Vanessa was indeed grinning from ear to ear as she heard that signal from her doctor. She got up from her comfy couch and went to the bathroom to take a quick shower then refreshing with new clothes. She just wore baggy or comfy clothing like crimson red sweatshirts with hoodie then a black jogger pants. After changing and refreshing herself, she got out of the bathroom then went back on the couch and started writing something or for someone. Vanessa wrote a gratitude letter for the nurses who're taking care of her and as well for her doctors especially Marian Ibarra. Of course, she didn’t expect that she’ll write something long for her doctor and surgeon but it doesn't stop her from expressing her gratitude toward Marian which she also hopes to see again one day. When she was done writing a few letters for a few and selected people who helped her in the hospital, her room phone suddenly rings. “Santos, speaking.” Vanessa answered the call which she didn’t hear anything aside from breathing. She looked at the phone for a second before putting it back to her ears and there was still the sound of breathing then it began to make some static noises which made her almost drop the phone but no. she tried to listen once again and from that static noises it turned into some rainfall which made her glanced to the window and it was indeed raining. “Please tell me who you are or I’ll drop this call.” Vanessa warned whoever on the other line but the rain turned into the melodic sound of a violin. Vanessa’s eyes widened and again looked briefly to the phone since she couldn’t believe what was going on the other line. She might have wanted to drop the call but her hands and ears were preventing her from doing so until she felt some fixed gaze coming from outside the window. She stood up carefully before heading to the window while holding the phone then there she heard a voice. “Finally.” She thought to herself. ‘Prends soin de ma bien-aimée' “Pardon? I don’t understand.” Vanessa said but the line was already cut and the feeling that was coming from the window suddenly vanished as well. Vanessa was confused over it but as she went back to the couch, she took her cell phone and checked on the internet the translation of what she just heard. She checked it on Google and her eyes can’t believe the result that she got from the translation from Google. It’s French which she totally can’t understand but knowing that it might be really the English translation of it then Vanessa can’t help but to smile over it. “According to google, it meant ‘Take care my beloved.’ and whoever you are, thank you...wait, let see what’s the French translation for it.” Vanessa said to no one but to herself before typing it to her phone to see what’s the French word for it. “Ah it says, ‘qui que vous soyez, merci’. I hope I pronounced it right.” Vanessa chuckled to herself as she tried to speak in French which she really sounded bad. After doing that, she finally realized that she was smiling for no reason which made her shake her head before heading back to her bed since she started to feel a little drowsy. Vanessa took her goodnight sleep since tomorrow morning will be her last day in the hospital since by lunch, she’ll be discharged and she was excited over it. As Vanessa’s mind drifted in such a dream, everything was a little gloomy or just plain grey color with a few selected colors of green for the grassy ground, bloody red for the color of the water in the ruined circular fountain, then there’s a mixture of black and white formed into a human figure of a lady. Vanessa was really confused on why she’s dreaming something like this when she never did before she had an accident. “What is this place anyway?” Vanessa might have thought that to herself since it was totally new to her. She never had any dreams like this or clearly to say she never dreamed before because of her almost 24/7 in the field. She only got a chance to sleep in their mobile car or just be half asleep in her minimalist apartment. ‘Watashi dake ni tsunagaru basho.’ Vanessa’s face really looked confused which made the voice that was coming from the black and white shadow of a lady chuckled before translating them in English. “What I said was, ‘a place that only connects to mine.’” The shadow of a lady translated with some giggles along with its tone. “If you can speak in English why not speak that way?” Vanessa asked sarcastically as she also released a heavy sigh. “Mystery.” She chuckled as it moved smoothly like a ghost and sat by the ruined fountain. “Right. But have you even realized that it complicates things in my head?” Vanessa almost sounded like she groaned rather than being sarcastic. “I know. It's cute though.” She answered as she chuckled while staring at her. Vanessa could definitely feel that. “Very funny but, seriously, why does my dream connect with you?” Vanessa changed the subject before looking around but only to see nothing aside from the only colors that were visible to her eyes. “Can’t tell but one day, you’ll understand. But for now let me warn you about something coming in your way.” She told Vanessa in a serious but sad tone which made Vanessa look back at her. She was studying the shadow sitting along in the ruined fountain. She felt sad seeing that from whoever owns it. “You’ll cross tons of death as you enter the society of death inspectors...and when you do, the heat from your blood will raise and will extract those fangs and that eye will see its mate. When that time, choose carefully since it’ll cause real pain of brokenness to each party.” She warned which made Vanessa confused and lost from what she was hearing though her heart was beating irregularly. It beats like it knew what this particular shadow of a lady telling her. “I know you might not understand them, but when it finally comes to you, feel it, think of it, weigh things before you decide.” She continued as she noticed the confusion written onto Vanessa’s face who was now thinking deeply as she was feeling her irregularity of her heartbeat. ‘Fais attention, mon amour.’ As Vanessa’s head immediately turned as she heard it from the shadow, she finally saw the caring and longing that she was feeling since the day she felt it in her hospital room. She knew from her heart what was the translation of it in English which was ‘Be careful, my love.’ and it's making her heart feel so warm. But her daze was being cut off when she felt a warm-cold hand cupped her left cheek and caressed it since Vanessa’s tear suddenly showed up. Vanessa didn’t realize that she was crying from the feeling that her heart was beating at. “You’re that…” Vanessa was about to state what she came into conclusion but the shadow put her thumb over her lips and chuckled a little. “Shh...it’s time for you to wake up. I’ll see you soon, Mon Bien-aimé." The shadow of a lady lovingly told her and exactly Vanessa’s view began to get blurry even though she didn’t want to leave the side of that said shadow but she has to. As Vanessa woke up from her dream, some tears never stopped from pooling out from her left eye and her heart was indeed beating so loud and hard but she could still breath normally. She stood up carefully from her hospital bed and walked toward the window and just to be greeted by the morning sky hit her face. “Mon Bien-aimé...my beloved…” Vanessa whispered while looking at the morning sky from the window so dreamingly. She could still remember her dream with that shadow and it put a smile on her lips. Only a few more hours and still nothing changed on her morning routine aside from fixing her things up and changing into her ordinary clothing like a black six pocket shorts, comfy shirt underneath her hoodie and her topsider shoes. As everything was already set, a knock echoed throughout her room and revealed her assigned nurse. “Seems like you’re ready.” the nurse greeted her while smiling gladly since another patient was about to discharge in the hospital for recovering from the accident. “Yes, I am. Also here, those are my letters for you guys and please send this exactly to Doctor Marian Ibarra after I left the hospital.” Vanessa told her nurse as she lent the letters before picking her things up. “I will. Thank you and please don’t force yourself even if you're finally discharged from the hospital.” The nurse reminded her which only made Vanessa laugh as she nodded in agreement then both of them went out the room and out from the hospital. As her feet finally reached the outside ground of the hospital’s entrance door, Vanessa smiled as she breathed the air of her surroundings. She totally misses being out of the hospital. As she began to walk and about to call a taxi, a black armored BMW SUV suddenly stopped in front of her. Vanessa was a little skeptical from the car in front of her until she noticed that logo painted on the front seaters’ doors and a familiar jolly lady came out from the front passenger seat. “Told you will pick you up.” Lyca greeted as she opened the back seat door for Vanessa. “Seriously, Armored BMW?” Vanessa chuckled as more on the car since it’s one of the cars that Vanessa wanted to buy. “Well, Joanna here was a very protective partner, especially around me.” Lyca said as the two of them finally settled inside the car which made Joanna groan over Lyca’s comment. “You don’t have to say that to her.” Joanna said as she began to drive the car. “Well, I love this car.” Vanessa commented which made Joanna grinned over the rear view mirror. As they were on the road, Joanna and Lyca were bickering over some petty things which Vanessa found amusing to have someone that could complement any mood swings you have. Just thinking of it, Vanessa looked out the window as if she missed the feeling of it, she missed someone and she was sure of it.
