Chapter-[5]

[ Seline ] I lost the count of hours as the car kept moving to an unknown destination, well for me because the men sitting inside the same car looked contended and the triumphant expression on their faces was the reflection of our defeat and helplessness. The first rays of sun colored the east horizon in fire orange, it was already morning. I was in a totally foreign geography. I guess, we crossed the borders of state and traveling to the North region. “Home is near, Seline.” I heard him saying to me but I chose to ignore and zeroed my attention on the moving trees and vehicles on the single road. If it is my fate, then I am not accepting this blasphemy. Hades might be my mate but I know I will fight till my last breath but I won’t be spending my life with a slayer. “He can listen to us, Sel. So, tame your rebellious thoughts.” Ruby warned me but she didn’t sound as gloomy as I was. After the drive of another thirty minutes, a beautiful, out of this planet like place, came into my view. There were houses lined up on either side of the roads, men, women and children, they all were beautiful, tall and healthy. I never saw wolves like them. “This is our pack, Seline. We have reached home.” Hades said again, his voice was polite again. “This is not my home. I am just a captive dragged here against my will. So, stop referring this prison as my home. I do not belong here.” I snapped back in a flat tone, my anger resurfacing because I never planned this life for me. Why did I not stay in the city and spent the summer with my friends? Suddenly, the car stopped with a screech and Hades, along with other two men stepped out. The door of my side was opened by Hades himself. For the first time in hours, I saw him in broad daylight. He was the most handsome man that God has created by His hands, tall muscular, fair but slightly tanned skin, raven black hairs were cut short and the most striking features on his face, were his eyes which were now a shade of ash grey. “Let me help you, Seline.” He said again, this time a small smile formed on his lips as he stretched out his hand. I again ignored him and stepped down from the car myself. He should understand soon that I am not his damsel who needs him to tend me all the time like I am a fragile piece of artifact. I might not be as strong as him but I have the will to never give up. His smile dropped but he masked it. The cool and crisp air touched my body. The smell in the air was fresh, filled with floral scents. I roamed my eyes in the surroundings, we actually stood in the premises of a huge villa, it was surrounded by stone walls. “This is my house but I can give you the tour of the packhouse later where I stay most of the time to administrate the pack.” He said. “I wonder you have a pack? Since when a gang of slayers have a pack?” I scoffed rolling my eyes in mockery. “You are standing at the grounds of Black Valley Pack, Seline.” I blinked my eyes, not able to believe what I just heard. “Excuse me? Did you just mention Black Valley Pack?” I narrowed my eyes. He nodded his head slightly with sparks in his eyes, “Yes, I am Alpha Sebestian Steele of Black Valley Pack, Ms. Pierce. I know you must be wondering and a lot is going in your mind. You’ll get your answers soon. For now, I want you to rest and make yourself comfortable.” He said with same tenderness. “Alpha, I have checked the security, the house is safe for Miss Pierce.” Another man who accompanied him during the attack last night, said to him. “Thank you, Dylan. The last night was rough for us. Please, go home and rest.” Hades said to him and he left with a bow. “He is my Beta. You can ask him for anything you need when I am not around but it’s likely impossible because I won’t be leaving you alone for a second, mate.” He said, his lips curved into a smile but my heart sank with voidness. “I am tired and I want to rest.” I said looking away from him. His love filled eyes were stirring something within me. He gestured me to follow him inside the house. He was right behind me. The house, undoubtedly, the most beautiful villa I have ever seen. It was a perfect blend of modern architecture and classic wooden structure. The house was quiet, I couldn’t sense another presence inside until a maid came running and bowed to Hades. “Good morning, Alpha. Sorry, I was in kitchen.” She said in a trembling voice. “Meet Seline, my mate, Kacy.” He said placing his hand on the small of my waist. Her eyes widened as soon as his word sank in her. “Ma..mate?” She stuttered. “Yes, you heard me right, Kacy. She is my mate. I have called the pack for a celebration tonight where I will announce this news.” Hades said. She bowed to me in the next moment and I flinched back. “Luna, in your service.” She offered her respect towards me and I cringed. “It’s alright, you can call me by my name. I don’t believe in such formalities and I am much younger than you.” I said with awkwardness. “I am sorry, Luna but I can’t address you by your name.” She denied politely. “Kacy, she is new to this so she is feeling overwhelmed. Please, prepare her room. Meanwhile, I’ll show her the guestroom.” He said and then turned to me. “Come with me, mate.” He said in a love filled voice. I closed my eyes and mustered up my confidence. “Drop this drama, Hades. I know who you are. You can’t fool me by your sweet talks and this façade mask. An evil, bloodthirsty slayer like you can never love someone.” I yelled at him as anger broke the bridge of my patience. His smile dropped and sorrow contoured his face and those sparkling eyes became dull again.
