My head was spinning. How was I meant to be the Queen Luna? I failed at just being a regular Luna. The rouges still had to decide if they wanted to join the pack. Would we even class as just a pack anymore. Oh, this was too much. Way too much. Chris came over to us and stood beside Wyatt. He looked like he was uncomfortable, and I didn't know why. Was it me? Did I make him uncomfortable? Mikal was watching us this entire time. "Before I make my choice, I need to speak with Isana alone," he said calmly. Wyatt raised an eyebrow at him and looked to me to see what I would decide. Why am I the one deciding? He's the king, shouldn't he? 'He may be the king, but we're his mate, and it's our choice.' Senna spoke to me. I thought for a minute and nodded my head in agreement. I stood up, and Mikal followed me.
We entered a room adjacent to the hall, and it was clear I looked at Mikal, I could see the hesitation on his face. "Just tell me straight," I said, my patience lacking from anticipation. He sighed. "You already knew that I had to drug you to get you out of your old pack, but what you don't know is why." He took a deep breath."I had to get you out because there's a seer who travelled with me from time to time, and she saw your death. At the hands of Alpha, and when you died, so did the whole pack shortly after." My legs felt weak as though I had just been dealt a devastating blow. I knew if I didn't leave at some point, he would have eventually killed me, but I heard it. It was a tough pill to swallow. Mikal steadied me. "Are you OK?" He asked. I nodded."Why did your seer friend care enough to save me?"
Mikal closed his eye's for a moment, and when he opened them, his steeled resolve was evident like he was going to make a confession that would shatter him. "Because you're my little sister." I shook my head. No, that's not possible. I was an only child. He's lying. I shoved him. "Don't lie to me. I have always been an only child. I would know if I had an older brother!" I practically shouted at him. At my raised voice, Wyatt came in and held me close his scent, calming me. "What's wrong?" He asked me calmly, concern evident in his voice. I was unaware of the tears streaming from my eyes until I saw his shirt wet from my tears. "Mikal is trying to claim he's my older brother. But I don't have any siblings. " I wiped my face. I'm not entirely sure why I was crying. But then I realised it's because I missed my father. The thought of family made me think of him. But I knew I would never see him again."I'm not lying, Isana," Mikal said, hurt. Wyatt looked to Mikal uncertainty across his face. "We will do a test. If you're lying, I will throw you out myself. Follow me." Wyatt spoke calmly and lifted me, carrying me across the hall through the kitchens, and I snuggled into his chest, the sound of his beating heart bringing me comfort. As we left the building, people watched us with curiosity, but I paid them no mind. My mind was spinning in chaos. If mikal was my brother, then why wouldn't I remember him. No, he had to be lying. Besides, we looked nothing alike. I didn't know how long Wyatt had been carrying me for, but he never tired or slowed in his stride. When we entered the pack, the hospital nurses and doctors were busy rushing about. Our kind didn't get sick but we weren't immortal we could still get hurt and even with our accelerated healing having doctors and nurses around to help meant we'd be healed and sent off within hours rather than spending days recuperating. Wyatt walked up the stairs with Mikal right behind as we entered into a young woman's office. Looking at her, she couldn't have been older than her late twenties. She had wild dark hair and eyes. Looking at her skin, I was jealous it looked so soft yet dark. She blushed when she saw Mikal as he stood awkwardly. Introducing herself as Dr Perkins to us. Wyatt told her everything, and she drew blood samples from both me and Mikal. We would know the results within an hour as she was kind enough to test it immediately. We sat waiting in her office, me cuddling up to Wyatt in his lap. Mikal on the examination bed practically falling asleep.
Every second that went past, it felt like I was frozen in time. When Dr. Perkins returned, and she held the results in her hands. She handed them to me.
50% match. With a lot of other things, I didn't understand, but at the bottom, it was written plain as day. The sibling match confirmed.
Mikal is my brother.
