The Bad Boy's Rose

Chapter Four

It's another day, I couldn't sleep due to what Kayden told me yesterday. He said that there were others searching for the truth. But who else? I thought I was the only one looking for the clues.

"Isabelle." I turn to see Isaac walking towards me, his head was held high as his grey eyes glimmered in the light. I clear my throat, as much as he was shady- it didn't change the fact he was really attractive.

As soon as he reaches where I was standing, I was hit with his amazing cologne, i inhale it religiously before looking up at him.

"I was searching for you." he says, oh really, so he could tell me where the next clue is.

"I want to invite you to a party," he states, he looks around the hallway, "the next clue is in that party." Of course there had to be a catch.

"Whose party?" I ask him, he smirks before responding.

"The Beasts."

I don't understand how he and his friends alongside my cousin Quinn- can't pronounce Hunters name. I quirk one eyebrow up, what was in that party that Isaac wanted me to go so badly.

"I thought you and your friends said that I should stay away from Hunter?"

Isaac shakes his head, as he places his hand on my shoulder. "the others don't have to know, plus I'll be at the party with you if that makes you feel better." his eyes glimmered as I purse my lips.

"I-I don't know." I stammer, Isaac grabs my hand and pulls it closer to him- I shiver slightly as he starts to speak.

"Don't worry, nothing will happen- once you find the clue I'll take you home safely and we could watch a movie or something." he offers, I look at him startled.

Isaac was willing to spend his whole night with me?

"Fine, I'll go." I say as I see a ghost of a smile form as he releases my hand.

"We could go after school ends, I'll drive you to your house and you could quickly get ready." he tells me as I nod my head.

"Sure, I guess I'll see you there." he nods his head as he walks towards the opposite direction.

Once Isaac was gone my phone vibrates, I furrow my eyebrows in confusion as I pick up my phone. I don't have anyone's number other than my fathers- since I was new in this town.

It's Kayden, meet me @ the school's library ASAP I need to show you something.

How did Kayden get my number?

I didn't know whether I should go or not, Kayden has been revealing the clues to me- maybe if I go he would tell me another.

I walk towards the school's library.

As soon as I reach the library I notice Kayden and Hunter talking in hushed tones.

"Finally, she arrives." Kayden states, I frown as I walk towards them.

Hunter doesn't look at me, I ignore him as I looked at Kayden.

"Why did you text me? Most importantly how did you get my number?" I enquire as he smirks.

"Rose. It's not the time for you to ask me questions- I want to show you something." he says as he grabs a book- it was the same yellow book from the day before.

He opens the book to the page where the book mark is left on to reveal a page has been ripped out.

"The meaning of the number 16, is gone?" I look at him as he nods his head.

"It's clear that she ripped it." Hunter says from behind, I glare at him as Kayden shook his head.

"You see she didn't rip it out, someone else was in the library with us yesterday- but we don't know who." Kayden tells the both of us as Hunter frowns.

"Why is someone else trying to find out the truth?" I ask him, Kayden says nothing. Instead Hunter walks towards me.

"Someone's watching you." he whispers.

"W-What?"

"When you're searching for these clues that Isaac knows we know about, someone's following you- damn it Kayden this happened last time with Valerie." Hunter mumbles.

Valerie my cousin who went missing, the one who was reported dead.

"Wait, does that mean the same person might do the same thing to Rose like they did to Valerie?" Kayden says slightly overwhelmed.

"No, I won't allow it." Hunter says in a low voice.

"Wait If Isaac knows that you guys are aware of the clues then why is he making me search for them?" I look at them, they both look at each other and nod their heads.

"He wants you to despise me, so that you can accomplish the thing your cousin Valerie failed to do." Hunter informs me.

"What did she fail to do?" I queried, Hunter purses his lips as he doesn't say anything.

"The less you know, the better." Kayden says breaking the silence.

"I don't know whether I should look for the other clues, clearly the last time somebody did that- they died." I say sarcastically as they both keep a straight face.

"Carry on finding the clues, fool Isaac so Hunter and I could find out who killed Valerie." Kayden says as he looks at Hunter.

"So you're coming to my party today?" Hunter enquires.

"I am." I say as he frowns.

"With Isaac?" he adds.

"Yeah," I respond as he keeps a expressionless face. "I'll see you there." he says before pausing.

"Why don't we change the game Kayden?" Hunter looks at Kayden.

Kayden looks surprised. "How so?" he says in disbelief.

"I'll give Belle this locket, she wears it to the party and Isaac should recognise it as it is the clue she needs- out of anger he may do something." Hunter holds a locker that quote the words, until the last petal falls.

Kayden widens his eyes, "that's perfect, it would cause Isaac to wonder why she has the clue that she was meant to look for."

"But what would Isaac do?" I ask the both of them.

"Isaac would either rip the necklace off you and confront me about it- and that would tell me that he's ready take things to the extreme by telling you the whole truth." Hunter says but his voice falters.

"Once he tells you the whole truth, I doubt you'd want to talk to me ever again- his side of the story is twisted." Hunter concludes.

"But he could do something else." Kayden mutters, "he would change the game." he says as Hunter scowls.

"He can't." Hunter says exasperated, "But he could." Kayden intervenes.

"If he was able to change the game, what would he do?" I ask them.

"As time goes on, you'll realise the type of person Isaac is Belle." Hunter says in a chilling tone, I shiver as he changes his expression.

"Take this necklace." Hunter says, "turn around." He tells me. I do as he says as he moves my hair to the side as he places the necklace around my neck. I feel goosebumps as his cold hands accidentally touch me.

Once he's done I turn around, I look down- until the last petal falls. The necklace was beautiful.

"Let's see what happens tonight." Kayden says as he places the book back to its original position.

"Kayden show me that book." Hunter says as Kayden grabs the book and hands it over to Hunter.

Behind the yellow book it stated something.

"I'll be waiting for you tonight." Hunter reads out loud, he squints, "signed by X."

"So the person is going to be at my party tonight." Hunter clenches his jaw.

"We can finally track the person who killed Valerie." Kayden says as Hunter nods his head.

"But who is this X person waiting for?" I ask Hunter.

"You Belle." he mumbles clenching his fists.
