Morning training seemed to go too fast. As soon as I showered and dressed, I headed to Alpha’s office. As I raised my hand to knock, I heard Liv’s voice.
“Come in Kat.”
Pushing the door open, I found Luna Liv sitting on Alpha Bryan’s lap.
“Alpha. Luna.”
“What can we do for you, Kat?”
“Tala and I think we can find Mark’s mate.” I spit out before I got too scared to tell them.
After a few moments of silence, Luna Liv finally spoke. “What will you do when you find her? From my understanding, she ran from him.”
“I know what it feels like to run from a mate. I think I am the best one to try and talk to her. I have to try.”
I looked from the Alpha to my Luna to see a huge smile on her face.
“What do you need?” Alpha Bryan asked.
“Two warriors just to be safe. I’m not sure what to expect.”
“We can give you more if you need,” Luna Liv added.
“Two would be fine and I was hoping to take Ben and William?” They were Elite warriors that had recently retired from protecting the King. They didn’t retire because they had gotten too old but because they wanted to look for their mates. Only for them to find them in our pack.
“So be it.” Alpha Bryan said.
“When do you leave?” Luna Liv asked.
“I would like to leave immediately.”
“Get ready. I will have both Ben and William ready within the hour.”
Once I finished packing a bag, I stopped in to see Mark.
“Hey, I am heading out on a mate hunt.” I said with a wink.
He jumped up and hugged me and kissed my forehead.
“Thank you so much, Kat. You have no idea how much this means to me.”
The truth was, I knew how he was feeling and I would do anything to keep him from feeling that way.
Arriving at the pack SUV, I found Ben and William waiting for me. Ben is behind the wheel and I'm sitting in the passenger seat and William in the back.
“Which way, Kat?” Ben asked.
***Mind Link***
‘Tala, I need some help here.’
‘Let me take over.’

I allowed her control and I could feel her focus on Mark and his sorrow. As I focused on Mark, I felt a snap and, just like that, I knew where we needed to start going.
It was almost like when I looked for lost wolves to bring them home to our pack, but this was a stronger pull in a single direction. After driving for about an hour and only about 15 minutes outside of the packs boarder we pulled into a small diner.
“Are we getting lunch already?” William asked from the back.
“No. I just have this feeling in my chest that we need to stop here.” It almost felt like a stab in my chest.
Stepping out of the SUV, we went into the diner and found a seat in the back with William beside me and Ben across from us.
A short, plump woman made her way to us. The second she was in front of me, the stabbing in my chest became so much I almost felt like my heart was being ripped out of my chest. Slowly taking a deep breath and to calm my heart, I looked up at the woman standing and waiting for our order.
“What can I get for you?” Her voice was soft and almost distracted me.
“Just some water to get started.”
I watched as she walked away. Her figure and jet black hair were the complete opposite of what I vaguely remember and what Mark recalled.
She came back and took our orders and this time I focused and noticed her eyes. They were the most amazing green I had ever seen. Green eyes weren’t common but hers were impossible to miss.
“Her eyes are so green,” I said.
“I guess I didn’t notice,” Ben said.
“Me either.” William added.
How could they not notice?
The waitress returned with our food.
“Is there anything else you guys need?” She asked.
“No. Thank you.” Ben said, smiling at her.
“Did you notice her eyes?” I asked the moment she walked away.
“No I… I forgot.” He said, looking at me confused.
After nibbling on my lunch, I saw our waitress walking toward the back.
“I will be right back.” I said, jumping up and following her. The moment we were out of site of other I called to her. “Freya!”
She turned around and looked like she was about to panic and run. I grabbed her arm and everything went black for a second and when I looked around I was in a small house.
“What..What do you want?”
But I couldn’t respond. I felt dizzy and it was almost like I was watching everything getting dark.
