Putting on a show

Tyler's POV

"You want us to do what?!"

I'm a little lost for words, this girl who was just balling in my arms not even an hour ago now wants me to keep a promise I made when we were fourteen and prank my alpha guard.

How did she even remember that. We never talked about it after that day. Back then I hung on her every word so of course I remember but I never thought she would, Nor did I think she'd be in my house now asking me to full fill her wish.

"We need to liven things up a bit. All this talk has been so sad and depressing. Come on it will be fun. And I promise if we get caught you can blame me 100% and say you were trying to stop me from my rebellious antics."

She Smiled then, her sweet innocent smile I used to love, The one that would make me do anything she asked.

"What did you have in mind?"

"First we fake them into thinking we're arguing and fighting slaming each other against the walls that kind of stuff but when the barge in here we are sitting peacefully in silence. Then we pelt some of them with water ballons. And finally we end the show with you acting like you are choking and I save your life and make them feel like failed body guards."

"Why on earth do you want to make them feel like failures?"

"So that way when you announce me as your mate and their future Luna the won't remember me as the senior f**k up but as the only one who was able to save their beloved alpha."

My fork fell to the floor as she finished that last statement. Does that mean shes going to stay with me. If I do this will I really win her back? I've been dreaming of this day for so long I can't fail now.

"Okay how do we start."

She stand up and start screaming at me and I know the game is on.

"I don't care if you're the alpha you can't control me or anything I do. If I want to leave the pack then I'm leaving and there is nothing you can do to stop me."

"O yes there is. Do you not remember everything I've done for you these last few years and this is the thanks I get. If it wasn't for me you would have been sent rogue a long time ago. Now pipe down and remember who you're talking too."

"I will not pipe down. You think just because you have a fancy title now that there's anything you can do to stop me from leaving or from doing thing like this." with that whe went to the cabinet that was tucked into the corner of the room by the door and started pounding on it. she moved over to the wall and gave it a few good thuds. I got up and joined her shoving the safe straight into the wall as if a body were to be being thrown against it and then in unison we both jumped and slammed all our weight into the floor as if a dead body had fallen. We both shushed our own giggles and hurried back to the table quietly and began eating as if nothing had happened. A stampeed of feet could be heard through the door from the hallways And moments later the office door swings open.

"Find the alpha make sure he's all..." they all freeze and go silent as I glare up at them from my dinner plate.

"Gentleman, can we help you with something?"

Stunned my first in command fumbled for words but final let out "No alpha"

"will you kindly let us get back to our meal that was going so well until you all barged in her acting like a bunch of crazy baffons?"

"Yes alpha right away alpha so sorry alpha."

they scurried out of the room and once we no longer could hear their foots steps Mae and I both burst out laughing.

"I think they thought I had killed you" she laughed.

"He couldn't even talk straight he was so confused."

"I think you may have scared the piss out of them with the way you said gentlemen"

we both busted up laughing again giant smiled laced across both our faces.

"okay lets finish up hear so we can track down some water ballons."

She took one final bite and exclaimed "finished" before jumping from her seat and running eagerly to the door. I chucked and shook my head as I got up and lead the way down the stairs and out the back door. I headed Down the street to the pup daycare center where I knew everything would be for our water ballon assalt.

"I think we should tie these last two in together. We get them with the ballons and lead them to the training grounds where we have full coolers for an all out battle. Then when one of the ballons hit me I fake choking as if I inhale part of a ballon or something. You throw on the dramatics about saving the alpha and after they start to try I fall the the ground unconcious where you then come give me mouth to mouth and save my life. What you think?"

"Mouth to mouth huh... you just want a reason to get away with kissing me again." She blushed I knew she liked the idea but was just a little uncomfortable admitting it. But she is my luna and I am determined to heal her wounds and break her out of the shell she has placed herself in.

I step up close to her grabbed her by the waist and said "I am the alpha I dont need an excuse. If I want to kiss my mate I'm going to kiss my mate."

Her eyes grew wide and with that I planted a small little kiss on her lips and trailed them down her neck and behind her ear causing her to giggle and playfully push me away.

"alright Romeo you win that one but don't get a big head now. I haven't said I'm staying yet."

"That's fine Babe, but if you go I go too. I'm not spending another day without you."

she blushed almost crimson red with that and shoved me again as she grabbed the water ballons and began filling them from the sink.

Soon we had 4 coolers filled with ballons and two small baskets. I checked the time to see where the guards would be. It was just before 6 and the sun was starting to set. we had to hurry and get the training ground set up if we wanted to catch them off guard as the circled around the back of the pack house. We agreed to split up. She would attack them from the barn across from the house and I from the top of the great oak that shaded the porch.

Ten minutes later my four guards rounded the house and to our surpise the patrol trainee leaders were with them as well. Jess and Justin. At first I was concerned. Mae hadn't see Jess since she took off for the academy and Jess said she stopped answering her phone calls about six months ago. Jess continued to reach out but with no sucess.

What if seeing Jess pulls her back into her depression. Before I could even debate on calling the whole thing off a ballon pelt Jess in the back of the head.

"What the hell!" Jess looked around fuming at how drenched she was. As she and the guards turned towards the barn I threw two ballons, one at Justin and the next at my head guard.. The six of them whirled back around giving Mae the opoortunity to come out of hidding and start nailing the last 3 of them with 3 perfectly tossed ballons. They all whirl around and begin chasing after her down the path. I jump from the tree and grab my basket I had hidden under the porch and run up behind them nailing two of them in the head as I fly pass them and catch up with Mae. by this point we are entering the training grounds and they have caught on. May and I both station ourselve behind two buckets as they circle around the other two.

They seemed uneasy not sure if they should attach their alpha out right or his new friend who they all recognized as the towns trouble maker of the last two years.

"Here's your chance boys come and get me" Mae yelled as she flings two ballons at my leads heads. they dodge and go straight for ballons. I them pelt them both and shield her as they sling off their first attacks. In five minute everyone is laughing and taunting one another when I finally take a solid hit straight to the face. Remembering the plan I start coughing. Mae looks over, see, and is ready to put on the show.

"Tyler... O my god Tyler! Help someone the alpha is choking! Help."

I am then surrounded in a matter of second each man takes turns trying to perform the hymlic on me but no one can manage around my large broad body. I then stumble to the ground close my eyes and stop moving. I can hear everyone crowding around me. panic in their voices.

"Someone get the pack doctor" Jess yelled.

"Out of my way!" Mae yelled and by the sounds of it she shoved a few of the guards who wouldn't move out of her way to get to me. Soon I felt her ear brush my lips and I knew it was game time.

"He's not breathing! Tyler! please please please you can't die I just got you back please! WHERE IS THAT DOCTOR!"

With that she starts counting as she presses against my chest and them breathes into my mouth. I'm tempted to slip her a little tongue but I resist remember this is her victory show and I'm just the willing participant. She breathes into my mouth another three times before pinching my arm as if to tell me to hurry up and recover already. So on her next breath I begin choking and fake coming too.

"Don't you ever scare me like that again do you hear me! If I'm going to be sticking around here them you sure as hell better not die on me."

I wrap my arm around her and pull her down to my chest petting her head and comforting her as if she was really afraid.

"Its ok Babe, Im fine. I'd never leave you. You saved, me its ok."

I then let her go and opened my eyes. Everyone looked shocked and stunned. Mae helped me to my feet and wrapped her arm around me as I rested mine across her shoulder.

"It's ok everyone, I'm all right. Thanks to Mae everything is ok. We can all get back to work now."

They stood there stunned for another moment before erupting into celebration and crowding Mae with hand shakes and thank yous'.

She smiled and nodded to them all before I shoed them all away and lead her back inside the pack house. This time however we did not go to my office. I lead her up to the third floor and down the hall the my room. Once inside her smile fell and the unease settled in.

"You'll want to get out of those wet clothes before you catch a cold." I stepped into my closet and returned with one of my tshirts and sport shorts that had a draw string. "These will be a little big but should hold up until we can get your clothes washed. The shower is through that door on the right of the closet. I'm going to go down the hall and take one myself. I'll meet you back in here in ten minutes ok?" She half smiled and nodded when she realized I wasn't staying in the room with her.

I grabbed some clothes for myself exiting the room and rushed down the hall to clean up. I didn't want to be gone from her any longer then I had to be. After all she just saved my life I have to reward her some how when I return.
