The Mediator

Claire's POV

I got to know from Alex what all happened between Ava and Alex. I can't see to process all of it. I can not even blame anyone. Alex was correct from his point of view although his way was wrong. I can understand how Ava might be feeling, all detached.

I tried to convince Ava as much as I can, but she is way too stubborn and hurt. When I heard her cry, I too was hurting. No one has ever made her cry that way, and I can not forgive the one who made her cry. I was ready to offend Alex and give him earful, but when I saw his state, i knew he is hurting too.

This stupid Alex, first does the mistake himself and now is in agony. The sparkle in his eyes are lost, he has grown beard, disheveled hairs, inshort he looks like a drunkard. Xave and I tried to convince him when he came to visit us, but in vain. I heard his business was not doing well. He lost 2 major deals and is working his ass off to get them back. He doesn't sleep for more than 2 hours, nor does he eats much. Ava needs to come back, it has been only 11 days, everything has gone downhill for Alex. The guilt is eating him up.

"Hey Av, how are you?" "I am fine Claire, better than earlier" "Good, atleast someone is fine" I deliberately whisper the last part. "Claire, is everything alright?" "Yeah! all good here" "And Alex?" "He's keeping up I guess?" "What happened to him? Is he not well? Please don't beat around the Bush and tell me honestly what is going on there?" "Oh! now you care about him, hah? You left him without a word. He is like a drunkard zombie now, not sleeping, not eating. He lost 2 important business deals. He has lost himself Av, he's not the same Alex as earlier. If you don't come back now, we may have to admit him to hospital soon. Let me clearly tell, you made a decision in haste Ava, without thinking about the repercussions of it, without giving a chance of explanation to the person you love. I have always admired your decisions, your calmness and you being correct always, but this time you're wrong. You'll be responsible if anything goes wrong between the two of you. And I will not forgive you if anything happens to Alex, or your relationship with him ends." that's it, I said my heart out. I know it will cause her pain, but enough of the drama, it has to end now.

Ava's POV

Every word Claire said pained me. They were like needles in my heart. But I know she wouldn't have said such, I have definitely made a wrong decision. I was myself thinking about all the possibilities of Alex's actions, and whatever explanation Claire gave for him was better fit. I had planned to return day after tomorrow, looks like I'll have to go today itself.

"I was planning to reurn day after tomorrow, but I'll be back by tomorrow afternoon. I am sorry Claire, I know I disappointed you this time and please trust me it won't happen again"

"I know Av, and I am sorry too, I know my words may have hurt you"

"That's ok, you have the full right to shout at me, get angry at me.And to tell you a good news, tomorrow Alex is being awarded as the best businessman of the year and Noah is getting special recognition award from the council" "Oh!I get your plan now, so you'll crash land directly in the award show" "You Bet!" "I will get everything ready for the award show then and I hope you won't be hard on Alex?" "Don't worry sissy, I'll amend our relationship" "That's my Girl, see you soon"

The conversation with Calire went well. I hope I will be able to make things right with Alex and bring our relationship on track.
