Not Who You Think

Taylor sat on the grass with her friends while she waited for Zag to find her. “Why would you think that Zag would harm you?” Taylor asked, still confused why they would think that. Fang looked at Emberto and Icy and sighed. “Well, Zag is a demon in all fairness. He is also very powerful. Have you seen his true form yet?” Taylor looked confused and shook her head no. “I didn’t even think that he shifted, but I suppose that makes sense. I did see Dilfiri in a sort of a demon form.” Taylor said thinking about it. Icy nodded and said, “well, his true form is terrifying even to us. Zag is not known for his niceness in the realms.” Taylor thought about what Icy and Fang had said. Taylor couldn’t help but wonder why he was so feared. Then she thought how hot it would be to see his true form and how fierce her friends are saying he is. She then shook her head and thought to herself, “what kind of sick dark person am I?” Taylor then said, “I haven’t seen that side of him. He has been so nice to me.” Emberto rolled his eyes and said, “yes, because you are his mate.” Taylor frowned and looked out towards the horizon.

Taylor laid back on the grass getting a bit tired, which she thought was odd because her physical body was already sleeping. “Why am I getting tired? I’m already physically sleeping. This does not make any sense.” Taylor said out loud. Emberto, Icy, and Fang looked terrified when they looked over at Taylor. Icy lets out a blood curdling scream that travelled for miles. Soon, Zag appears and looks at Taylor. “What have you guys done?” Zag asked as he ran up to Taylor. “We did nothing. She asked why she was so tired when her physical body is already sleeping. She became very pale and closed her eyes. That is what the scream was. I was calling for you.” Icy said looking down at Taylor. Zag was completely flabbergasted. “You three will come with me. I know she won’t be happy if I leave you three here.” Zag said as he lifted Taylor into his arms. Zag closed his eyes and the three monsters closed their eyes as well. Zag teleported the 5 of them to his office. Zag called for his sister. “Dilfiri, come to my office please. It’s Taylor, she is sleeping in her dream while her physical body is sleeping. I can not wake her.” Zag said to his sister.

Patty clocked in a few hours early. She felt like she needed to be there and go check Taylor. Patty couldn’t explain the feeling, she just knew she needed to hurry and go check on Taylor. Patty put all of her stuff in her locker and went to the elevators. Patty was in a rush and wasn’t paying attention to her surroundings and walked right into something. “Oof, what was that?” Patty asked and looked around. She saw Mr. Robert standing in front of her. “Oh, Mr. Robert, I am so terribly sorry. I did not see you there.” Patty said as she stood up and dusted herself off. “Why weren’t you watching where you are going? Also, why are you here so early?” Mr. Robert asked Patty. “I came in early today, I already have clearance to work more than regular hours. I have some bills that need to be caught up.” Patty played off, not completely lying. Mr. Robert smirked and said, “that’s why you need a man Patty.” Patty rolled her eyes and said, “I have a boyfriend, but it is not his job to pay my bills. I need to go do my checks and begin working. Sorry again for running into you.” Patty then walked to the elevator and pushed the button. The elevator closed and she was on her way to Taylor’s floor.

Patty did notice how odd Mr. Robert was acting, even for him. Patty looked at the clipboards and notes about the patients and saw that Taylor’s was gone. “Where the hell is it?” Patty asked herself frantically looking for Taylor’s clipboard. Patty began to panic and had a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach. Patty grabbed her keys and ran to Taylor’s room. She wasn’t sure what was going on or what was wrong with Taylor. She didn’t even know if anything was wrong with Taylor. Patty all of a sudden fell face first on the floor. Her head hit the floor and her world started spinning. She closed her eyes to try to get everything to stop spinning. She felt her foot hit something sort of solid. Patty turned her body to see what she tripped over. “F*ck! Mrs. Patter. Mrs. Patter.” Patty called to her as she drug herself over to Mrs. Patter. Patty reached her hand up and began to shake Mrs. Patter. Mrs. Patter gave a little grunt and Patty sighed in relief. “Mrs. Patter, it’s Patty. I need you to wake up.” Mrs. Patter slowly opened her eyes and then groaned as her head and legs hurt. “What happened?” Mrs. Patter asked as she felt the back on her head. She looked down at Patty and her eyes went wide.

“Patty, oh goodness, are you okay?” Mrs. Patter asked Patty as she made sure her head wasn’t bleeding. “I’m okay, I tripped over your legs and hit my head on the floor. We need to get to Taylor. I don’t know what’s going on, but something doesn’t feel right.” Patty said as she attempted to stand. Mrs. Patter steadied herself agains the wall, then helped Patty stand up. Patty was a little wobbly at first. Mrs. Patter held on to her, making sure she did not fall again. They held on to each other and made it to Taylor’s door. Patty fumbled with the keys, but finally got the right key. “Ahh, Taylor, it appears they have tried to come to your rescue. Don’t worry, they won’t be able to interrupt us.” The intruder creepily said to the unconscious Taylor. Patty unlocked the lock but it would’t open. Patty pulled out her other keys and soon the door flung open. Patty and Mrs. Patter’s mouths dropped open in complete shock. “What are you doing in here?” Patty asked unsure what was going on.

Dilfiri walked into Zag’s office and immediately ran up to Taylor. “Why is she so pale? How is she in a deep sleep if her body is physically asleep?” Dilfiri asked beginning to panic. “I have a feeling someone is in her room doing something to her physical body so that she can not go anywhere in her dreams.” Zag said trying to figure out what was going on. He then decided that he needed to go to Taylor’s physical body and save her. “I want you four to watch over her here. I am going top side.” Zag said as his eyes became a deep blood red and wings sprung from his back. Zag left his office and flew off to save his mate. He was going to show whomever was hurting her why he is feared. “I’ll be so glad when she is out of that place. I’m about to tear the whole thing down. Human’s be damned.” Zag said to himself as he disappeared into the sky.

Patty and Mrs. Patter stood frozen in their spot, unsure how it was even possible. “Get away from her, now.” Patty said starting to take a step towards Taylor. “Tsk tsk tsk nurse Patty. You should know you should never approach me.” The man said to Patty. Mrs. Patter started to become angry. “Vergil, you step away from Taylor now. What did you do to her?” Mrs. Patter asked the man. Vergil began laughing, “I’m doing whatever I wish. Dr. Trey gave me the go ahead so that we can catch her little mate. I was getting ready to ask Mr. Robert if he wanted to join in on the fun. Unfortunately, you both came in. I didn’t foresee you having her deadbolt key.” Vergil said with a smirk. “Move away from her now Vergil. You need to be going back to your room.” Patty said to Vergil, trying to get him to move away from Taylor. Vergil ran so fast to Patty and pinned her against the wall. Vergil smelled Patty and said, “mmm, your scent is so appealing.” He leaned into her ear and said, “I bet you taste amazing. We can come to an arrangement if you like. I’ll take you over Taylor. I hadn’t gotten to start with Taylor, other than inject her with the medicine Dr. Trey told me to use.”

Patty’s heart rate began to beat harder. “What do you say nurse Patty? You ready to know what it’s like with a vampire?” Vergil asked Patty. Patty couldn’t move, it was like she was frozen in her spot. “Let me go Vergil. Now!” Patty said as her stomach decided to do flip flops. Vergil smirked and went to bite her neck when he was thrown off of Patty and slammed into the wall. Vergil opened his eyes to see what caused that and his eyes widened. “What..what are you doing here?” Vergil asked with fear in his voice. “What did you give Taylor?” Zag asked Vergil. Patty ran over to Taylor with Mrs. Patter to check her vitals and see if they could wake her. “I don’t know what I injected her with. Dr. Trey assigned me the task. I didn’t ask questions when he offered to free me from this place in exchange for doing as he told me to do.” Vergil said to Zag. “Where’s the needle?” Zag asked looking Vergil straight in the eyes. Vergil pulled out the needled and handed it to Zag. Zag smelled the needle and realized that she was given wolfsbane and a sedative to make her sleep and not dream. That explained why she got tired while dreaming.

Zag looked at Vergil and snapped his fingers. Vergil screamed for a split second as he was turned to dust. “He’s in for some real fun when I get back. Patty, is there anything that we can use to counter this mixture?” Zag asked still angry that Taylor was injected by this concoction. Patty shook her head and said, “the only thing I can do is give her fluids to help flush it out of her system. I will go grab what I need and be right back.” Patty went to stand up and almost fell down. She held her head knowing she was trying to fight the concussion she had gotten from hitting the floor. Zag walked over and helped Patty up off the floor. He placed his hands on either side of Patty’s head and closed his eyes. He gently let go of her and she felt better. “What did you, you know what, never mind. Thank you Zag. I will be right back with the stuff.” Patty said not wanting to even question a good thing. Patty ran down the hallway and went to the medicine storage room. She grabbed 4 bags and everything else she needed. Once she had everything she ran back to Taylor’s room and got to work immediately.
