Day 2

The first day yesterday was full of my dad yelling at the three of us as we worked on the docks we are doing all the docks from here to Big Bend on both sides of the lake for "beautification purposes" really its because wolves can be really hard on them and we all have boats so going to Blood River will be easier with better docks.

I am looking forward to lunch today I am going to head over on my boat to go get some of that delicious Hydration stuff that Yazmine makes. she is a smarta$$ and shows all of her emotions on her face which can be a downfall but at least she is genuine, Mike told me yesterday we have to keep going because Cat is his mate. I know that is going to be tough being mated to a human is never easy from the experiences I have seen.

I head to the general store

"Hey there kiddo haven't seen you in a few years"

I hug the old man

"Yeah the guys and I went to UCLA"

He smiles "Thats great, well no parties at my lakehouse I gave it to my grand daughter"

I nod "Yeah found that out the hard way is she here?"

"POOCHIE!"

She comes out from the kitchen "What your going to burn my rolls and.... Oh um hey Davin"

"Buns?"

She glares at me "Yeah sticky buns there are some in the display if you are in a rush"

I shrug "I got time to wait for fresh, so your the sticky buns girl huh?"

" Haha did you just come here to patronise me?"

"Nah um hyration drink and now sticky buns"

She waves to the isle behind me "Drink mix is there Buns will be about 5 minutes"

I nod heading to the isle as she goes back to the kitchen all of the flavors sound amazing and there are so many more than she had at the house. I settle on watermelon lemonade, strawberry kiwi, and black cherry berry taking them to the counter she comes up to the counter with a big sheetpan box.

" I figured you might getjacked for some"

I chuckle "Yeah probably, what do I owe you?"

"Um... she turns around grabbing a box of cigarillos "10.92 for these thats it"

"Ohh so I did get the friends discount"

"No you got the your a cocky son of b*tch pestering me discount" She smirks at me playfully "Now don't forget the rillo's tonight"

"What time?"

She shrugs " Meet us at the shore when you get off"

"Cool see you later” I grab my stuff heading out.

YAZ

I turn as he leaves seeing my grandfather smiling “ What?”

“ Oh nothing that seemed like an interesting exchange”

I roll my eyes “ If you want to call it that”

“ So uh how do you know him”

I lean on the counter grabbing some gummies opening them as the old man in front of me is smiling way too hard

“ Him and his friends broke in the other night to have a place to smoke”

“Oh broke in is such a harsh word those boys know I leave the back door unlocked”

I roll my eyes “ Anyways.. they seem chill, do you know them?”

He nods “ Yeah just some kids from Big Bend his grandparents owned the lake mansion directly across from the house glad to see they are back around and you are getting along”

“Mhm so his dad doesn’t like bud?”

My grandfather laughs “ His dad doesn’t like fun he did when he was younger use to chalk it up with your mom and uncle every summer smoke in the back by the shore. He got way too serious with age”

I sigh nodding “ it’s nice hearing small old stories you know before my father turned her Into a slithering fickle b*tch”

“ She had her moments before him but yeah it was mostly him that was her undoing.” He grabs the gummies from me smiling “ now get back to work missy”

I salute him returning to my duties before I head out and the girls and I head to the shore.

I hear loud whistling and look up about to fight whoever is being rude and see the guys playfully whistling and cat calling as they make their way to the shore. I roll my eyes laying back and my foot gets kicked.

I look up glaring “ The audacity”

Luke chuckles “ yeah yeah you smoking or not?”

I lift my hand and he hands me the blunt “ Lazy much?”

I turn looking at Mike “ How many sticky buns did you get?”

“ 2 the f*cker bogarted 8 to himself”

I laugh “ That makes since”

“ Meaning what exactly there Yazmine?”

“ Meaning I saw that look when I gave them to you big man and it’s Yaz to you” I wink at him and he chuckles

“Smarta$$”

I shrug and everyone sits down as we smoke the others go off to the water as Davin and I keep smoking “ so uh heard something about your dad today”

He raises an eyebrow “ oh yeah? Like what?”

“ Like the fact he use to hang out with my mom and Uncle when they were teenagers and do the exact same thing we do.”

“ Smoke? You sure it was my dad?”

I shrug “ Papa said it was said he come straight across the river to hang out from right there” I point at the mansion

He huffs a laugh “ Yeah that’s my families place. He did have a point too cuz boating over here was so much easier. But we got to do something about that Dock it’s falling apart”

I raise an eyebrow passing to him “ Thought it was part of the whole beautification project or whatever”

“ Nah not private docks but maybe I can give you a friend discount.” He smiles

“ Oh yeah?”

“ Yeah or maybe just a smarta$$ pain in my A$$ discount”

I start laughing and throw my water bottle at him “ A$$hole”

He chuckles winking at me throwing my water bottle back.

I mean I’m not going to deny flirting with him at this point but can you blame a girl? We go join the others in the water then head in for the night hanging out.
