. I still haven't mentioned anything to Nash about what I saw, after all I didnt know if I was in danger or if it was all in my head, but Nash was acting like he knew something was going on and yet he never said anything. I just hope he didn't know what I saw. I had good grades at school and always managed to catch up on the work I had missed, but I was still unsure if they would let me graduate with all the time I had missed because of my dad. Hopefully I will find out today. We left Emma in the kitchen and left for school, where my first stop was the headmasters office. I knocked on his door and waited then I heard him say come in.
“Star, how can I help you today?” The headmaster asked, when I walked into his office.
“Sir, I was wondering if I would still be able to graduate with all the school that I've missed?” I asked, feeling really worried.
“I don't see why not, you always get good grades and you always catch up on the work you have missed. I don't see any reason why you wouldn't graduate, but you still need to pass your final exams like everyone else.” The headmaster replied and I smiled the biggest smile ever. I was so happy with his reply and I was so glad that my dad hadn't ruined this for me like he had everything else.
“Thank you, thank you so much. I feel so much better now.” I said, unable to get the smile off my face and the headmaster smiled at me.
“Your welcome Star, now I think it's time for you to get to class before the final bell rings.” The headmaster replied and I nodded, thanking him again and quickly leaving his office to head to class. I have never been this happy before, everything was finally going right for me. I was away from my dad and wasn't getting beaten, I had an amazing boyfriend and his family, I had a new home and now to top it all off I was going to be able to graduate. I continued on with my day and did my library job as usual, but I found some more books about the supernatural and I also found the first book I read. I took them all to the desk where Mr. Colo was and he looked up at me with a weird smile on his face.
“Star, you are the only one who checks out these books and as I can see you are checking out the first one again. I would like you to have these books as a graduation present and to say thank you for helping me in the library.” Mr. Colo said and I was shocked.
“Really? I mean really really? I can keep them?” I asked and he nodded his head, still smiling at me.
“Yes, Star. you have helped me out a lot and I really appreciate it. I have some other books like these if you're interested in them.” Mr. Colo replied, going into the back office and bringing out a huge pile of other books. I looked through the books and there were some about wars of the were’s, which looked really interesting and some more about Alpha’s, Luna’s and pups.
“This is amazing, thank you so much. I promise I will always look after them.” I said and hugged Mr. Colo, taking him by surprise.
“Your welcome, now put these away and get going, it's home time.” Mr. Colo replied, laughing. I was so happy that I hadn't even realised the time or heard the bell ring. I gathered all my books up and put them in my bag, hugging Mr. Colo a final time before leaving and meeting Nash by his car. I was smiling all the way back home and when we got back I quickly went up to my room and placed all the books on my bookshelf, which was now full as Nash and his parents had also brought me some other books. The next few days went by fairly easy and fast, we did our final exams and even though I stressed out like mad the day before, I was confident that I had passed them. Over the next few days we all got our results and Nash and I were nervous to open them at first, but Emma and Leo soon calmed us down, telling us that they were sure that we did great and they were right, we had passed with flying colours. Today was a nice and easy day, all we had to do was graduate, we had already got our cap and gowns yesterday. Nash was doing something with his dad, so I decided to just sit down and finally read my books. I had been so busy with exams and getting things ready for graduation, plus I had been taking driving lessons while at school and passed my drivers test, finally getting my license. I was finally sitting down to read the book about Luna’s and it was pretty interesting, it said that Luna's were to help and protect the pack alongside the Alpha, it explained what an Alpha was and that he was the leader, it explained what he or she did and it also explained about what a pack was. I thought about it and I wouldn't want to just sit on the side and help with the kids and women if I was in her position, I would want to get stuck in there and fight alongside them, I wouldn't want to be some helpless girl that always needed protection. I wanted to carry on reading, but then Nash came into my room and sat down on my bed.
“You do know that graduation is at two and you need to hurry and get ready.” Nash said and when I looked at the clock I saw that I was running late.
“Oh s**t. Okay, go away and leave me to get ready, you can't see my dress yet.” I said and Nash laughed as I shooed him out of my room and closed the door behind him. I pulled the sky blue, strapless dress that Nash had brought me out of my closet and put it on, then hurried to do my hair, putting it up into a high bun and letting a few strands of hair fall loose around my face. I did my make-up and once I was finished I stood in front of the full length mirror to take a look.
“Wow.” I whispered to myself. The dress still fit me perfectly and made my legs look longer. I didn't realise that Nash had snuck back into my room until I felt his arms wrap around my waist.
“If we were not rushing, that dress would be on the floor and your legs would be over my shoulders.” Nash said, looking at me through the mirror. I giggled as I turned around and softly kissed him, wrapping my arms around his neck.
“Later, but right now we have to get going. It's already twelve and we still have to get there and sign in.” I replied and he sighed, but nodded. We hurried downstairs with the rest of the group and Leo and Emma were already waiting in the truck for us. We all piled inside and hurried to get to the school where the graduation was being held. We got there and quickly went over to sign ourselves in, put our cap and gowns on and then went to sit down. The headmaster stood up at the podium and began to give his speech, saying how great this year has been and how all the students worked really hard to get this far. When he was done with his speech he started talking about the students and when he was done with that he introduced the woman who was going to hand out the diplomas. The woman stood up and started calling out names, starting with the A’s all the way down to the S’s. they called out so many names and finally they called my name and a few others. Once we all had our diplomas everyone got up from their seats and started cheering for everyone, it was so loud that it took a few minutes to calm us down.
“HERE'S TO THE CLASS OF 2021!!” The headmaster announced and all the students got up, throwing their caps in the air. There was a huge celebration and after it was over and done with everyone went back home, but Leo and Emma took us all out to eat. After we had all finished we got back into the car and went back home, but for some reason Emma and Leo seemed really excited and anxious, which was unusual for them.
“So Star, now that you have graduated what do you want to do? Do you have any questions about anything?” Emma asked me as we drove back. I thought for a moment and there were so many questions that I wanted to ask her, but not about graduation or anything else like that. I wanted to talk about that night I saw the bears, I had my suspicions about all of them, but I was scared and I didn't want to just come right out and say it because if I was wrong they would think I was nuts. What happens if I asked them about all of this and they wanted to eat me or worse make me go out into the woods and get attacked by rogues? I shivered at the thought of that. I decided not to say anything just yet and just answer the question that she had asked me.
“Well, I want to keep working in the library, I already told Mr. Colo that I would keep working there. I could help so many kids find what they need.” I replied and Leo and Emma smiled at me.
“We think that's a wonderful idea, Star, but we have something for you. Since you passed your drivers test and got your license. Come on we want to show you something.” Emma said, just as we pulled up at the house. Everyone was standing outside the front of the house and Leo parked the car up. I got out and Nash put his hand over my eyes, then led me to the side, where everyone followed.
“Okay, you can open your eyes now.” Nash said and there in the driveway was a huge SUV in my favourite colour, sky blue.
“It has everything you need, bluetooth, a cd player and there's even a small TV in the back.” Leo said and my mouth fell open in shock. I ran my fingers across the polished, sparkling car and smiled at the big pink bow that was on top of the hood.
“Wow, thank you so much. I promise to take care of it.” I said, still in shock.
“Your welcome, sweetie and we know you will. We are just glad that you're here and that you're okay, that's all.” Emma replied, smiling at me.
“I’m truly okay, but I do want to thank you for everything you have done for me. Thank you so much.” I said, hugging them both and then we walked into the house. This day has been amazing and I don't think it could get any better.
“Nash, can I see you in my office please?” Leo said and Nash nodded, with Emma following behind them.
“We’ll be back in a few minutes, we just have to talk to Nash about something.” Emma said and we all nodded.
“I'm going to head up to my room, I’m going to read some and relax. It's been a long and exciting day, I think it's just tiring me out a little.” I said, turning to the others and thankfully they all understood. I hurried upstairs to my room, but I wasn't going to read, I had already read all those books and had learnt everything I needed to know. I just needed to confirm what I thought I already knew.
