*Three months later*
It's been three months of endless therapies for Tracey. She got worse in the first month because of so many mean comments about her and at a point, her parents took her phone and told her to focus on recovery.
In two months, the whole thing had died down and everyone came to accept Jane Burns as Tristan's new wife. Tracey was forgotten and in the past month, she got so much better.
"I'm glad that we can finally eat happily as one family again. The atmosphere is tranquil and it will be nice to go out together after so long" Mrs Shaw said at breakfast.
"I know right? I'm really sorry for causing so much trouble and honestly, Tristan told me he loved someone else before we got married but I stubbornly wanted him because I was in love with him and I thought he would feel the same way as time went by" Tracey said.
"It's okay. Let's forget about everything that happened and clink our glasses to a new beginning" Mr Shaw said we they all raised their coffee cups and cheered with a smile.
"Big sis, you don't know how much I missed you. Even though you've been at home for over three months now, I missed you more than when you were away from home, married to Tristan" Sophie said to Tracey in her room after they finished breakfast.
"I know right? I really made everyone worried about me but I promise it won't happen again. Should we go shopping since you miss me a lot?" Tracey asked with a smile.
"Of course! I would totally love to" Sophie screamed and rushed to her room to get dressed.
Within thirty minutes, both of them were ready and the driver took them to one of the biggest malls in the city. Just like the old days, they had fun and picked all the pretty things they saw. Unfortunately, their happiness didn't last long as they came across Jane who was also in the mall to shop.
Tracey rolled her eyes and tried to walk past her but Jane stopped her from leaving.
"Get your filthy hands off me" Tracey gritted angrily.
"Why are you avoiding me like we are strangers? I know we didn't meet on good terms but you were once married to my husband so I'll like for us to say hi at least when we see each other" Jane said.
"For what reason should we say hi? Have you completely lost your mind because Tristan publicly announced you as his first love? You might be his first love now but who knows when another first love will suddenly show up out of the blue? I managed to survive been married to him for six years so let's see how long both of you can be together. There's no assurance that what happened to me won't happen to you because Tristan is obviously a scumbag" Tracey spat.
"So what if he's a scumbag? It doesn't change the fact that you begged for his love and attention for six years. I've always been the only woman in his heart so you can keep dreaming if you think our marriage will turn out like yours" Jane whispered to Tracey's ear.
Just as Jane was about to return to her normal standing position, she saw Tristan walking towards them and fell backwards, pretending like Tracey pushed her.
"Pretentious b***h" Sophie mumbled.
"Are you okay?" Tristan asked worriedly and pulled her up.
"What do you think you are doing?" Tristan asked fiercely turning to whoever it was and he was surprised to see Tracey. She looked better than he expected and even came shopping, she must be doing pretty well, he thought.
"I don't know what you're thinking and I have no reason to explain myself to you. You can enjoy your time with your wife" Tracey said and turned to leave but Tristan stopped her.
"Where are you going without apologizing to her?" Tristan asked.
"Why should I apologize to her when she fell on her own?" Tracey scoffed.
"Do you thing it makes sense that she fell on her own? I clearly saw you push her" he said.
"Ahh, you clearly saw me. Whether you saw me or not is your business but I won't apologize to her in this lifetime" Tracey said.
"You better apologize to her now before people gather around us and start taking videos. I'm sure you don't want to experience the same thing that happened two months ago and I bet it'll probably be worse this time" Tristan smirked.
"Do you think that's something to joke about? Big sis said she was okay and that it was her fault so we didn't do anything to you but how dare you say something like that? You're a total asshole and I hate my former self for thinking of you as an elder brother for a moment. You divorced my kind-hearted sister and married this vermin instead so you should deal with your problems yourself. My sister didn't push her and that's it. Don't try to stop us again or I'll scream and tell people that you're bullying me" Sophie threatened and left with Tracey.
"Seriously, why does she talk so much like Tessa? Those annoying brats" Tristan muttered and faced Jane.
"I'm sorry I couldn't get her to apologize to you. I apologize on her behalf so just let it go" Tristan said.
"Why would he apologize on her behalf? It would have been better if he didn't say anything" Jane thought.
"It's okay, I wasn't angry anyway. I understand that she hates me because I took you away from her so I'm willing to be punished this much at least" she said with a smile.
"Why should you be punished? If anyone should be punished, it should be her because she separated us from each other for six years. Don't say something like this again please" Tristan said and Jane nodded with a smile as they left the mall.
"Big sis, how could you just stand there and watch both of them insult you like that when you're even more sassy than I am? You shouldn't allow them to trample over you like that" Sophie said in the car.
"I know right? You saved me from trouble today. Thanks baby sis" Tracey smiled.
"It's nothing. I can do this over and over again as long as I get to teach those people a lesson for messing with you" Sophie giggled.
"I think it's time to open my gallery again. I'm getting better already but I think I will feel even better and return to my old self if I open my gallery again." Tracey said.
"Oh my God! Really? I can't wait to see your exquisite paintings once again" Sophie squealed in excitement.
When they got home, they met their parents in the sitting room and it looked like they were having a serious conversation.
"It's good that you guys are back. Come with us Tracey, we need to talk" Mr Shaw said.
"What do you want to talk about? You guys are so serious" Tracey asked when they were in her room.
"Now that you are back, we want you to start going to the company to learn how it works and finally take over once you are good enough" Mr Shaw said.
"We initially thought Tristan will guide you on how to run a business and that both of you will run both companies together but since things turned out like this, you will have to manage the company alone. Fortunately, we didn't proceed with the merger and acquisition while you guys were married so there won't be any problem" Mrs Shaw said.
"But I want to open my gallery. You already know that I only want to be an artist in this life. Both of you are still young so you can wait for Sophie to take over when she grows a bit older" Tracey said.
"It's not like we can't wait for Sophie but what if she also does not want to go into business? Since you are the first child, you will definitely have more responsibility on your shoulders. Sophie can share the responsibility with you when she's older and she can even take over the whole business while you focus on art but for now, you should be the heiress of the business" Mr Shaw said.
"I can be the heiress but will I be able to run my gallery at the same time? I can only be the heiress if I can do that" Tracey said.
"Of course you can! It will be a bit difficult at first since you will have to spend more time in the company as a beginner but as time goes on, you will know how to shuffle between both jobs and you will get used to it in no time" Mr Shaw explained.
"That's good then. When should I start work at the company?" Tracey asked.
"As soon as possible so next week Monday" Mr Shaw said.
"Next week Monday? Why didn't you tell me about it before so that I could have shopped for corporate wears at the mall? Now I have to go to the mall for that again before this week runs out" Tracey frowned.
"We passed our message so we will be off now" Mrs Shaw said and hurriedly left with her husband.
"Mo.....m" Tracey whined.
"It's a good thing that I will be extremely busy for now so I won't have time to think about my misfortune. I'm sure I will get over it soon enough" Tracey said to herself.
*Monday*
The big day that Tracey has been waiting for is finally here. She was resuming work at her father's company and on the same day, she was reopening her gallery.
It wasn't easy to put things in place since she laid off every worker in her gallery. She had to work really hard over the weekend to return things to their original place and her hard work paid off. Her mom hired a make up artist and a stylist to take care of her make up and clothes and she looked really stunning by the time she was done dressing up.
"Wow! You look breathtakingly beautiful. My pretty daughter" Mrs Shaw complimented.
"Of course I'm my Mom's daughter. I should be as beautiful as you" Tracey said proudly.
"Alright! Now go to work and show them how it's done" Mrs Shaw cheered.
The driver took Tracey to her Dad's company first as she didn't want to go late on her first day. She decided to go to her gallery later for the opening ceremony.
As soon as she stepped into the company, all eyes were on her and she had comments from all sides. Everyone either praised her beauty or talked about how her aura was similar to her Dad. She was walking elegantly with a smiling face until someone talked about her relationship with Tristan and she stopped in her tracks. Since she heard it clearly, she was able to figure out who said it.
"What did you just say?" she asked the lady who was now trembling on a spot.
"N... nothing ma. I didn't say anything" she responded.
"That answer is really annoying. Should I say it on your behalf since I heard you clearly or will you say it yourself?" Tracey asked.
"I will say it myself since you're keeping quiet. What's so special about her when she's a divorcee that was rejected by Tristan? Right?" Tracey said and faced her.
"I'm really sorry Miss Tracey. I don't know what came over me, please forgive me" she pleaded on her knees.
"You shouldn't have made me say it myself then even though the outcome will still be the same. You are fired and I don't want to see you anywhere close to this company or it's branches ever again." Tracey said.
"Why? You think I can't fire you since it's my first day here?" Tracey scoffed when the lady stared at her plainly.
"Where is the manager of the HR department?" Tracey screamed.
"I.... I'm here Miss Tracey" the man said with his head bowed.
"I want this lady fired this instant and none of our branches must ever employ her" Tracey ordered.
"Yes ma'am, I will take care of it right away" the man said and scurried away.
"Others can say what they want but you're getting paid by this company and you think you can say whatever you want about it's owners? Even a dog won't bite it's owner but I guess you're worse than a dog" Tracey concluded and left with the same aura but instead of a smiling face this time, she had a fierce look on her face.
