Her Bestfriend's Case

❂Chapter 10❂

“I actually love Hunter, is this what falling in love feels like?” -Keely James

August 22

“Now, we need to ask you some questions, can you help us?” Detective #2 says while clicking the pen.

Kylie just nods, still a little shocked.

“Does hunter have any enemies?” Detective #1 asks while folding his arms over his chest.

Kylie thinks for a moment.

 “Um, there was this girl, an ex, he’s only been with two girls in his life and this girl was literally a psycho, she was controlling and mean to him, her name is Alexa and she is a freshman at the college by here.” Kylie tells them remembering her threatening Hunter.

“Oh, and she threatened Keely a couple of times too.” Kylie informs them.

“What did she say to Keely?” Detective #2 asks her while writing all of this down on his notepad.

“That she needed to stay away from Hunter, or she will beat her to death.” Kylie tells them.

Both detectives look at her then at each other.

“Do you have her last name?” Detective #1 asks her.

“No, I don’t, Keely was the only one that knows it.” Kylie tells them truthfully.

 They both nodded.

“Well, okay, thank you Kylie, and feel free to stop by or give a call if you have any other information that can help.” Detective #1 says once they all stood up.

Kylie walks them out and gives them a smile.

“Of course, I’m sorry about Hunter, he wasn’t actually a bad guy.” Kylie tells them with a small smile.

They both give her a nod and then walk out of her work.

Kylie lets out a sigh of relief and makes her way around the counter and back to her workstation, she grabs an apron and puts it on.

“I’m sorry about Hunter.” Her manager tells her with a frown.

“Me too.” Kylie just says and then continues her work.

Kylie comes home that evening, and she sees her mother leaning against the kitchen counter and sipping coffee from her cat coffee mug.

She then puts her stuff down next to the door and then walks to her mother while carrying her phone.

 “Oh hey, I heard the detectives came to see you at work, how was that?” Kylie’s mother asks her while she keeps drinking her coffee.

Kylie walks up to the fridge and grabs a pitcher of tea and then a glass from the cabinet.

“It was okay, um they found a white garbage bag and it had Keely’s clothes inside it and they are taking DNA samples of her clothing, and um, Keely’s boyfriend was found dead.” Kylie tells her while pouring herself some tea.

 “Oh, do they know who killed him?” Kylie’s mother asks her.

“Nope, but they have a lead.” Kylie tells her mother while putting the pitcher back inside the refrigerator.

 “Oh yeah, and what is this lead?” The mother asks her daughter.

“Um, Hunter’s ex who is in a college close by here.” Kylie explains to her mother while drinking her tea.

“Do you think she knows anything about Keely’s abduction?” The woman asks while drinking her black coffee.

 “I think so that ex-girlfriend was controlling to Hunter and she used to threaten Keely, I just never thought that she would do this.” Kylie sighs while remembering the girl.

Kylie and Keely were sitting down at a table at the mall food court and eating their food.

“So, where did Hunter take you last night?” Kylie asks her while eating some chicken strips from Chick fila.

“Um, to a movie, and we just made out.” Keely tells her while popping a nugget into her mouth and looking down at her phone.

Kylie gives her best friend a grossed-out expression.

“Okay, I didn’t need to know that.” Kylie says with her mouth full.

Just then a girl with long brown hair comes up to Keely and Kylie.

“Which one of you stupid girls are Keely?” She asks pissed and then crossed her arms over her chest.

Keely then raises an eyebrow at the random girl.

“I am, what’s up?” Keely asks her while looking up at her and then pops another nugget inside her mouth.

“My name is Alexa, and you are dating my ex Hunter.” The girl, Alexa informs them very haughtily.

“Wow, that’s very stalker-like of you Alexa.” Keely says with an eye roll.

Making Alexa shoot daggers at her.

“This won’t be the end of me, I’m going to a college close by this damn town this fall, and I will hurt you if you don’t break up with Hunter.” Alexa informs Keely while pointing a finger at Keely and glaring at her.

Keely just scoffs at this.

“Alexa, turn off.” Keely tells her.

As if she’s like the Alexa machine.

Making her groan and then stomp away from the girls.

“She’s going to make your life hell now.” Kylie tells her friend.

“She can bring it on.” Keely says while sipping her lemonade.

Kylie then sighs at this memory and then drinks the rest of her sweet tea.
