Chapter 2: Wild Flowers

677 Words
Nathan POV Lately I had the same harsh headache that I usually have whenever  I was to much time home, with all of those people who I called family. At home we were 8, my adoptive parents Gloria and Wesley and my adoptive Brothers and Sisters, Laura, Martin, James, Sarah and Lucas. I was adopted when I was 7 years old and been told that my parents was killed by drug  dealers who they worked with, when I was 3 years old, they also always told me that I did not have any other family who could keep me, reason why I was put in a Foster Home and then finally been adopted by Wesley and Gloria who could not have children at the time. Three years before they adopted Laura who was four months older than me. Martin was adopted when I was 10 and he was 5, miraculously, when Martin had 7, our adopted parents gave birth to James, and 2 years after borned the twins Sarah and Lucas. Now that Laura and I were 20 and the twins which were the smallest 6 years, you could imagine how crowded and noisy our house was at all times. We live near the center of the city, were Wesley and Gloria had a car parts store and a mechanic shop in the back.  When Laura and I graduated High School we decided to stay and help out in the store and with our smaller siblings. I really got to love my adopted family although I always felt I had more family somewhere, I really did not know how, but it was an itching feeling and those weird dreams I think I had sometimes while  I am awake, like if someone was trying to communicate with me, from inside my head, yes although it sounded real crazy. Laura more than my sister, I considered her my best friend, since we had the same age and was always in the same class at school. I think she felt the same since she was always taking care of me, specially whenever any girl got close enough to be my girlfriend. Since I have never were really interested in any of them, I always let her get away with  it. From my 18th birthday, I have been experiencing the dreams, voices and headaches, reason why I had got real acquainted with Mr. Green the owner of the town Pharmacy, who will always help me getting my migraine pills.   The truth was, that I usually buy a bottle of water in the Pharmacy and take my pills right there and then, but today was definitely different, since from the moment I opened the Pharmacy front door, at first my sense and headache got intense, they were also tinglings all over my body, then the pain was soothed by a nice scent of wild flowers, that made me seek for the scent in that peculiar way I have developed from my 18th Birthday. When I finally spotted were the beautiful scent was coming from, I met with the most pretty hazel eyes I have ever saw, in a tall,  tan skin color girl with brown hair,  that really fit her gorgeously, I could tell she also was affected since although she tried, she never took her eyes off of me. After Mr. Green gave me the medicine, I knew I will have to face her, since it seems that she was the new cashier, so I pull some energy to be able to look casual and even ask her for her name. I really thought she was not going to easily let me know her name, but surprisingly after I gave her mine and looked straight in her eyes she made me know she was April Carter.  I turned around to head to the door, since the scent was urging me to do other things to this beautiful girl I just met, but that affected me like how any other never did. I mumbled how I thought her height was rare around the place and headed out of the Pharmacy, before the scent will drive me totally insane.
